Nobody questions a president’s right or need to take take away from the White House, but there is something just inherently wrong with a president spending millions on an extended vacation while millions of individuals are unemployed, people continue to lose their homes, record number of individuals and families are on food stamps and “We the People” are faced with 9.8% unemployment. How is it that no WH aide says to Obama … “dude, this just ain’t right”.
There is something just not quite right with the look and the example that this displays to the country. The fact that President Obama sees no issue with spending millions on an over the top vacation while so many struggle to provide common necessities to their families is disturbing. This president is out of touch with the American plight and seems to just not care. Obama can claim he is for the working man by extending unemployment to the 99′ers, he can claim he is for the middle class by extending the Bush era tax cuts; however, the perception of this president vacationing in the lap of luxury while the lapdog MSM are more concerned with shirtless Obama pics than the “just plain wrong”vision of living life and vacationing to the utmost as America suffers.
A president should set an example and have a clue as to what the mood of a country is. How is it that our government tells us to sacrifice and that because of the spending of politicians that all citizens will have to suffer with debt reduction … why does Obama not have to limit himself and have some pain as well? Obama acts as if every one else owes him a living, a vacation and golf. Where is his sacrifice? How is it that this president who claims he is for the people, has never done one thing to show Americans that he “feels their pain?” Instead, time after time, he is out playing golf or his wife is off on gala lavish vacations.
From the Washington Examiner and the Hawaii Reporter comes the following costs for Obama’s “Winter White House”.
Just consider these estimates on part of the costs of the latest Obama Hawaii trip:
* Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii: $63,000 (White House Dossier)
* Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii: $1 million (GAO estimates)
* Housing in beachfront homes for Secret Service and Seals in Kailua ($1,200 a day for 14 days): $16,800
* Costs for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel: $134,400 ($400 per day for 24 staff) – excluding meals and other room costs
* Police overtime: $250,000 (2009 costs reported by Honolulu Police Department)
* Ambulance: $10,000 (City Spokesperson)
TOTAL COST: $1,474,200
More from the Hawaii Reporter, Obama’s Million Dollar Hawaiian Vacation: Costs to Taxpayers Detailed. When asked how much the costs really were, the President’s administration refused to disclose any information to Hawaii Reporter, citing security concerns, as to the cost to state or federal taxpayers for the Hawaii trips in 2009 and 2010 or any other information about the President’s visit.
This year, the president’s wife and family flew ahead of the President on an Air Force C-40B Special Mission Aircraft, a 32 passenger plane, which according to a White House Dossier analysis, cost taxpayers an estimated $63,000 or $6,330 per hour. “By leaving early, she (Michelle Obama) forced a large logistical support – including a retinue of Secret Service agents – to get itself up and running,” the Dossier reports.

While Americans suffer both raging unemployment and a dull economy and there is talk of another raise in taxes – the President should not take a vacation at all, let alone a lavish one.
If Michelle and Barack want us to think they are “just like us”, then they should act like it. At least 12 major cities in the US are bankrupt, millions of Americans are unemployed and even more are under employed. Many Americans have either lost their house or are facing foreclosure.
How on earth does the man representing and supposedly leading all of these Americans stick his nose in the air and spend more of the American taxpayers’ money? Leaders sometimes have to get their hands dirty and help pull the wagon. Not the Obamas!
Is this comming from the same source as the “costs” involving his India visit?
btw…those extended taxcuts are not for the middleclass.

Hey Red- how bout this piece of information that the media is NOT reporting about small business owners and how much their unemployment insurance is rising at exponetial levels (sp); how much they pay into unemployment pool EVEN if they didn’t hire anyone; but wanted to hire. A man yesterday said his parents unemployment payment for their small business rose 286%.
My father-in-law’s small business is getting over 130% increase.
How can these people grow their business and hire if they have to pay THOUSANDS more?
These businesses can’t even hire someone part-time because the incentive is out there for these people to stay home.
What choice do you think these unemployed people will take?
A. Work two days and earn $400
B. Stay home and not work and get $400 from the government.
The answer is B.

Ungodly spending..on a worthless un-American individual…the governor wants to clear up his birth records. in Hawaii…you never will…his mother couldn’t travel because of her pregnancy due date and their are two hospitals that have his certificate of birth, both false. Obama went to Hawaii to try and solve this with cash in his pocket.
Everything he signed as president means nothing if it is proven that he is of Keynan birth, which he is. His grandmother said he was born in Kenya and she was there.

SM: I would be piissed at any President who spent this kind of money to take a vacation on the tax payers dime. From what I remember, W mostly took his vacations at his TX Ranch, so that would nto have been an expense to tax payers. Slick Willy & Hillary, I can’t ever remember her taking off earlier by herself and costing an extra $63K.
