Majority of Americans Are For Tougher Immigration Reform and Support Arizona New Anti-Illegal Immigration Law

It must come as a shock to liberals and the NY Times/CBS that most Americans support an overhaul of US immigration laws and that a majority of Americans also support Arizona’s new tough anti-illegal immigration law.

poll_cbs_az-law

NY Times/CBS Poll

How did the New York Times come to the above conclusions, why in their own polls of course. Much to their surprise, NY Times learns what most in the United States have know for a long time, majority of legal Americans are fed up with illegals in US. 60% of respondents stated that the AZ law is about right or could go farther.

Majority of Americans are for Immigration Reform and Support Arizona New Anti-Illegal Immigration Law

The public broadly agrees, across party lines, that the United States could be doing more along its border to keep illegal immigrants out. The view was shared by 78 percent of the respondents.

That unity, however, fractures on the question of what to do with illegal immigrants who are already here and the role of states in enforcing immigration law, normally a federal responsibility.

A majority of the people polled, 57 percent, said the federal government should determine the laws addressing illegal immigration. But 51 percent said the Arizona law was “about right” in its approach to the problem. Thirty-six percent said it went too far and 9 percent said it did not go far enough.

So let’s understand this, 78% of those polled agree that the United States should do more in protecting its borders and keeping illegals out. However, along party lines what to do with illegals once they have broken federal law is a different matter. Why? Do we reward a criminal is they have successfully robbed a bank, pulled off a drug deal or harmed another?

Newsbusters has more on the liberal medias attempt to skew a poll on immigration with loaded questions. It still failed. Democrats best understand just how volital an issue this is for people in America, those here legally that is.

Via Michelle Malkin, the May Day protests you won’t see in the MSM. Interesting, the MSM is so quick to point out the hate, racism and violence of the Tea Party movement, yet none exists. As posted earlier, MSM has no issue when swastikas are on posters with Republican politicians, it’s only when regime is used to depict the current Administration does the MSM get upset. To the MSM only hate exists at a Tea Party protest.  Can that be said for the pro-illegal May Day marches? Hardly.

More of the CBS/NY Times polling questions in detail:

Illegal Immigration
65% Very Serious Problem, 24% Somewhat Serious Problem, 10% Not a Problem

Illegal Immigrants
74% Weaken Economy, 17% Strengthen Economy

53% of Americans polled think that either illegals who are currently in the US should be required to leave their jobs and the US or can stay in their current jobs but only as a guest worker. The point being that a majority of Americans do not believe nor want illegals that are currently here to be provided US citizenship.

“Which comes closest to your view about illegal immigrants who are currently working in the U.S.?”
43% Allowed to stay in their jobs and to eventually apply for U.S. citizenship
32% Required to leave their jobs and leave the U.S.
21% Allowed to stay in their jobs only as guest workers

I saw Jay Leno at Correspondent Dinner his best line was; “That was my favorite story (this year) Republicans and a Lesbian bondage club. It’s ironic, Republicans don’t want lesbian getting married but they do like watching them “tie the knot”. So I thought that was interesting.”

You can say the same about Tea Party (they are haters not debaters or as others have dubbed them screamers not dreamers), they say they respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence but they do not mind passing laws, through weak Governors (no one voted for this crazy) who only care about getting reelected on the backs of undocumented workers, that will not pass Constitution muster, just like Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago, keep passing them Arizona and the rest of us will continue to challenged them in a court of law and you will fail again (and yes we will Boycott Arizona). Their phony patriotism is sickening; they are just racists going by another name. We all know you are just itching to put a sheet on their head? Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. It appears that the Republican Party is only good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots) because they continue to allow a small portions (but very loud portion) of their party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to rule their party. I will admit that this fringe is very good at playing “Follow the Leader” by listening to their dullard leaders, Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush, Savage, Sarah Bailin, Orly Taitz, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and the rest of the Blowhards and acting as ill programmed robots (they have already acted against doctors that perform abortions). The Birthers and the Tea party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and people like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits and the crazy Birthers who have not learned that the way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked internet lies, then, and only then, do you proceed to trial. The Birthers seem to be having a problem with their so called “facts”. Let’s face it no one will take the Birthers seriously until they win a case, but until then, you will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three. I heard that Orly Taitz now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC), she wants to re-establish a family values party, that’s like saying that the Catholic Church cares about the welling being of children in their care, too late for that.

SM: Once again we allow a liberal rant to show just how hatefully insane these moonbats really are.

The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots)

Um, who is the party of the Confederacy and Slavery? You folks should know, you have one of them in the Senate, Byrd from WV.

And the LEFT wonders why the Independents are running away from their insanity.

Way to keep on topic with your liberal talking points. How original.

      Montdoofus – Wow…really wow!

You need to go back to whatever school you claim you graduated from and give back your diploma or better yet; your GED from highschool.

Uh idiot; Ronald Reagan grew the economy and created more jobs in a non-war era that any President before him. That’s a fact unlike this doozy that you probably learned from some liberal professor or from some progressive history book in high school; written by progressives who take out the real truths of this country. Please prove that he passed the highest tax increase in history? You can’t. Clinton created a million more jobs because he ran to the center after he lost both houses in 1996.

Let’s see who’s more crazy…birthers or truthers are you and most stupid liberals are….

Truthers think our own government just went out and killed 3000 Americans just because; forgetting the fact that Bill Clinton DROPPED the ball to all the things that happened in this country leading up to 9/11 including the 1993 attempt on the WTC and the Cole bombing where he lobbed a few missles into a hospital full of innocents.

It’s funny morons like you think the Tea Party is racist and non-existent when in fact over 20% now claim they are Tea Party Patriots. Nobody is intimidating anyone in this party; unlike the thugs and your brethren who marched and VANDALIZED this past weekend. Geez…which protest seemed more peaceful while the other was more violent? HMMMMM… Idiot!

I’m running out of time to finish my diatribe against this uninformed; uneducated moronic liberal who probably took 3 hours researching their typical left liberal and boring and FACTUALLY untrue talking points.

Geez loser…why are Repubs/TPs leading in a majority of races coming up in Nov?

Why have the majority of independents left the Democratic party and REGRET voting Obama in?

I’m running out of time to slap you around some more; but tomorrow I will take apart your moonbat unfactual and middle school type posting piece by piece.

Keep thinking your taxes aren’t going to go through the roof along with higher gasoline prices; higher electric prices; and high prices on everything once the VAT comes to law.

It amazes me the stupidity of liberals.

BTW…where are all the critics now with stocks dropping over 250 points? Isn’t this the largest drop since the day it dropped that cost McCain the Presidency because dumb Americans took that as a sign that Obama could do better and he hasn’t!

      Get real and get bent.

Scott, although I lean right I’ve chosen to leave Rep party and go Independent. Not that I’ll vote differently, but I”m tired of labels and the original parties no longer stand for what they were meant to be regardless of the argument. Most of us agree. Left and right have gone somewhat radical and the Tea Partyier and the likes are truly the MODERATES and moral majority in the long run. Weird but true because we work and have alot to do so picketing and making time to be on the news isn’t a luxury we can afford as easily :)

This hole thing is a total Fing JOKE !!! Did you know that immigration law is worse in Mexico !!!
      Must Read Article:
Mexico Law is Tougher on Illegals Than Arizona
Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals………

Wow! Just wow! Trying to decipher through the garble of a post from Montana has given me a headache. The topic is about the Majority of Americans are for tougher immigration laws and this idiot is rambling on incoherently about Jay Leno & tea parties.

Must be a bad acid trip or something….

    9. Rusty Bridges on May 5th, 2010 7:21 am

Wow, a majority of amercans are for upholding law and order?

Whats with these other idiots? If you want illegals so badly petition your governor to accept them into your state. sponser them, marry them whatever, if you are all for what you say invite them into your homes.

It’s about law and order. It is a law that was made for a reason and a hell of a lot of people are here because the worked hard and make this a better country. Most of the Illegals are good people but they need to do it the right way. It is better for themselves as well. They should learn the law, learn what our country is about and learn the language for many reasons.

My wifes car was sideswiped last night by somebody that didn’t speak english well and apparently could not read the 45 mph sign.

While we were at the emergency room there was a girl there who didn’t speak english nor could her parents. Nobody could find out what was wrong with here until the found somebody that spoke spanish. Why wasn’t there a spanish speaking doctor there? Because they sneak over here illegally, don’t get the education they need because they are in hiding, don’t understand their environment and never succeed. That is what the govt. wants, a blind lower class and all they know is which party is giving them food and being told who to vote for.

That is a disgusting abuse of our fellow man and govt is to blame.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.

I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!

Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.

SM: You missed the most important fact of all, go figure … The United States of America is governed by the rule of law.

You think you should be provided some special treatment when individuals broke the law and are in the country illegally? No other country puts up with that BS. There is a process called legal immigration of how one can come to the US. In that process it states that you are to carry ID on you at all times.

I find it fascinating that those here legally would want illegals in the country.

No one wants discrimination … what we want is the rule of law to be followed. Why should this specific law be ignored with regards to illegals. Why not just look the other way for parental support, speeding, selling drugs, under age drinking. The hell with all the laws.

Do you think it is discriminatory to young people to ask them for ID when they buy alcohol? What is some one looks younger than they really are? What’s the difference?

      LAWS ARE LAWS.

When any American is pulled over in a sobriety check point, they have not necessarily been drinking but they are asked to show DL and ID.

      What makes illegals so special?

“All Men are created equal”! The founders had it right, when attempting to form a perfect union and they also knew that they were not there yet but knew we one day would get there. Lincoln moved us forward as did JFK and LBJ. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

It is my contention that this AZ law is not constitutional and will fail when challenged (unless they keep adding more amendments), pretty funny for a perfect law, now why hitch your wagon to this dead white elephant? I do not understand. “See You In Court”.
      ____________
SM: All men are created equal and then after they are created they must follow the rule of law or they find themselves in prison without the same “created equal rights”.

Yea, the pro-illegal immigration folks had such a strong argument that they dropped their petition for a referendum. Why, because they realized that 70% of the voters would vote for the new anti-immigration law.

Every civilzed country in the world as a means for dealling with illegals and people who are wrongfully in a country against the law, including Mexico.

I guess all those places are wrong to, it finally took a state to tell the lazy feds to do their job.
