When the going gets tough, the Obama get’s going … going on vacation that is.
There are wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, tensions are high with North Korea, nuclear escalation troubles in Iran and an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that could be a disaster beyond proportion to the states of Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. So what does Barack Hussein Obama do? Go on vacation of course to Chicago.
To Obama, this is more important that going to Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day
According to a White House official, the Obamas will arrive Thursday and stay until Monday, when Obama will participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. The veterans’ cemetery is about 50 miles south of Chicago.
A top adviser to Obama, David Axelrod, recently took in a play at the Goodman Theatre about the civil rights movement, and that has some speculating that the Obamas will show up for “The Good Negro,” which is making its Chicago premiere.
However, what will Obama not be doing? The President of the United States of America while men and woman of the US Armed Forces are in harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan will not be going to Arlington National Cemetery and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
This action by Obama is beyond unconscionable. I am glad to see that this President has his priorities in place.
But wait, know what Obama does have time for to attend? Obama will make it back to Washington, DC to honor Paul McCarthy for the sacrifices he has made to America and the preservation of our liberties and freedom.
America, how is that “Hopey, Changey” thing working out for you? We need to know nothing more about Obama’s character than his actions of being the Commander in Chief and not honoring the fallen heroes of the United States on Memorial Day … WHAT A DISGRACE.
I guess Chris Matthews was right about Obama and the military. Is it any wonder why Obama received little applause at this weekends commencement speech at West Point.

W had 42 days off in first year as opposed to 26 to O in the first year.

It’s more than just the fact that he chose not to show his respect and be the one to lay the wreath on the unknown soldiers tomb. It is his blatant arrogance, it’s how he has no repect for the American values. It’s how no one really knows alot about this man and with whom he has had close ties with prior to becoming a Chicago Senator and now our President. It truely concerns me that alot about his past has not been revealed and made public.
Yes other presidents have missed this sacred and time honored DUTY. Let me stress that this is THEIR DUTY. Just because some other president missed it, why does he feel like he can too? If they jumped off a cliff would Obama do it too? I did not vote for the man and all of this time I have held my tongue, because I believe in our system. But between not wanting to wear a flag pin during certain ceremonies (because to some people the American flag is a symbol of oppression?) And now this. I can barely contain my anger and frustration. By the way if we are so oppressive why are there over 20 different American Veterens cemeteries and monuments around the globe? That’s right Mr. President look it up. Belgium, Netherlands, France, Normandy, The Philippines, North Africa, Italy and Mexico… Just to name a few. Most of us are well aware of Obama’s past and many of his former associates. Not positive factors, at all really. Most of us also were aware of his ties to Extreme Right Wing (murderers) i.e, Bill Ayers & his Wife for beginners. We were aware of his history before the election which is just one of the many reasons we never voted for him. There are also many here who did vote for him because they just wanted a change, and frankly, got sold up the river with all his BS and Campaign Rhetoric and now these folks all have buyers remorse. How funny that People did complain that Bush took more vacations in one year than any other President, and he was the one who started the two wars-yet he took more vacation than any other President. I think a couple times as I see that Cheney took his place for about 4 times & we are still searching. A president can serve the National veterans in any state in which he is allowed, and on Memorial day, he was present at a Veterans cementary for the Ceremony, as he was on Veterans day as well on Memorial Day. he knows alot is going on, every one knows. but how many of you came to this site or any other site and whined and complained that Bush took more vacations while our boys were coming home in boxes and missing body parts While he was in Texas building a new Ranch more than at the White House.
2. this was his not his vacation or short one. as he is entitle to 4 weeks per year. They are required by the General Medical physicians as well as the vice president, to reduce stress and rest. they work long hours to late night. sometimes missings sleep and food.
