Classless … Jets Coaching Staff Sal Alosi Trips Miami Football Player Nolan Carroll Running Down the Sideline … C’MON MAN!

Are you serious … can you say CLASSLESS!

During yesterday’s NFL football game between the NY Jets and the Miami Dolphins, a member of the Jet’s coaching staff intentionally and purposely stuck his leg out and tripped a Miami player running down the sideline on punt coverage. How pathetically rotten and despicable could one be. To make matters worse, the player was injured.  Video here.

Is this what the Jets call swagger? We call it a complete lack of class. This is what it has come to with the Jets after being destroyed by the New England Patriots a week ago 45-3 and losing yesterday to Miami 10-6. All of Jets management should be ashamed of themselves and the individual who did this dastardly act should be fired.

This play happened with 2:58 left in the third quarter, when the Dolphins punted to Jets receiver Santonio Holmes(notes). As Holmes took the ball for a short return, cornerback Nolan Carroll(notes) was hurt on the right sideline as he rushed down to cover the play. The replay showed strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi extending his knee just enough to trip Carroll up on the play. Carroll was down for a minute, but returned to play later in the game.

Jets coach Sal Alosi – idiot of the week award

Jets coach Sal Alosi later admitted he interfered with Carroll. You made a mistake, really? You don’t think! You not only should be fined, the organization should as well and this coach should be terminated immediately. What is up with all the crap that has been going on with the Jets lately …Brett Favre/Jenn Sterger saga, Mexican reporter Ines Sainz sexual harassment and now this. Maybe it is an organizational issue.

“I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment,” Alosi said in a statement released by the Jets about 2½ hours after the game. “My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for.”

If the NFL is going to fine player for hits on QB’s that are nothing more than playing the game, they better fine this fool triple.

As you know Redsy I am the biggest J E T S fan you know and frequently harass these days.

This is a classless act on an athlete by a member of coaching staff and he should be fired immediately. Frankly, he is lucky he does not end up being charged with assault or the object of a civil action.

I will be shocked if Rex Ryan does not fire this kid himself, and it will seriously interfere with my ongoing coachcrush going forward if not.

Imagine if this player suffered a career ending injury because of this a-hole?

It is just inconceivable that you would suddenly stick your leg out and trip a player if you were not a complete POS.

How will the JETS get over this disgrace … bury the coach next the Patriot 45-3 loss football?

    3. Blink on December 13th, 2010 12:03 pm

You will get no argument from me, I am hard-line on this.

What Alosi did was flagrant, malicious, and has no place in the NFL.

His brother Pete is the S&C Coach for the Cardinals- maybe someone should ask him?

Besides, everybody knows if your going to trip anyone its Brady :)

Kidding, he would land on the soft bed of hair anyway.

The irony is that he won some sportsmanship award a couple of years back.

This guy should be banned from the NFL. This is almost Woody Hayes like…almost. The dude is an outright PUNK!

I wish I would have been the one tripped; the dude would be eating his food thru a straw.

Make fun of Brady all you want JETS fans; he owns you and the Patriots will own you AGAIN in Foxboro.

I’ve said all year Sanchez is a tad above an average QB and this team was severely OVER-HYPED ala the Dallas Cowgirls! I’m so sick of Rex Ryan and his big fat mouth. This team will not win a Super Bowl as long as Sanchez is the QB. People need to stop comparing him to Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan is leaps and bounds better than Sanchez…not even close.

      Hey Scott,

Blink is just messing with ya. She and I have a friendly rivalry with Pats and Jets. Don’t you know I gave her all kinds of grief after the 45-3 lambasting. :-)

Whether Sanchez ever becomes good is to ne seen. Frankly, I think Rex Ryan and Jets D is way over-rated. The whole team is. Before they did anything except a TV reality show, they talked smack … now they are left to do nothing more than eat humble pie.

Thats the way things are done in NY.

    7. Greg the Great on December 13th, 2010 5:06 pm

Look at the tape, all the coaches and players did not move back from the edge of the field. XXXXXXX

#6 … I think the JETS misunderstood the Texas A&M Aggies 12th man.

    9. Scared Monkeys on December 13th, 2010 5:13 pm

Hey Blink … are they going to have to bury Sal Alosi next to the PAT 45-3 game football?

If Rex keeps burying things in the Meadowlands evertime the JETS want to forget something, its only a matter of time before before they unearth Jimmy Hoffa.

Rex Ryan defended the indefensible act by saying he apologized. This is exactly the class that the Jets have or the lack thereof.

As long as one apologizes, that makes it ok. Hey Ryan, why don’t you apolgize again for the pathethic loser team you fielded the last couple of weeks.

Where is your big, cursing mouth now?

I cannot wait until the JETS play the STEELERS next week in the Steel city. The Jets will learn up close and personal what a real defense looks like and maybe Harrison will take a cheap shot on your QB. But it will be Ok, because he will apologize after the game.

    12. Carpe on December 14th, 2010 12:48 am

If you apologize in the NFL… you can even get away with torturing and murdering pets. It’s true!

      Very sad, but still true.

Michael Vick is still allowed to play.

A civilian would still be in jail. They do not get the “I’m Sorry” play. It’s GAME OVER, man.

I’m really sorry if I pissed a lot of people off with this post… all I ask, is that you stop me
at the part of what I have typed, that is NOT TRUE.

F the NFL, that’s no organization I want any part of, anymore. Call me a prude, I don’t care. When I look my dog in the eyes… she knows I made the right choice. …when I come home and she does her waggy tail dance… the spark in her eyes… holiiiie shit, Red… you’d think I was the President of something!!! She thinks I’m marvelous, little does she know. :)

… and yeah, that means more than 50 years worth of the NFL, to me.
SM: I agree with many of your points. I must say I am disgusted with the NFL, Philly fans and any other fools that suddenly have a love affair with Michael Vick as if he did not henious. Maybe next there will be a OJ Simpson restoration tour.

    13. Scott on December 14th, 2010 8:00 am

#7 – dumb dumb…very true; but ONLY one coach stuck his leg out to trip the player. Stop making excuses. New York fans are pathetic and so is Rex Ryan basically giving a slap on the wrist to the guy.

Like Red said, luckily the Dolphins player was not severely injured.

    14. listening on December 19th, 2010 10:04 pm

@ Carpe…Sometimes you don’t even have to apologize, just deny it(ahem…Ted Kennedy). Vick pulled his time. What’s that got to do with some dummy tripping a player? So stop being jealous of Vick and hating. And I don’t even want to know what goes on between you and your dog. Sounds like you need help.
SM: No one is being jealous of Vick. Sorry if playing football does not change our opinion that he is a scumbad dog killer. He can throw all the TD’s he wants, doesn’t chage the man. Because Vick was such a model citizen at VA Tech.

Vick need to shut up and go about his business. The fact that he even made a comment that referenced a dog shows he he a POS.
