Dry Terror Run? Two Men on United Flight from Chicago Arrested in the Netherlands

Just two more misunderstood Muslims practicing their freedom of religion and their freedom to tape cell phones to Pepto-Bismol bottle and perform a dry terror run. Oh, I am sure there is just a completely innocent explanation to this, NOT!

Two men have been arrested on a United Airlines fight from Chicago in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The suspects,  Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezem al Murisi, are believed to have been  performing a dry terrorist run. The question that needs to be asked is how did these two even get as far as Amsterdam after being “red flagged” for screening previously? Maybe these guys were just moderates otherwise they would have had cell phones taped to Maalox instead.

U.S. officials said the two appeared to be travelling with what were termed “mock bombs” in their luggage. “This was almost certainly a dry run, a test,” said one senior law enforcement official.

A spokesman for the Dutch public prosecutor, Ernst Koelman, confirmed the two men were arrested this morning and said “the investigation is ongoing.” He said the arrests were made “at the request of American authorities.”

 Terror dry run?

Because every normal law abiding individual carries a cell phone taped to Pepto-Bismol bottle, carries box cutters, knives in their luggage and then gets on a plane headed for a different destination than their luggage.

In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O’Hare.

Once in Chicago, officials say they learned al Soofi checked his luggage on a flight to Washington’s Dulles airport for connections on flights to Dubai and then Yemen, even though he did not board the flight himself.

Instead, officials say, al Soofi was joined by the second man, Al Murisi, and boarded the United flight from Chicago to Amsterdam.

Just curious as is Weasel Zippers, why did the TSA allow Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi to board an airplane with his luggage intact after catching him with $7K in cash, a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, a box cutter and three large knives? Good question. Maybe their TSA memo stated that a suspected terrorist had to possess C4 or other explosive devices? Maybe some one from the TSA would like to explain themselves as to how they endangered passengers from what was an obvious bizarre situation. But I guess because they were Muslim, that made it normal and acceptable to have a cell phone taped to a bottle of Pepto!

Political correctness will be the death of us. If it looks like a terrorist and acts like a terrorist, guess what TSA … ITS A TERROIST!

Lets be serious a minute, we are just a breath away from another big attack in this country with all the crazies out there and our security!

Dry run for Sept. 11 or the 12 ? Sounds like a cell phone bomb run over DC? Wipe out some diplomats at the same time. Water board the SOBS.

    3. nurturer69 on August 31st, 2010 8:10 am

The fact these morons got onboard is a stark demonstration to how much the 9/11 attacks have been forgotten.

Nevertheless, I have more faith in ‘passenger security’ than in the dipshites at the x-ray counter. One of these stands up and says ‘I have a bomb!’ will bring back to the collective memory the ‘I have bomb’ hoax used by the 9/11 attackers to control the passengers that day.

These guys would be handed over to security on the ground in the form of minced meat.

      funny :
Here in NL its forbidden by law to name the suspects.
So I heared on the news what happened (2 Arabian guys)and then you look online…and you find the whole biografie

Internet has caught up with that law.

and if they were making a dryrun…they are so absolutely stupid

silly question! The answer is easy: because he was Muslim and it would be RACCCCCCCCCCCISTTTTTT

this is just the tip of the terrorist iceberg and the obama administration wants to befriend these
terrorists ? it’s ok guys, eric holder will set you free to bomb again.

    8. A Texas Grandfather on August 31st, 2010 1:30 pm

Who makes up the great majority of terrists? The mid-East population.

It is time to stop being “politically correct” and start profiling these people when they buy a ticket on any form of transportation.

This is the price the good muslims will have to pay for not stepping up and doing the right thing regarding Jihad.

yet another missing post-that damn spam monster folder strikes again. Please re-post thanks

Who’s the idiot at the Chicago airport that allowed this to pass inspection, was he a Muslim too. I didn’t think you could board an airline with knives in your luggage. They have already bombed and killed 3000 people but yet they were passed through security. This Muslim s~~t has to stop. Obama is behind it all.

    11. fearless civilian on August 31st, 2010 7:22 pm

Well it looks like their was a logical explanation after all, bringing cell phones to relatives don’t make you a terrorist,7000 dollars is cash we went to europe with 30 years ago,you must think lowly of your visitors to only incite hate ,fear and incomplete coverage of present day events.

    12. brie. on August 31st, 2010 9:12 pm

When you purchase new cell phones they come in a box with instructions. And you need a charger to go with the phones. Not taped to a Pepto Bismol bottle. You carry a box cutter and knives, which would be considered weapons. Has Obama changed our security regulations? There’s nothing logical about this!!!!! They shouldn’t of been allowed to enter the plane.

    13. Dolf on September 1st, 2010 1:50 am

correct, at least not like they did.

      lastest news: no terrorists.
SM: The same thing that was said about Army officier Hassan and the Time Sq bomber in the beginning.

Please, these folks are terrorists. Do not even begin to tell us that people tape watches to pepto-bismol, have box cutters in their luggae if they are not trying to probe the system.

Come on, have we learned nothing since 9-11.

    14. super dave on September 1st, 2010 7:13 am

dolf: these terrorists are being enabled by the obama administration, known muslim sympathizers.
obama has stated his muslim faith. has stated that he will stand with the muslims.
this should have been enough to boot him out of the country.

    15. Michelle Smith on September 1st, 2010 8:31 am

#11 Get a effin clue. Who tapes cell phones to Pepto-Bismol bottles? Who packs knives & boxcutters in their luggage? Ordinary people? NOT EVEN

These guys are terrorists. It’s not rocket science.

Still making excuses I see. Nobody is inciting hate here. We are simply pointing out the facts. Something that escapes you obviously.

Really sad that you can’t see what is going on.

    16. Dolf on September 1st, 2010 9:09 am

accoording to the FBI and Homeland Security they were not terrorists.

a that the alarm was prompted after the luggage was put on the wrong flight.
The stuff wsn’t illegal to travel with.

Dutch police still have them in custody.

    17. Dolf on September 1st, 2010 9:21 am

and who knows how ppl from Yemn ship here things.

come here at summerbrea and see what and how the ppl from Morocco and Turkey carry tuff home.

If you ask me; would I pack my luggage like that..well no, you would look like a terrorist.

    18. Dolf on September 1st, 2010 9:51 am

well those “facts” are apparently (and thankfully) wrong.
Don’t ask me, ask your FBI

And when I travel, I do usualy bring a knife which I pack in my suitcase.
And I trid that pepto-bismal, the ppl who make that crap are terrorists.

    19. Scott on September 1st, 2010 11:42 am

Dude…give it a rest. They are absolutely terrorists and you dumbarse country can’t screen people correctly…hello underwear bomber.

Good for you, for what you pack…WGAF!

Keep believing what our lying admistration puts out in the media idiot!

There is a reason for trying to quelch this; ever heard of Sept 11th which is right around the corner?

      Get lost.

    20. FL on September 1st, 2010 12:11 pm

Two suspect have been released. It remains a strange situation why someone puts a very large tape (not ordinary tape you normally use) to hold a few cellular phones together. Once you remove that large blue tape, I guess these phones will remain sticky for a long time. I hope they will follow these guys 24*7.

    21. fearless civilian on September 1st, 2010 1:38 pm

they were screened by multiple authorities, from multiple countries, has it occured to you that because 9/11 is around the corner people are paranoid ?
@FL it’s not my choice either, maybe it was there way of “securing” the packages they brought to family members.I use duck tape for more reasons than I should myself.

    22. Dolf on September 1st, 2010 1:44 pm

scott, that wgaf…did you choke on your own stupidity?

    23. NGBoston on September 1st, 2010 6:18 pm

      #22- @Dolf

      WGAF= Who Gives A F*ck

Let’s use it in a sentence, shall we? Here is today’s Grammar lesson for EURO Trash Dolf…

When Dolf makes annoying and ignorant comments on the board, most readers simply laugh at his nonsense and the dribble rolling down his chin. Then, considering the source, the average blogger ask themselves one question–which leads them all to one simple conclusion:

      WGAF about Dolf, anyway?

      Answer: No one.

    24. Scared Monkeys on September 2nd, 2010 6:39 am

Sorry, but they (the MSM and govt) said that the Time Sq almost bomber was not a terrorist either. Then suddenly they located a terror cell they knew nothing about.

Ok, want to use semantics, either two were not terrorists … they were probes. Low level asses who were expendable in a high stakes game of terrorism.

Obviously they were probing the system.

    25. Dolf on September 2nd, 2010 12:05 pm

that would be such a stupid move.
don’t think the terrorists are that stupid.

yes, they would sacrifice those men blindly.
but what do they gain? That the US intelligence is giving it a real close look?
That all the airport securities are woken up?
Because if they wanted to know if they could, all they had to do is go online and the broadcasts of the tv reporters who did the same thing.

    26. Dolf on September 2nd, 2010 12:06 pm

      …and watch the broadcasts….

    27. NGBoston on September 3rd, 2010 8:01 pm

      And this just in:

……** El-Gamal has so-far DECLINED to reveal the names of his other financial backers, but has said the eight-member group is diverse *****

Read in between the lines, America. America needs to get behind a full-scale investigation of the “funding” which El-Gamal is “DECLINING” to reveal. Hinky Meter alert!

    28. Dolf on September 8th, 2010 8:53 am

      a) I would not divulge that info to a reporter ethe.
      b) Investigation is required

      c) hinky meter?
