Joran Van der Sloot, the suspect in the first degree murder of Stephany Flores in Peru and Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, wants $1 million from the media for an exclusive TV interview. PLUEZE! Van der Sloot claims he wants it for his legal defense. If any one in the media is that ignorant to pay a habitual liar who has already gone on media outlets numerous times and lied about his involvement in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway, a have a bridge to sell you.

New York Post, amongst others, announced the aforementioned. According to the newspaper, Joran also wants this more than generous compensation from Dutch TV-producer Global Star Media, who also held the interview with Anita van der Sloot. According to reports, an amount above one hundred thousand dollars was paid for that interview. Notorieties-blog popeater.com reported this yesterday and bases such on sources within the TV-industry. For instance, a media executive in the blog states that an interview with Joran behind bars would yield ‘extremely high ratings’. “If you see what the actors from comedy series Friends are paid per 30-minute episode, then the one million dollars from Joran is a bargain.”
Joran Van der Sloot is a one trick pony. Commit a crime, lie about it, make a confession, retract the confession and then go on TV and get paid by the media to spew his lies, feed his narcism and profit from his crimes. MEDIA, WHAT PART ABOUT JORAN VAN DER SLOOT BEING A SOCIOPATH DON”T YOU FOLKS GET?

Does anyone not see the irony or the insanity in that Joran Van der Sloot was just indictedin the United States on extortion charges and wire fraud? What was the extortion? Van der Sloot was extorting Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mom, promising information as to what happened to Natalee Holloway and where her remains could be found. He lied. Joran Van der Sloot was looking to extort $250,000 for this information.
So now he ups his extortion demands to $1,000,000 for an exclusive interview with the media. Who would be stupid enough to throw this type of money away when Joran van der Sloot has a track record of lying to the media? If any one takes him up on his offer, I can only hope that the families of Stephany Flores and Natalee Holloway sue for the proceeds.
Even Joran Van der Sloot’s mother thinks he might be guilty in the death of Stephany Flores. What would be the reason why the Little Dutch boy would tell the truth in a TV interview? It would behoove him to formulate his lies prior to any trial. He certainly is not going to admit guilt.
Why would anyone want Joran Van der Sloot to profit from not just one crime, but two!

Who gets paid for interviews does matter. Mama Sloot, ex-girlfriend I can see it, rationalize it. Joran, who just recently attempted to extract 1/4 of a million dollars and lied once again– no money, no way.
That’s an insult to the judicial systems of Peru and the US. Joran refuses to give any statement to the judge but he’s willing to talk to media for money.
Paying Joran would put into question the integrity of the media responsible for such an insanely unconscionable act!
A lot of bad press would come of it. Bad press, under any circumstances is not a bargain.
Ultimately future viewership could be greatly compromised. I would no longer watch or read anything from that media outlet due to my values.
Does the Peruvian legal system include civil law as we have here in the US? I’d like to see the Flores and Holloway families initiate civil proceedings, if they haven’t already, to block Joran from profiting like Ron Goldman’s father did with OJ Simpson. If money is so important to JVDS then take away every opportunity to garner it.
Isn’t it time for Joran to be placed in general population? He deserves to be treated the same as the other inmates, not better. Stop the preferential treatment. Joran is not entitled to better treatment than any other inmate. He doesn’t deserve private quarters or the same food as the guards. Time for a serious “reality check” and a new living arrangement.

If Joran recieve’s around a million dollars or any large amount of money and everybody in prison know’s about it, how long before someone or some group will demand payment from him to keep him alive? The money will not last long, what happen’s when Joran makes his last payment?

Well I for one am sorry to say it but as long as Joran is front and center in the media so is Natalee. That is the awful truth of the matter.

They do have something similar to the “Son of Sam” law in Peru, however you have to be convicted of the crime.. before you can’t collect.. I have two questions for those that may know about the law. If her survives the prison in Peru, and is brought to the US to be tried for extortion, will that give the US any right or claim to do anything about Natalee? If not for murder, then wrongful death possibly?
If so, then I’d say get him the interview, give him the Million ONLY after there’s 150% positive proof Natalee is returned to her family… then have her family sue his ass for 1 Million and 1 dollars in a wrongful death suit.
I really don’t think he will make it his entire sentence in Peru (a gal can hope) but thinking of ways to make sure he never takes another free breath.

This can be easily fixed by having Castro Castro limit its media coverage. No journalists or reporters in the prison. And ban all media devices Cameras, Recorders etc. Remove all his visitors except the Dutch Embassy.

Anyone following the five year old mystery of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway on a graduation trip to Aruba won’t be suprised to hear that Joran van der Sloot is capable of crafty, cynical behavior.
Van der Sloot, the prime suspect in Natalee’s disappearance, is sitting in a Peruvian prison accused of the murder of 21 year old student Stephany Flores. Van der Sloot has reportedly told Peruvian police he killed Flores after she found material relating to Holloway on his laptop. Her body was found in his hotel room and he was the immediate subject of an international manhunt before his arrest in neighboring Chile.
CBS48 Hours Mystery has some insight into how van der Sloot evaded police as he fled Peru.
Peru police told 48 Hours | Mystery that they believe Joran van der Sloot, the man accused of killing Peruvian student Stephany Flores, disposed of the SIM card in his cell phone before he was apprehended.
After van der Sloot was caught in Chile, cops confiscated his cell phone. Police later found that the SIM card had been removed.
Why would van der Sloot ditch his SIM card?
According to 23-year NYPD veteran Vinny Marra, investigators can use cell phones to pinpoint the exact location of the phone, and so, the person carrying it.
But in order to do so, the cell phone must be in working condition.
Without the SIM in the phone, investigators could not use this tactic to track van der Sloot’s location while he was fleeing Peru after allegedly committing the murder.

But wait. Maybe the videos were doctored. Maybe the blood on JVDS clothes is not really Stephany’s blood. Maybe the details in his confession are fabricated, even though only someone that was actually in the room could have known them. Maybe JVDS did not steal money, credit cards, Stephany’s car. The reason the confession has not been thrown out is because for once in Joran’s life, he may have actually told the truth.

Speaking of interviews for money..there is a very interesting set of interviews Joran gave to Jap Ameesz, it is in dutch and it is an eight part set available on youtube. It culminates in a lie detector test which Joran agrees to and OF COURSE fails. The test is given by a woman and one definitely sees Joran’s disrespect for her.Even though the interviews are in dutch one can clearly see the manipulative nature of Joran as he speaks and pretends to cry and how his anger builds up when the woman tells him he is lying. The anger buildup is terrifying and ends with Joran shattering a glass against the wall. Check out this set of videos they are fascinating!
Always, in the end, this is about Natalee Holloway, Stephany Flores and their families. As much as Joran wants to keep the spotlight on himself it still comes back to a tragic loss of 2 promising young women with bright futures that never came to fruition. It’s about a loss the families will continue to have long after the trials are over.
To have such a low regard for human life, to attack with such viciousness and anger. Joran has not only broken our earthly laws, he’s broken one of the Ten Commandments.
I applaud the Holloway and Flores families. Their strength, courage and faith are admirable.
Stephany’s death should never have happened. Joran, his Dad, and Aruba are culpable. Latterly, Anita covered up. Just shows you, Paulus would have been a rotten Judge…more interested in expediency than the law. Paulus involved so many LE people, so quickly, that when the case became internationally known, law enforcement then had to continue the cover up still going on to protect themselves and their jobs. Hard to believe that five years in nobody has blabbed (with the exception of Joran…who blabs lies continuosly.)

Joran doesn’t have to say much.. Just look at the tape..at the hotel..His confession says he went out to get coffee and when he came back, Stephany was on the laptop and seen he was linked to Natalee Holloway. It is clear now from watching the tapes, he brought the empty cups out of his room and pretended to get coffee.. and pretended he was locked out of his room. Stephany doesn’t answer his knock..because she is not alive to answer. He has to go get someone at the desk to unlock the door.. Just another part of his farce.. Clearly when the guy opens the door, Stephany isn’t alive.. so no way he came back from getting coffee and found her on his laptop. He tried to even claim, she punched him when she seen it. This is one of the scariest kinds of humans to me. They appear so normal, but are anything but. Not to mention, he dyed his hair, said he sat on the bed and ate and drank coffee trying to decide what to do with her body. Robbed her.. stole her car, and ran for the border without even notifying anyone at the desk he was leaving..and leaving an unpaid hotel bill.

He’s accused so many people of so many things so many times no one knows what is real. The little boy that cried wolf.
