Lost in Smallness: Barack Obama Calls Eagles Owner & Applauds Team for Giving Dog Killer Vick a Second Chance

Barack Obama, Lost in Smallness: The Michael Vick  Convicted Dog Killer Edition. Just curious Barack, what took you so long to jump on the Vick band wagon, Vick got his second chance in Aug 2009.

It was reported at Pro Football Talk, that President Barack Hussein Obama called the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance. What? Obama finds time to call an owner of an NFL team to congratulate them on giving a dog killer a second chance, yet we have 9.8% national unemployment, record spending & federal deficits and record individuals on food stamps. What is wrong with this President that he feels the need to interject himself in sports? Recently, Vick stated that he wanted to own another dog. Maybe Obama is willing to give up his?

Though the Eagles didn’t have a chance to make news on the field tonight, they made some more news off the field.

Peter King of NBC reported during Football Night in America that President Barack Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance.

President Obama explained that a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences.  Vick’s success gives all of them hope.

Why did Obama even interject himself in this issue? He is the President of the United States, why did he feel the need to comment on this issue? Once again we are witness to Barack Obama, lost in smallness. Doug Powers raises a couple of interesting questions regarding Obama’s reasons to make an issue of Vick’s second chance. What a shock that Obama’s chooses a divisive individual. Would the front-runner Obama have referenced Vick is he was not having a good season? Doubt it.

Would this call have been made if Vick had been having a lousy season? I mean, should the success or failure of a second chance be judged solely by QB rating? Heck, would the call have been made if Lurie wasn’t such a big Democrat/Obama supporter?

UPDATE I: Obama supportive of second chance for Michael Vick; however, Barack Obama had no comment on the fact that the dogs that Vick killed never got a second chance. What about the dogs Mr. President, don’t you have one? Kill a dog, get a second chance. I am sure BO feels really good about this.

“He of course condemns the crimes that Michael Vick was convicted of,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton, “but, as he’s said previously, he does think that individuals who have paid for their crimes should have an opportunity to contribute to society again.”

Next Barack Obama will be singing the praises of child murderers and rapists who have got a second chance.

There should never be a second chance when someone has done something so horrid, ugly and brutal. To stand by and watch dogs bleed, suffer and destroy each other is far beyond anything a human being should even think about promoting. So inhumane!!!!! I looked at that photo once and I cannot bear to look at it again.

All you can hope for is that there are dogs lovers on that field.

Yes, why did he interject himself into this issue? Is this something that really needed to be said, in light of all the other things going on in the world? Vick will go on with his life, but there are just some things a guy can’t make up for. Like Jane Fonda. Are they really going to declare her to be some kind of swell role model for women? NEVER FORGET. Here’s the email floating out there to be passed along:

      SHE REALLY WAS A TRAITOR!!
and now OBAMA wants to honor her ……!!!!

In Memory of my brother -in- law
LT. C.Thomsen Wieland who spent 100 days at the Hanoi Hilton

      IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED
ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!!!!!!

      She really is a traitor

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
      KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70′s who do
not remember, and didn’t have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear..

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
      ’100 Women of the Century.’

      BY BARBRA WALTERS

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who served and sacrificed
      during Vietnam

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.
The pilot’s name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the ‘ Hanoi Hilton.’

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ’s, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
‘Peace Activist’ the ‘lenient and humane
      treatment’ he’d received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant ‘s feet, which sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant’s frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E’s). He spent 6 years in the ‘Hanoi Hilton’,,, the first three of which his family only knew he was ‘missing in action’.
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a ‘peace delegation’ visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it , in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man’s hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: ‘Aren’t you sorry you bombed
babies?’ and ‘Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?’
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper..

Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam , and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnamin 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a ‘black box’ in Hanoi My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the
Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs)

We were Jane Fonda’s ‘war criminals….’

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her..

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received… and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
      ‘humane and lenient.’

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weights placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of ’100 Years of Great Women.’ Lest we forget….’ 100 Years of Great Women’ should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane’s participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

Another point. How many ex cons get to be NFL quarterbacks? How many NFL quarterbacks are stupid enough to go down the path that Vick did? What a stupid analogy, that it gives hope to felons. Got news for you. His reputation is crap, will always be crap, and he can win every superbowl from now til whenever, and he will still be crap. The Eagles were desperate for a quarterback apparently, they get no points with me for it.

We need a smarter president, quick.

    4. jaa1169 on December 27th, 2010 9:47 pm

I think that Michael Vick has served his time…lets give him a breather.

On the other hand…POTUS has not done much, and for him to come out and support another AA, who really does not need his support, when the POTUS is trying to get us out of a recession, just shows us where his priorities lie, golfing and cut off caucasions heads. (and re-election). Lets hope the masses are not that stupid the next time around.

SM: This has nothing to do with Mike Vick, he is a dog killer that we are all supposed to believe is a good guy because he plays football. Sorry, I am not that naive.

However, Obama has no place in entering this small issue. It just shows how over his head he is. Obama has so many things that should be drawing his attention. Instead, he supports a dof killer. I guess its a good thing OJ Simpson did not kill his wife when he was still playing in the NFL. Obama would be praiseing the Juice too.

      Lost in Smallness:

Yes Barack is Lost in Smallness
      The Smallness of a man.
President of the United States I would be ashamed to call myself an American If I ever made those
      comments.

Mahatma Ghandi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”

“Any society, any nation, is judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members — the last, the least, the littlest.” – Cardinal Roger Mahony, In a 1998 letter, Creating a Culture of Life

“A society will be judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members and among the most vulnerable are surely the unborn and the dying,” – Pope John Paul II

“If one considers the observation that the worth and dignity of a civilization is judged by the way it the treats its weakest members, we cannot help but look back in shame at our past.” – Social Justice Yesterday – Today – Tomorrow, A Critical Reflection, By Rudolf Rickes

You have lost all the respect of any animal lover in the world.

Mr Michael Vick deserves to be put in a rink
and fight to the death. That would be his justice
      and not a second chance

Good Luck Obama you will surely need it

We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace. ~Albert Schweitzer, The Philosophy of Civilization

There is something wrong with Barack Obama! He has a serious flaw in his personality and, imo, lacks a certain amount of empathy

    7. brie. on December 28th, 2010 12:48 am

I don’t think the crime committed was unconscious cruelty, he knew exactly what was happening and also participating in malicious cruelty. Not to mention it was done for profit. And Obama was involved with his malicious line of thinking.

And now the governor of Hawaii says he is going to clear up the birth certificate for Obama. He said he knew both of Obama’s parents and they were great people. What a joke, his mother was a kook and his father was a drunk. The guy is a Democrat and Obama probably greased his palm. How can there be two different certificates of birth at two different hospitals…besides that his mother was not allowed to fly anyway because of her pregnancy due date.

      barbree,

If one’s truly sorry in their heart GOD KNOWS…not you or I to be honest. If you are correct, Vick is not forgivable by God.

I am a fan of Vick, have been since the first year he played @ VA Tech 15 miles away. I was impressed he came so far after reading up on what circumstances he grew up in which weren’t easy.

Dog-fighting was a neighborhood sport and kids (boys and girls) actually did this in this in their own family garages…so yes…he saw this from grade school so how can you wonder how he could be numb to it? (NOT that it is OK.)

My husband and I hunt and only kill what we want for food. Am I an unforgivable killer?

I would never put myself in God’s place to judge who can and can not be forgiven or provided a 2nd chance. The Bible (should you happen to belieive it) states Jesus said we should forgive 70X7 times when he was asked how many times we should forgive. I see you won’t even give one!!

Be careful, you are full of anger which is deadly to body and soul. What Vick did isn’t a molecule in a bucket of water compared to hurting a child. THAT IS MY OPINION. It is also not NEARLY as bad as what Jane Fonda did when she publically humiliated our troops.

Yes, dogs are ANIMALS…NOT HUMAN. Yes, we should be taking care of them and are charged to do so. But Vick paid for his crime VERY publically around the world and will pay rest of his life due to the stigma. But you may want to think about the fact he has a fiancee and 2 little girls who love him and who he loves. They’ve been together years and she stuck by him while he was in prison…so give some credit. He’s certainly not a player in same manner Tiger was…I also think what Tiger did was a billion times worse than what Mike did too. Least Vick owned up to it and talks about it today. Tiger says nothing as if it will just evaporate.

Please watch that anger, it will destroy you on the inside. (Go Eagles!!)
      _____________
SM: You are comparing hunting (legal) to the disgusting illegal actions of dog fighting? Are you serious? They are in no way the same.

Sorry, but Vick is a dirt bag. Anyone who would do something like dog fighting is a pathetic individual. There is something wrong with one’s wiring to not just bet on but participate in the viscious killing of dogs. I do not care what this punk can do on a football field … I guess I am supposed to give a child molester a second chance too because he could throw a football? Sorry.

Too bad the dogs that Vick killed were never provided a second chance.

    11. Brenda in Virginia on December 28th, 2010 8:23 am

R…yes, that is true and Vick has stated that he understands now that if the dogs had the choice they’d say no. Just I fully believe we will be judged by God with the same manner we use to judge others. Yes, hating only hurts us. Not the person we hate.

Least Vick only blames himself and didn’t pretend it was OK. I didn’t realize God was wrong about people being able to change…guess I should no longer believe Him on that??? If Vick pulls the same crap, I’ll eat a sock.

“The first day I walked into prison, and he slammed that door, I knew the magnitude of the decision that I made, and the poor judgment, and what I allowed to happen to the animals. And, you know, it’s no way of explaining the hurt and the guilt that I felt. And that was the reason I cried so many nights. And that put it all into perspective,” Vick told CBS Sports anchor James Brown.

Asked what he cried about, Vick said, “What I did, you know, being away from my family, letting so many people down. I let myself down, not being out on the football field, being in a prison bed, in a prison bunk, writing letters home, you know. That wasn’t my life. That wasn’t the way that things was supposed to be. And all because the so-called culture that I thought was right, that I thought it was cool. and I thought it was fun, and it was exciting at the time. It all led to me laying in a prison bunk by myself with no one to talk to but myself.”

“Who do you blame for all of this?” Brown asked.

      “I blame me,” Vick replied.

    12. bandit on December 28th, 2010 8:26 am

Oh dear…didn’t realize a child and a dog were on equal playing fields when it comes to committing a crime against one or the other.

A dog is a dog. I have one and she’s great…wouldn’t fight her…but it is a damn dog. I would never put dog fighting in the same playing field as one who would harm a child. Vick has kids for God’s sake. do they matter at all to anyone on this board…or have you all decided they need to lose their father. Nice. I am truly surprised today at all of you.

Now go ahead and beat me up and let me know how stupid and evil I am….

“I just reached the point in my career where I just totally lost touch with my Lord and Savior. And I thought I could do it on my own. And I couldn’t. So I had to resurrect that back into my life,” Vick said.

“Now you know most people who get in trouble, all of a sudden they find God. And you say?” Brown asked.

“It’s the only way I made it through prison. It’s the only way I could live life is having faith and believing in the higher power, believing in God,” Vick said.

“Michael, is this you talking? Or the big team of attorneys, image-shapers and the like,” Brown asked.

“This is Mike Vick. People will see my work out there, my work in the communities and my work with the Humane Society and how I really do care now, how I care about animals,” Vick said.
      ***************
It’s a message Vick says he never heard when he was a kid in Newport News, Va., where he was first exposed to dogfighting when he was eight years old.

“I was introduced very young, so I didn’t think it was wrong because I’d seen older guys condoning it and then, you know, doing it,” Vick said.

“You shared with me the story about, even the police riding through the neighborhood and seeing what was happening. Explain that situation,” Brown asked.

“When they got out the car and seen that, you know, it was two dogs fighting, they got back in the car and they left. So that right there kind of made me feel like, ‘Okay, you know, this ain’t – it is not as bad as it may seem.’ We didn’t think it was bad at the time. And, you know, that kind of put a stamp on it,” Vick said.
      ____________
SM: talk is cheap. So if he was exposed to drugs at a young age, that would be ok too? Oh thats right he was busted for pot. Vick has never been a choir boy and of not for his talents on a football field he would still be in prison. People have looked the other way of his actions since HS and at VA Tech.

Sorry, but no one just changes like that. He did so in order to have a career, nothing more. Wait until Vick is no longer paling FB. We will hear more from this guy. You cannt be that desensitized and kill animals like this and just shut it off.

      Brenda -

      YOU ARE PATHETIC!

You believe everything someone says? If Vick said the sky was green would you believe him?

Like Red said, TALK IS CHEAP.

It’s amazing losers like you don’t recall the 60 minutes interview WHERE IT WAS PLAINLY EVIDENT that he thinks he didn’t do anything wrong. As a matter of fact, he is on record as having said such things just after he was released from prison.

Are you too stupid to not think that his answers were PREPARED answers given to him by his agent, the NFL, including probably Tony Dungy?

So, by your own words, because Vick “allegedly” came from difficult circumstances that it was ok for him to kill dogs, have dogs tied to rape chambers, provided “house” dogs as bait to train these pit bulls to kill?

You’re thinking is moronic. You think Vick was on the only one in the NFL born around dog-fighting, yet he is the only one to have EVER been charged for such a crime?

What Vick did is 100X worse than what Tiger did. Tiger never committed a crime. Vick is a CONVICTED FELON. It’s amazing how twisted bible pumpers are….you’re a fake…the only reason you defend Vick is because he plays for your stupid-a## Eagles. If he played for Dallas, NY or Washington I guarantee you would be singing a different tune. I can spot fakes like you from a million miles away.

Ron Mexico is so full of himself that he talks in the 3rd person. I guess you think it’s ok for Vick to spread around STD’s without telling his partners. The RON MEXICO story is FACT! What do you think about that you bible pumper?

Get off your damn soapbox and stop preaching to us. You are lunatic…held in the same regards as the Westboro Baptist loons.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who have grown up under worse circumstances than Vick and a good majority of them are not FELONS and did not kill dogs.

His brother is a child molester. Look that story up, he provided 15 year olds with alcohol and had sex with them…I guess that’s ok too because he grew up with such a hard life? Give me a freaking break….LOL!

Newport News, VA is not the “deep south.” In fact, it’s about 4 hours south of Washington DC, so I guess we should call DC the “deep south” as well. What a lame excuse!

People make their own paths in life regardless of the environment and circumstances they grew up in; it’s not the environment and circumstances which mark a person’s path. He choose to kill dogs and commit felonies. He choose to lie to the Atlanta Falcons and the commissioner of the NFL and to the FEDS. He ONLY told the truth when faced with prison. It’s like a child admitting the truth of an action after his or her parents find out only to reduce the intensity or form of punishment.

It’s amazing that Vick lays the blame on the police that rode through the neighborhood and looked the other way as his “excuse” to think it was ok to fight dogs…LOL…that right there shows you he does not take full responsibility for his actions.

      You are a poser!

Brenda, I don’t hate Vick, just don’t think he’s worth a crap. And he’s not worth the energy it would take to hate.

I’ll tell you what I do hate though. When people invoke God, pretending to be devout to make themselves appear good. That is right up there with the bloodsport of killing dogs. Looks like Obama put the kiss of death on Vick. Oh yea, he looks ike an MVP playing against the lowly Vikes.

What front runner will Obama praise next week?

    22. Scott on December 29th, 2010 7:38 am

Listen…Tom Brady is 100X a better QB than Vick; it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Tom Brady was the 199th person drafted. Vick was a first rounder I believe.

Tom Brady won Super Bowls with receivers like Troy Brown, Deion Branch; running backs like Kevin Faulk.

I can’t even believe Vick is even in the conversation with Brady for MVP honors.

The book is out on the Eagles now. The Giants showed the blue-print two weeks ago; though their punter cost them a chance to win the game. Vick is a small QB..he’s banged up. Bringing the house against him is the formula. If you can hit him a few times early….he’s done.

If Brady wins another Super Bowl; he has to go down as one of the top 3 QB’s of all-time.

      It would be:

      1a. Montana
      1b. Brady

      Vick is garbage.

Lets just looks at the fact as the sports media has so distorted Mike Vick because they want the story to make $’s.

In the last two games against the Giants and Minnesota, Philly and Vick have played 7 good minutes out of 120 minutes. That’s it. Vick stunk up the field for 3 qtrs against the Giants and he and the Eagles were beyong putred against the Vikes.

Take a good look at Vick’s last 6 or 7 games. He is not even in the same zip code as Tom Brady, let alone in the same conversation.

The sports media just like all media tries to make a story out of something where there is nothing.

I doubt whether Disney will be doing a Mike Vick movie any time soon, I hardly think they want to have Lassie or Rin Tin Tin killed in a dog fight at the hasnds of Vick.

Woooowww, these comments I’m reading on here are truly a trip, but we in the USA try to say that there is not racism anymore. Also, ppl say, why do we still talk about racism years later, simply because of comments you guys write on here. Now I see why you guys say you can hide things from a black person in a book, because you feel like you can say the most ignorant shit on here. To answer that though, you can’t hide anything from a black person, because we’re to damn nosey…lol.., besides, it’s not that we don’t know, we just don’t want to read bias shit. We can hide things from you in our books as well, because you people assume so much about us, that you don’t take the time to even know us.

There was a guy on some show & they re-played on the radio this morning saying, “I’m a Christian, I believe in second chances, but he didn’t like the fact that Obama called Furier, & felt Vick should be executed. REALLY, IS IT COMING TO THAT NOW? I don’t condone what Vick did, it was wrong, I strong hardly believe that, but come on, the man served his time, this Country was built on 2nd, 3rd, & 4th chances. Presidents from years back use to pardon ppl to be given 2nd chances! Stop acting so ignorant, & notice how the author wrote Obama’s FULL NAME out, stupid.

Some1 above said that your not what your community is, you make your own decisions, absolutely untrue, YOU MUST BE NONE BLACK? Because whatever your environment is, there’s a strong case you can come up like that, especially if raised by a single parent, in a rough area. I was born in an average joe white hood(neighborhood), some had a little money, others struggled, but well kept area. I know plenty of none blacks that are in jail, crazy, or just struggling. Let me make a point, OBAMA DID NOT PUT US IN THIS MESS, THAT SOB BUSH THAT YOU NONE BLACKS VOTED FOR 2 TERMS DID (8 YRS) DID, OBAMA HAS NOT EVEN MAD 2 YEARS YET. You can not did people out of 8 years of dirt within nearly 2 years. You guys are asking for too much, & Bush took Vacations as well as any other President, so if he gets away, makes calls, spends time with fam, or whatever, HE DID NOT FORGET ABOUT THIS COUNTRY, HELL, HE NEEDS A BREAK FROM YOU WHINING BABIES OUT HERE EVERY NOW & THEN! Racism will never die, you none blacks just wear business suits now instead of white sheets.

When Brett Favre did what he did, you gave him a second chance, when Bush did what he did you voted for him again(thousands died of him), when Wayne Gretzy or his wife did what he did, you gave him a second chance, when Big Ben (Steelers QB) did what he did, you gave him a second chance, when the white Catholic ministers did what they did, we gave them a 2nd chance & when all the none black athletes under the rador did what they did, YOU GAVE THEM 2ND, 3RD, 4TH, AS WELL AS 5TH CHANCES. We non whites just ask to get to know us, stop degrading us, respect us, & don’t just like us for sports then say that’s all we do, because that’s what you like when you’re at home in your man cave with your other none black friends screaming at the t.v., or at the game with your shirts off in 0 degree weather. I understand freedom of speech, but keep some things to yourself, learn about us, help us as we can help you, we’re not all on Food stamps, unemployment, on drugs, have aids, killers, nor making babies, that’s what the media wants you none blacks & other cultures to believe. Most of you don’t even know why you hate blacks, see, just as the person said above that your make your own choices but not from your environment, well, your environment is pretty much why most of you are racist now! Because 90% of you do what the next none black person does or says, none of you stick up for a black person, & when you do, it’s Anonymous. Kanye & Michael said or song it best, Kanye said GW doesn’t like black ppl, well didn’t, & nor do most of you, but you deal with us. I will tell you what a none black friend told me years ago, if there weren’t any black here, this Country would be boring, & half the gold medals we have, we wouldn’t have now, & the inventions we none whites made wouldn’t be here (go pick up a book & read what’s hidden from you), yeah, we invented a lot. Michael Jackson said in a song some years ago, “They don’t really care about us”!

After all this, some igmo none black person will say something smart, GO AHEAD, BECAUSE THAT’LL TELL YOU ABOUT YOURSELF THERE, OH YEAH, THIS A FREE COUNTRY: THE RED, THE BLUE, & THE NONE BLACK!

Re #26: I honestly don’t know anything about football. I don’t care about sports. Give me a day or two and I won’t be able to even tell you what team the man plays for. I do care about animals of all kinds. What Michael Vick did was abominable. But whatever happened to second chances in this country? The man committed a crime, and he paid his debt. He didn’t get a slap on the wrist. He didn’t go to a cushy treatment facility for 30 days. He did 19 months in prison and lost over 100 million dollars, for heaven’s sake! Should he be barred from making a living for the rest of his life? Should we put him on welfare and let him be a drain on society from now on? If the man can keep himself together and come out of prison in good enough mental and physical shape to be a quarterback in the NFL, I believe that says a lot about his potential to be a productive, tax-paying citizen in the future. If not, then let his future transgressions dictate how he is treated in the future.

Elmer…it’s quite obvious you’re a nerd; no need to tell us you don’t watch sports…we knew that already…

Elmer..if Vick was not an NFL player but rather a guy who worked a regular 9-5 job and he did these things; he would NOT have gotten that job back PERIOD. Once you are a CONVICTED FELON and that’s exactly how it goes down on his record; normal blue collar people would have a very hard time finding a job.

Of course, everybody forgets his background prior to his imprisonment…RON MEXICO and spreading STDs; pot troubles, failed drug tests.

I don’t have to be NON-Black to know that your environment and circumstances in your life do not determine your path and that got me to thinking about a friend of mine who is black; when he was young, around 8 or 9 he watched his father kill his mother; then his father in his getaway crashed into a light pole at 60MPH and himself was killed. That’s more of a screwed up situation that anything Vick could have imagined growing up.

Did this friend of mine go out and commit crimes and become a criminal and just accepted the circumstances that were given to him and said F IT? NOPE. He became a good baseball player who went on to college and even was drafted and played in the minors a couple of years. He always had good grades, never gave his teachers and coaches any flack. He is now working for the FBI I think and has grown into an exceptional person with a wonderful family.

People who are self motivated no matter the circumstances can make something of themselves and be productive law obiding citizen.

The rest are just lazy f***s and depend on the government giving them a nice check to buy their next drug pick up.

BTW, I love Tucker Carlson and what he said is DEAD SPOT ON. Vick should have been tied to one of those rape chambers; had his teeth surgically removed (just like the dogs on the rape chambers so that they don’t try and fight the dog raping them) and then raped in the same manner those dogs were. Then I’d stick him in a cage match against Fedor or Brock Lesnar or any accomplished MMA fighter and watch him get his a$$ beat within an inch of his life; then afterwards, I want to see him get the same treatment those losing dogs got….

BTW…RED – Tom Brady is so much better than Vick it’s not even funny. It will be an outrage if Vick wins the MVP award. Brady is one of the top 3-5 quarterbacks in the history of the game and didn’t have wide receivers like Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne.

NO, there is not reverse racism, it’s called being upset from being disrespected over 500 plus years, everything none whites have, and we got on or worked for it on our own. Sure, you gave us a boost, but not like you help the Chinese, Hispanics, Indians (Native), & even Africans. Sure, we none whites collect unemployment or whatever else we accept, but we deserve it as well, now I do believe we should work more, but we’re just as deserving of that promotion as Dick, Tom, Larry, or Bill is. SM, you may judge by the content of character, but you dam sure don’t judge your own ppl like you will non whites, & the only judge in the world is God. So ask me one question “DUDE”, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO JUDGE ANYONE, LOOK IN THE MIRROR FIRST (MJ)! I didn’t “PRETTY MUCH MISS THE POINT, YOU MISSED MY POINT”, I was just speaking in general, YOU DO KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS DON’T YOU? Calling Obamamessiah is precisely what I was speaking on, BUT YOU NOT RACIST RIGHT.!? If we none blacks talk about or act racist, BECAUSE DUDE, YOU HAVE KNOW IDEA WHAT BEING BLACK IS WHEN WE WALK DOWN THE STREET, & A PUNK ASS COP STOPS YOU FOR NO FREAKIN REASON, OR TO BE CALLED NIGGER AS YOUR WALKING DOWN THE STREET, TO BE A SLAVE FOR OVER 50O + YEARS, DO YOU? Dam straight, we’re going to have some animosity, or always mad, because you guys are full of shit sometimes, but I don’t hate you, I just know your true identities under that suit. There’s never been a President so disrespected, if Obama hasn’t done something you like, kind of like George BushHEAD, don’t talk about him like that, IGNORANT SOB’S. Did you talk about GW like that? It’s nonsense to you, because you don’t live in our world, nor understand, like Chris Rock said before, IF A WHITE MAN HAD A CHANCE TO BE BLACK, YOU WOULDN’T DO IT, BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW YOUR OWN PPL REALLY ARE……….RUTHLESS! It don’t make no dam difference where Bush took his vacations, it was a vacation being taken while not taking care of this Country….You may want to look up the word vacation, iN the DC, it means, Out of office! It doesn’t make you racist to speak on Obama, BUT it DOES makes you racist to speak so freely on him, because I can best believe you never done that to your own people, look how quick YOU responded to what I said, THE TRUTH HURTS DON’T IT? If it wasn’t the truth especially since I wasn’t speaking to you, then you would’ve just ignored me, but racist can’t keep there mouths quiet. Honestly, you may be a good guy, all of you, because as I stated above, I grew up in a none black area, but as I got older, I come to know the truth, but I still love you none blacks as well as any other culture, but I do know that YOU NON BLACKS ARE IGNORANT TO THE FACTS OF US NON WHITES! It’s not hate, do you tell you non black friends above me that there saying hateful things, PROBABLY NOT, but you spotted my hate out……GO NIGGER..I MEAN FIGURE! You got dam right you struck a nerve, because every site I go to causes me to not hate, but be ashamed to be an American as well as you guys should be to. No one will agree with me because that’s hate, after what all I’ve said, someone should take a stand for something, rather it’s me, Obama, or Mike Vic, no one in this world is perfect…….THAT’S PRETTY MUCH THE DAM POINT I WAS MAKING…….”Dude”! It has all to do with Vic, Obama, as well as being non white, because you don’t talk on your own people, you know, you non blacks will say, oh, he made a mistake, lets just get over it, but when he’s black, you want to put a brotha under the prison. Remember, it’s about giving chances, your heart will feel better when you see a person will try to change, Obama didn’t do it because it was a good team, or good record, nor because he’s black, as you said, “Obamamessiah” did it cause he has a great heart…….PROBABLY THE REASON WHY HE’S THE ONLY PRESIDENT TO RECEIVE THE NOBEL PRIZE; HAS ANY NON black RECV’D IT? If I had to choose a none black Pres, it would be Clinton, ooops, my fault, I GUESS HE WAS BLACK TOO…LOL! We should treat every man/woman equally, but when we’re not treated fair, or given what we deserve, we’re going to express our dislike of it. Racism is the reason why we have our own station BET, because you’ll never show us, why we have our own pagents, you’ll never let the non black woman be the Queen, why we have our own award shows, because our black actors are hardly ever awarded, we have our own designer labels, but you’ll never buy them unless it’s P. Diddy’s or Roc A wear! All I’m saying is, you guys do just as much dirt as we do, hate on yourselfs as much as you do to us, then work it out as people & do the same with us……..THAT’S MY POINT! Kanye is not full of shit, a bit arrogant, but so was GW. See what your missing, it’s not about a child, nor murder, it’s about a dog, so yes I DO FEEL CHARITABLE “B”, & Obama has the right to get into anything thing he wants. One last thing, Vick is a great QB, if he had the offensive line like Brady, then yeah, he could be MVP, maybe not this year, but to be doing what he’s doing in 1 years time, then YES, his name should be mentioned. Brady can snap the ball, take a nap, brush his teeth, comb his hair, eat dinner, make love to his girl, take picture with you & still have time to throw to an open receiver. Hell, I should be QB for that team, Vick has become a pocket QB, but how can he stand in the pocket when his dam line won’t block, & half ass receivers not running routes correctly & dropping passes. Let the 2 QB’s switch teams, Vic would be the better in the pocket, & Brady can’t run, so would definitely get dropped in the pocket. I don’t just speak on the story above, I speak on ppl’s comments, some dumb, some ignorant, & some racist, there are some black racist in this world as well, but 90% are simply frustrated, upset, hurt, scared, & pissed, but rarely hate, because we don’t do hate crimes like NON BLACKS DO here in TX, & if you hear of a black crime, that’s probably a CRACK HEAD…LOL! Elmer, I liked your comment guy, & you’re probably none black!

If anything, Vick is an example of just the opposite. This clown has been afforded every opportunity his entire life because he could run a football. In the end, he was a dog killer.

Sorry if I don’t think that Vick’s story is some feel good one about redemption when it comes to second chances. There are many, 1000′s of people who have done more with less. I notice you said that if he wasn’t a QB or played sports, he would be a convicted felony, guess what, he still is. If he stopped playing ball now, he couldn’t get a job with that pending on him. But you said, they let him back, they let Ben Rothlisburger back too after rape, which is 100 times worse than what Vic did. But your ignorant, & don’t know any better. As for your little friend that “you think” became an FBI agent, good for him, becauase that is precisely what i had been saying that all black people are not the same. Nevertheless Scott, we go through way more circumstances than the non black folks do, you have know idea what it is to be non white. There’s an old movie called “Soul Man”, go check that out, it’s quite funny, but the ending is or sets the reality of being black & non black! So trust me what I say, because I was raised in a good area, as well as a urban area, & the shit you see, hear, & be around can cause negative motivation, especially when you see negative as well as racist remarks on these websites such as yours. Your probably bi-polar, so after you see that what you wrote, your probably trippin wondering how could you have written or thought that…..I have one word for you Scott…………….CRAZY!

Again my friend, Tom Brady has a great offensive line, but the games they lost this year were from being blitz, because he can’t handle pressure. He must of bought his offensive line new cars with Rolex watches, because they block like there life depends on it….But he’s great, YEAH, RIGHT! tHAT’S WHY THEY LOST THE SUPER bOWL 2 YEARS AGO. It will not be an outrage if Vic wins, this is a guy that came from perservearance, to a running QB, to learning to be a pocket QB, & winning at that, the Patriots learned how to cheat by watching the other teams plays….but there great, YEAH, RIGHT! This should not be a black or white issue, but you take it there w/ your comments, I’m just defending my none whites. Self motivation comes from wanting to overcome from bad situations, we non whites do it every dam day, you non blacks are fed with golden spoons in your mouths, so you don’t know the what self-motivations is, you just know the definition of it, go to the hood to try to overcome it, other than letting DAddy Warwick spoil you. Re #30: Sorry to disappoint you, Scott. Actually, I spent most of my life working two jobs and raising a family; not a lot of spare time, you know. Speaking of raising a family, I always taught my kids to be respectful of their elders and to discuss things rationally – without cursing and name-calling. Too bad your dad didn’t teach you those things. But I’m sure he knew his football…

Re #28: Biggest difference between you and Michael Vick? He can admit it when he’s wrong.

SM: You still didn;t answer my question, what’s the matter … don’t have an answer as to whho should or should not get a second chance? If some one killed a family member or friend of your, do you believe they deserve a second chance? If Vick killed your kid’s dog, think you would be so forgiving, dog?

Actually, the Biggest difference between Michael Vick and I is that I am not a dog killing ex-con. Actually, the difference is that I could not even contemplate killing dogs. And BTW, he admitted he was wrong only after he was found guilty and to save his ass to lighten his sentence.

@ SM: I answered the question, you just don’t read to well, & my name is not BTW. I told you, you don’t compare a dog to a human, but if he murdered anyone in mine or your family, then I expect justice to prevale, but since he didn’t & never has, then he’s already done his time for his crime.
“Biggest difference between you and Michael Vick? He can admit it when he’s wrong”.

Scott, SM, & Elmer, you guys have a great day, don’t be so judgeful to the brotha, do your ppl like that first like Big Benn. Vic was wrong, Obama is doing the best he can within the turmoil we’re in, if you put so much negative in your mind about either one, you’ll never get to learn them or any other “BTW” THAT YOU CALL US in this land of the brave. Obama is for the ppl, but he knows there are so many ppl that are hateful like you, that he has to take more time into figuring out how to help both sides. See, the problem is not him, most of you non blacks are pissed because his color is in the other non “black house”, & we not saying it’s a “non black mans world”……….YOU ALL HATE THAT! Stop hating, except what it is, stop giving the man or Vic problems, lets as ppl support others to become better for ppl like Vic. And lets be on our Commander in Chiefs side to help this Country, not disrespect him because he hasn’t touched you yet, but I wouldn’t neither, because of all the hate you have in for him. Some1 said above, if Vic wasn’t black, winning, or with the Eagles, he couldn’t get a job with his conviction, if Obama was a non black President, that person wouldn’t be getting all this flack…..GW PROVED THAT POINT FROM YOU ALL VOTING HIS SORRY ASS IN TWICE….SOME AMERICAN HERO, & HE WAS FOR THE PPL…YEAH RIGHT!!

I believe your statement above goes for yourself as well. I believe most people regardless of what race they are admit there fault afterwards, when he looked back at it, he knew it was wrong. He knew it was wrong while he was doing it, but if you wouldv’e watched his reality show, he admitted that.

Re #38: Nah, that’s ok. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to quit arguing with bullies. Think I’ll start a day early.
      _______________
SM: Dude, its not arguing … its called a debate and conversation. Some of you thin skinned folks need to really get a clue. Because some one disagrees with you does not make them a bully, it makes them some one who disagrees with your opinion. Now if some one threatens you or abuses yoy, that is a bully.

Many of you need to understand that to have a back and forth … is called a conversation. To mindlessly just put stuff out there with no reply is called boring.

      Have a Happy New Year,

I agree; Obama is lost in smallness and way over his head. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad. Some people will stick up for him no matter what he does. He has more important things he should be focusing on than this.

[...] and small minded President Obama has jumped on the Vick bandwagon. What a surprise for a president, lost in smallness. However, where was Barack Obama when the Eagles first signed Vick, he was no where to be found. [...]
