HOPE & CHANGE … Nancy Pelosi’s Last Hours as Speaker of the House, Speaker Elect Boehner to be Sworn in

Ding, Dong, Pelosi is almost gone … January 5, 2011, a new beginning for America.

There is only mere hours left in Nancy Pelosi’s reign as Democrat Speaker of the House. Later this morning, John Bohner (OH-R) will be given the oath of office and handed the gavel. Actually, they will probably have to pry it out of the hand of Pelosi.

The House is being returned to the PEOPLE.

Hat Tip: Drudge

This might be one of the best pics ever

Boehner will be sworn in as the new Speaker of the Republican controlled 112th Congress and he will then swear in the new Congress. As one of their first acts of Congress, they will read the US Constitution. Maybe this Congress will actually also follow it. Heck, with all this “Hope & Change” and Pelosi being ousted, the heck with Boehner, I might shed a tear.

“As one of their first acts of Congress, they will read the US Constitution”

This is all for show to placate a few people who believe that wearing a flag pin and carrying a bible is all you need to be patriotic. The next two years they will be busy trying to prove to those few folks that they alone are patriotic, all the while putting more nails in the coffin of America.
Now, if only we could be guaranteed that they will understand what they are reading.

#1, It is scary that they have not read it before…

Would that tear be one of joy?

The Republicans will have a lot of work to do to get the country going in the right direction, but this can be the first step in a journey back to our roots.

Could anyone believe how long Botox Nan went on, patting herself on the back and LYING about what the previous Congress did?

I was waiting for someone to grab the gavel and hit her over the head! This was NOT suppose to be Nan’s moment. This was John Boehner’s moment.

#1 It’s quite obvious the previous leadership in the House did not know the Constitution.

Only to a libtard non-Constitutionist would today’s reading be called a “show.”

The Constitution is LAW libtard. Maybe some members of Congress need to be reminded that it is not some living and breathing document.

It’s has nothing to do with being patriotic, it has to do with morons like you who doesn’t know the Constitution.

Have you read it? Do you know what it means?

It’s quite obvious that Nancy Pelosi was the most hated speaker in the HISTORY of the United States; she had members of her own party turn on her.

You libtards are just upset that your two year experiment at socialism failed and middle America woke up and the MAJORITY of the people threw her bumm ass out of that position.

Boehner…wasn’t he the guy who handed out cash from the tabacco industry on the floor?

So this is where the Repubs run too. Cry baby Bon. Er. I’mm..I’m…preswident.” No fool only of the House. Well where’s my drink.

#9 – Correct. Wonder what you teatards think today now that your new cry baby speaker and the repubs already broke the Constitution by having 2 members vote that hadn’t been sworn in, already broke their “100million in cuts” pledge, broke their “open rule process” pledge, and broke their provision to make “committee attendance public”.
48hrs in and many promises broken.

How can one say that the reading of the Constitution today was not a show when almost no one was in attendence when it was read. Lol.
Oh, and teatard #8 – it cost the taxpayers over $1million for the reading today. What does a racist teatard such as yourself think about that?

      WHERE’S YOUR OUTRAGE TEABAGGERS??????????

“this can be the first step in a journey back to our roots.”

You mean when blacks were slaves and women couldn’t vote? Heaven for you I know, but this isn’t 1776 anymore gramps.

Although the Constitution is part of “the law of the land“, I’m sure you already know that it is separate from the public laws of the United States. That said, I believe that, based on these, it’s fair to say that “The Constitution is LAW libtard.” Although, perhaps I’d consider dropping the whole “libtard” thing; it might lead to you getting a bad reputation, and lead to becoming a source of ridicule.

However, I wouldn’t agree it’s fair to say “Only to a libtard non-Constitutionist would today’s reading be called a ‘show’” in your disagreement with #1. As is clear to every able thinking person, reading the Constitution is separate from the Constitution itself. One may be “The Law”, while the other may be a “show”.

    14. Greg on January 7th, 2011 2:29 am

Late update: To a casual observer, those not reading the Constitution were fairly absent from the House chamber. If you are reading to a mostly empty room, how can anyone learn wha. . . Oh, I get it.

      Never-mind.
      _______________
SM: Greg you do understand this is the first thing that has been read in the House in 2 years, as the Dems did not even bother to read the bills before they voted on them.

nice try Red trying to turn to the dems again.

but weren’t the republicans also not in that house not reading anything?

SM: What, you don’t think there are Democrats who would prefer “The Communist Manifesto”? Prove me wrong bt what they did under Pelosi.

What, you don’t think there are Democrats who would prefer “The Communist Manifesto”? Prove me wrong bt what they did under Pelosi.

Prob. the same amount who wants to see the reading of the fasicm manifesto

    17. Greg on January 7th, 2011 11:20 am

      SM (#14)

AFAIK, reading bills is not in the Constitution.

Anyways, “some say” that the Reps didn’t bother to read the bills either. Of course, if you are always going to vote NO, then you really don’t need to read a bill to know what you’re voting on.

I could have taught any of my kids when they were in Kindergarten to vote NO like that; no understanding or advanced intellect needed.
