Amy Bishop Charged First Degree Murder in 1986 Shooting Death of her Brother Seth Bishop

Back to the Future … Amy Bishop, the liberal college professor who gunned down three fellow colleagues at the University of Alabama at Huntsville has been charged with yet another murder.

Amy Bishop has been indicted on first degree murder charges in the 1986 shooting death of her brother Seth Bishop. The shotgun shooting in Braintree, MA was originally thought to be an accident by Norfolk County authorities. All that has now changed and under investigation following Amy Bishop’s shooting rampage this past February in Huntsville, AL.

The slaying of Seth Bishop was declared an accident by Norfolk County authorities at the time. But questions were raised about the investigation after Bishop, a college professor, was charged in February in a shooting rampage at the University of Alabama Huntsville. Three of Bishops’ colleagues were fatally shot and three wounded in that case.

Keating said an indictment warrant has been lodged with Alabama authorities. He indicated that he would give the Alabama triple murder case priority. Asked whether Bishop would ever be tried in Massachusetts for murder, Keating said, “You never know.”

No charges against anyone else are expected from the grand jury.

It was discovered following the triple homicide shooting deaths of three UA Huntsville professors, that Amy Bishop had a past when it came to shooting deaths.

I’m wondering if UAH did a background check on Amy Bishop before hiring her. If they did – why didn’t this history show up? If this history of behavior was on her background check, then WHY did UAH hire her???

I live 15 minutes from UAH and my dd and hubby graduated from there. According to the president of UAH a background check was done…so I have no clue unless it was because her brother’s shooting was listed as an accident it would not show up on any type of report I dont think…would it? Dunno.
This lady is a true nut..I am glad all this is coming out about her and am glad she was charged in her brother’s death. Our community has been saddened by the loss of the teachers…my daughter had adriel johnson as her advisor so it has been sad to our family. I would like to say if it had not been for Debra Moriarity on that terrible day many more would have possibly died.

Great point, J4N. If they did do one, maybe they wrote it off as a tragic accident and felt sorry for her.
I feel so sad for the victims and their friends and loved ones remaining. She is a selfish and cruel person who could only find fault in others without looking within.
Tragic, sad, she’s caused too much grief.
Are her parents still living? I wonder because I wonder how they would feel about her being indicted for murdering their son, her brother.

All you have to know is that she is obsessed with Obama. She’s your typical loon liberal leftist puke!

    5. sherry gibbs on June 17th, 2010 7:52 am

Yes her parents are still alive. They had to testify in the recent hearing over the brother’s shooting..

She says the shooting at UAH never happened. Doesn’t sound like she is dealing with reality, but she doesn’t need therapy, she needs to be locked away (forever) for the safety of others.

Thanks for this story; I hadn’t heard any updates on this psycho since the Huntsville shooting. This is another psycho and it was so obvious that she’d killed her brother and gotten away with it until now…

    8. Darleen on June 17th, 2010 10:05 am

That psycho shouldn’t have gotten away with murdering her brother in the first place; to paraphrase one of the Kalpoe brothers: “her own mother…”

Woman has severe mental health issues.

Massachusetts did her no favors in not prosecuting her for the “accidental” death of her Brother in the 80′s.

She needs some help in a facility for the criminally insane. Lock her up, and don’t let her out into society again. A brilliant academic mind gone bad.

Buh-Bye, Amy Bishop. Massachusetts is embarrassed you came from here.

I heard that since the death of her brother was considered an accident, then there would be nothing of this incident on her record.

    11. Susan on June 17th, 2010 6:53 pm

Seems that Amy Bishop’s parents are also “not in touch with reality”, due to the fact they wanted to believe Seth’s death was “an accident”. BS!! Amy Bishop killed her own brother in cold blood and got away with it for years!! Thank God justice has finally been served for Seth, no matter how long it took :-)

      Burn in HELL, Amy Bishop!!!!!!!!

#5 Sherry – How sad for them. Parents can never get over the death of a child…and now this! She sure wasn’t thinking of their feelings when she murdered AGAIN.

#11 Susan – They made themselves believe it was an accident. They had to. It must have been heartwrenching then, still with doubt – that is, if they are half-way normal. Don’t know much about them.
      She is one sick witch.
She blamed her brother for whatever and in her mind he deserved to die – and now, she convinced herself that these people deserved to die, too, for being so disrespectful of her.
She was obviously whacko and that’s why they didn’t give her tenure. In her mind, it was all their fault.
      What a hateful, selish person.
Are there any other siblings or family? I have to wonder what her childhood was like. The whole thing is tragic and sickening.

This is a case where LE did not do a proper investigation and refused to believe the evidence that was present. Small town police sometimes decide for whatever reason to ignore evidence and take the word of the family. This family was disfunctional and Amy Biship was not prosocuted in deference to the family.
Only one police officer wanted to arrest her for murder and he was told to shut up.
I am glad that almost thirty years later they are going to give justice to her brother.

#13 – yes, TX GP – it’s hard to believe even today, but back then, well, in people’s minds there was NO WAY a young woman could EVER take a person’s life on purpose, especially her own brother’s – and then lie about it being “just an accident.”
To LE, she was innocent before they even questioned her.
Blood, much blood, is on their hands because they could not fathom that a young woman was capable of intentional murder. Patronizing kills and lets off the murderer. Lotsa women can and do kill.
