17 year old Norma Lopez has been missing since Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Moreno Valley, CA . Norma Lopez never returned home after attending summer school classes Thursday morning at Valley View High School. Police fear that she might have been abducted or kidnapped.

According top police they have found items belonging to the missing Norma Lopez in a field near her home and there also were signs of a possible struggle. It is also being reported that police are also looking for the driver and passengers of a newer model green SUV seen near the dirt field at the time of her disappearance
Norma was reported missing around 12:30 p.m. Thursday by her older sister, Sonja, after she did not return home from summer school, Sgt. Joe Borja said at a Friday news conference.
She was attending classes at Valley View High School and was out of class by 10 a.m., Borja said. The teen often took a shortcut through a dirt field located southeast of the school.
“She had plans to meet her sister and another friend,” Borja said. “When she didn’t arrive they began looking for her. They looked for approximately two hours, they looked in the dirt field and along the trail that she normally walks through and found some property belonging to her.”

UPDATE II: An unidentified body has been found in a remote farming area around Dracaea Avenue and Theodore Street at the far east end of Moreno Valley, a few miles from Valley View High School where Norma Lopez was a student.

Barin Butler, 44, who owns a horse ranch near the scene where the body was found said he had been driving around his property the day before and did not see anything suspicious.
“Whoever it is, it’s still bad,” he said. “But I hope it’s not the girl who’s missing.”]

sad I hope they find her alive. We are living in dangerous times be it day or night. I am saying this in regards to the amount of predators/sex offenders running amuck in our communities.

I tell you why, if a guy gets a girl pregnant. They might look for a place to ‘enlope’, I know a niece that got pregnant her boyfriend took her to a friend out of state with her other sister under 18. Gone for 2 weeks, not in the uNiversity dorm.
The danger for young girls and women in our country has become so great that we may have to go back to techniques used in the 19th century where no female was allowed to travel any distance without male escorts or in a group with chanparones.
Until we set our moral values back on track, we will continue to see young women attacked. It has to start with the family and fathers need to get actively involved in creating a safe environment for their girls.

i pray for norma and her family. this is so sad. my daughter goes to school with norma and we searched for her and passed out fliers all day sunday and want to do more. we need the community leaders and media to get behind us on this. It has become a normal part of growing up for ALL young men today…as regular as playing baseball or brushing your teeth. worried mom i completely understand your feelings. my daughter goes to school with norma and we live within walking distance too. however this is something none of us are imune to as sad as that is there are too many creeps out there harming our childrenn and we must stay alert and protect our kids every minute. i just wonder what we can do to get our community leaders more involved in our fight and work harder and more vigilant when these things happen? ill say it again no k9 search until 3 days later and never ever an amber alert??? Do Neighborhood watches together and report anything suspicious to Law Enforcement, which you can all do anonomously, without giving your names. Ask the Mayor of your Town if he/she can attain more media coverage on Norma Lopez’s Murder and Abduction, perhaps get the story more exposure on “America’s Most Wanted” for example and everyone can join together to help catch the evil Monster who did this to her.

I know this because he was subleasing the mobile home in the front to my family until late March 2010 and because of ignored work orders we were forced to move because it was condemned by the city for safety reasons.

Nothing can make her come back but atleast her body was found and her soul is now resting in peace. I really cant believe that there are people out there that can do such things.
