NPR: Barack Obama’s Fat Lip Gives Him “Street Cred,” Scar Will Help Him Stare Down Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong Il or Putin

This is what the Obama foreign policy has come to, “street cred” through a fat lip? Who knew the Obama doctrine was “speak softly and carry a big fat lip.” NPR thinks the President getting punked by an elbow gives his street cred, how out of touch are these libs?

Just three weeks after getting a shellacking in the midterm elections, President Obama got a fat lip.

The president played basketball yesterday with some friends in the gym of the Fort McNair Army Base, and reportedly took an elbow in the mouth from an opposing player who went up for a shot.

It took 12 stitches to close The First Fat Lip, if you please. I’m not sure that Joe Frazier needed 12 stitches after the Thrilla in Manila, though the White House stressed that a smaller filament was used, which increases the number of stitches, but leaves a smaller scar.

As brilliantly stated by Weasel Zippers, “Oh yeah, instead of staring down a sissy, now they’ll be staring down a sissy with a scar…”.How clueless could the LEFT be? It would appear that they know about as much about sports as they do about politics. Trust me having played basketball, getting a fat lip is no badge of honor. I wonder what the doofuses of the LEFT would have said if Obama got his nose broken?

I wonder if having a larger scar wouldn’t actually fortify President Obama’s profile, as he contends with Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Vladimir Putin. Imagine a president with a gnarly, vivid scar telling the rulers of China, “Nice country ya’ got here. I’d hate to see something happen to it if you didn’t stop foolin’ around with the value of your currency. Know what I mean?”

But an elbow in the chops is a battle ribbon in basketball. Mediocre players don’t have to worry about their dental work. An elbow is given to aggressive players who swing their own sharp limbs to grab a ball or push off a defender, although the White House stressed that the president was elbowed inadvertently.

FBI Thwarts Terrorist Bombing Attempt by Somali Muslim Teen (Mohamed Osman Mohamud) at Portland, OR Christmas Tree Lighting

Once again the FBI have thwarted a bombing attempt in the US and the suspect is not a Baptist, Methodist, Quaker, Catholic, Amish, Presbyterianism, Mennonite, Congregationalist or Mormon. Guess what religious persuasion the suspected terrorist is?

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19 year old, Somali-born US citizen

The FBI has thwarted a terrorist bombing attempt in Portland, Oregon at a Christmas tree lighting. Mohamed Osman Mohamud, a 19 year old, Somali-born US citizen, was arrested just 18 minutes before the tree lighting was to occur. Mohamud was taken away and arrested by the FBI and Portland Police Bureau after he attempted to detonate what he believed was an explosives-laden van parked near the tree-lighting ceremony.

The FBI thwarted an attempted terrorist bombing in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square before the city’s annual tree-lighting Friday night, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon.

A Corvallis man, thinking he was going to ignite a bomb, drove a van to the corner of the square at Southwest Yamhill Street and Sixth Avenue and attempted to detonate it.

However, the supposed explosive was a dummy that FBI operatives supplied to him, according to an affidavit in support of a criminal complaint signed Friday night by U.S. Magistrate Judge John V. Acosta.

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, a Somali-born U.S. citizen, was arrested at 5:42 p.m., 18 minutes before the tree lighting was to occur, on an accusation of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Obama Gets Elbowed in the Mouth, 12 Stiches in Upper Lip While Playing Basketball

Obama takes yet another smack in the mouth …

First Barack Obama took one on the chin during the 2010 midterm elections, now The One takes an elbow in the mouth and receives 12 stitches. I guess Obama should have stuck to the golf course instead, rather than trying to play basketball. However, the 12 stitches and crack in the mouth isn’t anything compared to the butt-kicking Obama suffered recently with the loss of 62 House seats, 6 US Senate seats, 6 Governor seats and 680+ state legislature races.

What a photo-op … could an aid have told Obama to get away from the window?

President Barack Obama needed 12 stitches in his upper lip after taking an errant elbow during a pickup basketball game Friday morning with family and friends visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday, the White House said.

First word of the injury came in a statement from press secretary Robert Gibbs nearly three hours after the incident.

The White House did not initially name the person who caused the injury, but identified him later Friday as Rey Decerega, director of programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Obama received the stitches under local anesthesia in the doctor’s office on the ground floor of the White House after returning home. Doctors used a smaller filament than typically used, which increases the number of stitches but makes a tighter stitch and leaves a smaller scar.

The president had gone to nearby Fort McNair to indulge in a game of basketball, one of his favorite athletic pursuits. It was a five-on-five contest involving family and friends. Among the players were Obama’s nephew, Avery Robinson, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Reggie Love, Obama’s personal assistant, who played at Duke University.

So was this an inadvertent elbow or a message as questioned by Macsmind? As it turns out the culprit was Rey Decerega, he works for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Maybe this was a message to pass comprehensive illegal immigration?

Barack Obama Poll Trending Point to being a One Term President and Defeat in 2012

Some one might want to tell Barack Obama it is not 2008 anymore.

Those who voted in Obama in 2008 have seem to abandoned him. As Byron York says, the coalition he led to victory in 2008 has frayed in just two years. Obama has downward polling numbers with independents, women, men, old, young and those in between. The One also has lower trending polling data with whites, Hispanics and even black.  If the trends continue, Obama will be a one term President and a One term “One-der”

We’re fast approaching the halfway point in Barack Obama’s term. With Nov. 2 behind him, everything the president does will be calculated to boost, or at least not harm, his chances of re-election in 2012. What’s not clear is whether he fully appreciates how badly the coalition he led to victory in 2008 has frayed in just two years. A look inside his poll numbers suggests that if he cannot turn around some key trends, he’ll be a one-term president.

Just look at the exit polls from 2008, which reveal the demographic contours of Obama’s support. Compare those with Gallup’s weekly analysis of the president’s approval rating, drawn from multiple polls broken down by age, gender, political philosophy, and the like. Throw in some insights from the midterm elections, and the mix shows a dramatic deterioration in Obama’s 2008 support. “His majority coalition is not there,” says Republican pollster David Winston. “What he put together, at least in the way he put it together, just isn’t there.”

Take a look at those that Obama won in 2008, if the trends continue, Obama will lose. What a shock that Obama has lost ground with so many polling demographics, as if the 2010 midterm elections and the political carnage at the hands of the Democrat party was not a noticeable mark.

BCS Fiasco … What If Auburn & Oregon Lose While Boise St and TCU Win Out?

Could it be BCS Armageddon today?

Today I am the biggest Alabama and Arizona fan, not so much because I dislike Auburn, even though I think they are overrated. Nor do I dislike Oregon, although I can’t stand their video game offense. They both need to lose so that we can have the BCS in complete disarray to have a playoff system finally implemented in Division I college football.

The BCS and the arrogant BCS qualifying conferences are on the verge of having an uninvited guest at the party. Presently the Oregon Ducks out of the PAC10 and the Auburn Tigers from the SEC are numbers 1 and 2 in the BCS rankings. However … this Thanksgiving holiday NCAA college football weekend could be a major headache for the BCS powers that be. Boise St and more importantly Alabama and Arizona might just throw a monkey wrench in the BCS.

My personal opinion is that Alabama will beat Auburn. Handily might I add. The defending National Champions did not win the SEC West this year and will have no better motivation than to defeat Auburn in the “Iron Bowl”. ROLL TIDE!!!

What is both Auburn and Oregon lose and become a one loss team, while Boise St and TCU become #1 and #2 in the BCS rankings? What to do? Imagine the screaming, crying, whining and belly aching that will come from the major conferences.

If #3 Boise St beats #19 Nevada, then there should be no reason why the ”Blue” smurf turf BSU Broncos should not go to #2.  Game on as they would have the inside track to a BCS National Championship game.

UPDATE I: YIKES … The Crimson Tide of Alabama have gone out to a 14-0 lead over the Tigers. I can hear Keith Jackson from his home saying … Whoa Nellie!!! The Auburn defense is as advertised, non-existent.

UPDATE II: Alabama scores again … make it 21-0 Bama … ROLL TIDE!!!

UPDATE III: Alabama 24 – Auburn 0

Half Time: Total Domination. At the half Bama leads 24 – 7 over Auburn, although they should be up 38-7 but for dropped passes and turnovers. Will this come back to bite Bama? Alabama as leads in total yards, 379 to 87. It has been a total mismatch in the first half. One must ask them self who is the Heisman candidate? Cam Newton passing 5-10, 97 yards, 1 TD and 9 carries and -10 yards. Meanwhile Tide QB Greg McElroy is 19-23, 335 yards and 3 TD’s all just in the first half.

Whether Auburn ever gets their offense in gear is one question, but how is the Tiger defense going to stop anyone? Thus the reason why I never wanted to see them in a BCS Championship game against an offense like Oregon.

UPDATE IV:Well Alabama’s screw ups in the first half let Auburn back in the game. They could have finished off Auburn in the first half, instead they let them hang around and now the score is Alabama 24, Auburn 21. The Tide better get their act in gear or Sabin is looking at a 3 loss season in SEC play.

UPDATE V: Let’s call it for what it is … THIS SUCKS! Auburn wins 28-27 as Alabama allows the Tigers to win. UNREAL. This game was lost in the 1st half. Never would I ever think that Bama would let a team roll over them in the second hald on their home field. Bear Bryant just rolled over in his grave.
