J. Eric Fuller, Tucson Shooting Victim Arrested at Town Hall Meeting For Threatening GOP Rep Terri Proud & Tea Party Spokesman Trent Humphries At ABC Taping … “You’re Dead”

One week after the Tucson, AZ tragedy and there is an arrest at a town hall meeting for death threats … So much for that call for peace, calm and tranquility in the aftermath of the shooting last week at the hands of Jared Loughner.

Tucson shooting victim J. Eric Fuller threatened Trent Humphries, the Pima County Tea Party leader, stood up to speak during the event. He was being very respectful. Trent told the audience that before we start placing blame on individuals we need to get all the facts.  J. Eric Fuller started screaming, “Trent Humphries you’re dead!” Oh and by the way, J. Eric Fuller is not a Tea Party member, he is not a Republican, he is not a conservative and he was not inspired by Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck Rush Limbaugh or bulls-eyes … HE IS A LEFTY! I guess it’s safe to say that J. Eric Fuller did not receive a “Together We Thrive” t-shirt at this past weeks memorial/pep rally.

How bizarre and ironic is it that one week from the terrible Tucson tragedy that left six dead and 14 injured, including US Rep Gabby Giffords (AZ-D), that one of the shooting victims would be arrested for making death threats in what was billed as a continuation of the Town hall meeting, after there was a memorial where there was a call for civility. Bizarre indeed.

J. Eric Fuller

VIDEO

The theme of the event was “An American Conversation Continued”–  the idea being to continue the conversation that a madman’s brutal rampage had interrupted.  So it was inevitable that the conversation would eventually turn to politics.   It did, toward the end, with Amanpour leading a discussion on a very touchy but obvious topic:  gun control.

That’s where the atmosphere turned tense.   When Tucson Tea Party founder Trent Humphries rose to suggest that any conversation about gun control should be put off until after the funerals for all the victims, witnesses say Fuller became agitated.  Two told KGUN9 News that finally, Fuller took a picture of Humphries, and said, You’re dead.”

When State Rep. Terri Proud (R-Tucson) rose to explain and clarify current and proposed gun legislation in the state, several people groaned or booed her.  One of those booing, according to several witnesses, was Fuller.   Witnesses sitting near Fuller told KGUN9 News that Fuller was making them feel very uncomfortable.

The event wrapped up a short time later.  Deputies then escorted Fuller from the room.  As he was being led off, Fuller shouted loudly to the room at large.  Several witnesses said that what they thought they heard him shout was, “You’re all whores!”

Fuller, age 63, is a political operative who specializes in gathering petitions for ballot initiatives.   Before the program began, he passed out business cards to people sitting around him that read:
“Signatures
“Expediting Initiatives since 2006
“J. Eric Fuller
“Political Circulator.”

Leftist J. Eric Fuller was charged with with threats and intimidation and he also will be charged with disorderly conduct. Outspoken Leftist propagandist Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik could not be reached for comment as to who he could falsely blame. As Protein Wisdom states, “the new civility” from the Left continues.

They should probably keep an eye on this guy; he sounds like he’s mentally unstable as well.

#3- Vince—-Put the Libtard Crackpipe down and get a clue. Regardless of party affiliation, mentally unstable people are exactly that…..MENTALLY UNSTABLE.

It is not that their is no compassion for him being a victim of the shooting of another deranged individual, there certainly is.

This man obviously is in need of a full Psychological Evaluation, and should be in intense counseling and in an in-patient program. There is help for him, but there is not any room to have another individual ranting in public and his emotional unstability being a threat to other innocent victims.

Speaking as a personal friend of Mr. Fullers I would ask that everyone show some respect. Granted Eric has some very defined views however no one should be made a villain for his views. I will say Eric could have handled things differently but let us not forget he is one of the victims. Those of you who advocate the right to bear arms are asking us who disagree to accept your point of view. Well how about those of us do not believe everyone should have a firearm. Why are we made out to be crazy? And while it is obvious that Palin’s website was not the cause of this incident. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to tone things down a bit. No matter what side of the issues you are on, I think we can all agree that innocent American citizens do not need to die !
We are all part of the same planet so it would be better to come to a middle ground than throw digs at each other. I certainly recognize your right to bear arms. However, I would be more comfortable if less people had guns. I also recognize that my opinion is my own, as is yours. I will offer this. The right to bear arms was written in a time when this was a very different world. Since our current world is vastly different, perhaps we should revisit the issue so that both you and I can exist in a community that belongs to us both.
I certainly appreciate all of the comments, and I do agree that Eric has handled himself poorly. Additionally I am not an anti-gun person. I personally do not have an interest in guns but I do believe that if you indeed choose to have guns as a part of your life than more power to you.
That being said, I offer you this. Just this morning I went to the local Circle K to get some coffee, and lo and behold, two middle aged men came in to shop. Both men were armed. Why do we need to be packing heat to go get a cup of coffee? And why as a patron of the Circle K am I not entitled to shop without the worry or random customers (who are strangers in my eyes, who is to say they may not snap) carrying firearms. Why did these individuals feel the need to be armed at a Circle K. Was there a threat of some kind?

I am not a political radical, or a left wing extremist, I am just an average citizen who does not understand the need for everyday citizens to carry guns, just because they have a right to.

And also, I have done my best to be respectful in my posts and I ask that you do the same. We are all entitled to our opinion.
      _______________
SM: Yes you were respectful and much appreciated. However, one can have a view, opinion, strong or not and that is fine. However, you do not get to say “YOU’RE DEAD”. I can respect some one’s different views. I happen to disagree with this dude on the 2nd Ammendment and gun control. So does Gabby Giffords for that fact.

James Eric Fuller just proved all of us correct on the Right and Tea party faithful. It is the Tea Party, talk radio, Fox news, etc who have been called extreme. None of thse people have made death threats. Verball death threats stating that “YOU’RE DEAD”. Even though the MSM has tried to make it a story.

It is sad that after all that has gone on in this story, that a LEFTIST like James Eric Fuller would make a death threat when civil discourse has been asked for. It would appear that those on the LEFT cannot even listen to their president.

    9. Leftist Civil Discourse on January 16th, 2011 2:30 pm

      To #8 John from Tucson

It saddens me that James Eric Fuller would do such a thing at a media event meant actually to try and bring things together. Even though I feel ABC was exploiting tha Tucson massacre for ratings, the last part of it was devoted to moving forward.

It would appear to me that those on the LEFT might be just as irrational as Jared Loughner. After all that Tucson went through, Fuller makes a death threat. That is just unreal.

Hardly seems like the left wanting any sort of civil discourse, especially when Fuller had previously stated that Pallin’s bullseyes were to blame for Loughner’s shooting.

      So what’s his reason?

As previously stated, I am discusted by his death threat.

We can only imagine how the MSM would have handled this if a right-winger made a death threat to one of the libs on stage. It would have actually been front page and on every Sunday Talk show.

    10. Carolyn Sue Barker on January 16th, 2011 3:05 pm

Here we go again, blaming one persons act on a whole party. It goes both ways neither the so called liberals or the so called conservatives are to blame for one persons act. Personally I see no need to label people either liberal or conservative, we all should be voting as we see fit not following either parties line completely, any thing else is not thinking for yourself.
      ______________
SM: Carolyn Sue Barker, you do realize we are being sarcastic when we are blaming the LEFT and the liberal MSM for what this Leftists did, right? It is called sarcasm and we are showing how ignorant and hateful the LEFT was being.

John I hope your friend Mr Fuller gets the help that is needed. I don’t condone any threats or acts of violence, it is wrong, period. And I feel like you do about guns, I respect the right if a person is a responsible gun owner. I have never touched a gun and don’t intend too, but also would like that respect on my views of guns.

You are obviously Not a person who likes guns and one who knows little about them.

There are many fine people in your city. However, as we have seen there are those who have an agenda that is not normal.

This guy went to the meeting with Gabby and the shooting started before anything else could transpire. Would he have acted the same way at that meeting if given the chance? Perhaps. You look at his business card and find that he is in the business of creating noticable acts.

Nine weeks ago I drove down highway 77/89 right past the site where the shooting took place. I am from Texas and I was packing as I always do when I travel.

Have I ever shot someone? No. Would I have pulled my gun and returned fire if I had been at the congresswoman’s meeting? You can take it to the bank that he would have been shot by the time he got off two of his own.

I learned to shoot as a child over 65 years ago at a time in our history that people had respect for one another and understood that guns used improperly could kill another human.

Yelling “You’re Dead” is not to be taken lightly. That is a death threat. Maybe if more people took notice of Jared Loughner’s behavior that 9 year old might still be alive and Congresswoman Gifford would not be fighting for her life right now as well as the other victims of the massacre. I’m sorry but that is not normal behavior. I understand your friend is upset and I’m sorry he was injured but he’s not stable and needs help.

I understand that you do not like guns. I know people who do not want to be around guns but guns do not kill people. You have a right to not own a gun as much as we have a right to own one. I carry a gun on my person every day. I work in Memphis and I’m trying to prevent myself from being a victim. There are so many gangs here that they have taken over the city and it would be wise to have a way to defend yourself. A person has the right to defend themselves by whatever means necessary. Just look at it this way: If even one person had been carrying a gun at the Safeway that Saturday things would have turned out differently. After the first shot he would have been taken out and more lives would have been saved. As for your statement as to why someone feels the need to have a gun to get coffee at a Circle K. How about some crazed lunatic like Jared Loughner with a gun? Just because a person carries a gun does not mean they want to kill people. I live about 30 miles from Memphis, Tennessee and I can tell you that it’s really bad with shootings, carjackings, and drug deals on a daily basis. Law-abiding citizens are not the one’s you should be concerned about. The drug dealers & gang members will always have guns. The citizens of this country need to have protection. If some thug breaks into my house he’s leaving in a body bag. If some thug tries to carjack me, they will have a few holes in them.

I have never shot anyone and hope I never have to. I don’t want to use a gun on anyone but if you mess with me or my family then I will not hesitate to use it. I have a permit to carry and I know how to use it.

Just try to see if from our point of view. I don’t expect you to change your mind about how you feel about guns but respect our decision to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights.

      :)

i guess the lefties will blame this on Bush or the Tea Party or, Republicans ?
they tend to cover for those who commit crimes in their name and of course in their patented fashion, blame the other guy.

You’re so right, NGBoston. These people don’t deserve our understanding, only to be lumped into a convenient category so we can go on hating people we don’t understand. Or refuse to understand.

The conservative plan for dealing with the mentally ill, by the way, is the turn them into street people. so we can blame them for all of our problems.

    17. kfreed on January 18th, 2011 2:34 am

Interesting, ain’t it, that one “leftist” says “you’re dead” to a tea party leader and gets hauled off… yet the tighty righties can broadcast death threats and hit lists from the airwaves and blogosphere 24/7/365 for two years and its “political passion.”

Not to mention that the man was recently shot in the knee and in the back at a political event. Hmmm… I’d be a bit pissed off, too.
      ____________________
SM: Obviously you are challenged and can’t differentiate between a direct threat to a person and “free speech”. Being against one’s policies passionately is not a death threat. Saying “You’re dead” is.

Maybe you would like to cite examples of this 365/24/7 death threats that you claim.

      @14:

I understand why you carrie a gun (and honestly..if we had similair gunlaws here in NL, I would own a few too).

But I don’t think that in the past event ppl taking out their guns and shoot that loony would have done much good.
Bullets don’t care who they hit (or what they pass through)
