UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS REPORT … Unemployment Benefits Jump 12,000 to 465,000

More bad jobs news …

Weekly jobless claims at 465,000 … up 12,000. So much for Obama’s claim of heading in the right direction and the summer of job recovery. The number of people who filed new claims for unemployment benefits jumped 12,000 to 465,000 in the latest week, emphasising that fact that so many common sense Americans realize every day, but the Obama WH wants to hide from, no one is hiring.

In the week ending Sept. 18, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 465,000, an increase of 12,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 453,000. The 4-week moving average was 463,250, a decrease of 3,250 from the previous week’s revised average of 466,500.

The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending Sept. 11 was 4,489,000, a decrease of 48,000 from the preceding week’s revised level of 4,537,000. The 4-week moving average was 4,519,500, an increase of 2,500 from the preceding week’s revised average of 4,517,000.

Unless Obama gets away from more government spending and higher taxes, small and big businesses alike are not going to hire. This is the back drop to the unveiling of the republicans “Pledge To America“. Forty days out to the 2010 midterm elections and the economy is getting worse not better for the Democrat controlled House, Senate and Presidency.

Why is it always a jobless claim increase unexpected? I for one believe that the numbers are higher than the govment wants you to believe. To me its not unexpected that we keep losing jobs because in my mind; anytime they say jobless claims fell; it’s bullshiZ!
