RSSPelosi tells Democrats to Sacrifice Their Jobs, Vote for Obamacare and Against the Will of the People
Democrats are about to commit political suicide and ram health care through against the will of the people. Why do they refuse to listen to the people they work for?

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claims she will get the votes necessary to pass Obamacare, yet she also stated on the Sunday Talks Shows that Democrats should walk the plank and sacrifice their political careers for the all high and mighty Barack Hussein Obama and Obamacare. As it is presently, the 2010 midterm elections look to be utter carnage for Democrats, according to our accounts Dems look to lose 9 seats in the Senate. Passage of Obamacare will cause Donkeys to lose the House as well.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive role in this election year.
Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public, Pelosi said in an interview being broadcast Sunday the ABC News program “This Week.” “We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said. “We’re here to do the job for the American people.”
No San Fran Nan, you are not ere just in Washington, DC to self-perpetuate your service in Congress,” you are there to do the work and will of the American people. You would not have to fear losing your political careers if you were actually doing that.
The question that should have been asked is, Speaker Pelosi why would you feel that Democrats would be at risk of losing their jobs if they vote for Obamacare? Do you think you would be doing so against the will and the wishes of the American people? 61% of Americans want Congress scrap the current health care legislation and start over from scratch. If so, why are you not listening to the very people who you claim to represent?
The American people oppose this Obamacare bill by a 56% to 41%. Last time I checked Mr. President that is a greater mandate than your election.
As stated by Another Black Conservative, it is obvious that Pelosi does not have the necessary votes in order to pass this unpopular health care bill otherwise should would never have made such a statement forcing fellow Democrats to sacrifice their political careers.
The fiasco for Democrats in the HOUSE is just because they vote yes for this bill and in essence sign their walking papers from DC, there is no guarantee that it will pass the Senate in reconciliation. Senator Vent Conrad (D-ND) stated that the reconciliation process cannot work for Obamacare.
No wonder the Times was so pessimistic about reconciliation. Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), who runs the committee that would have to run a reconciliation push, says that the budgetary process can’t be used for ObamaCare. It would only address the actual budgetary issues, which leaves a lot off the table.
Thus, you would have House Dems putting their necks on the line and passing a bill that would never pass the Senate. All that would result would be their being voted out of office.
What a pickle Obama, Pelosi and Reid have put Democrats in, all so that Obama can get his health care bill passed. Democrats, under Obama’s leadership or lack thereof, have as the Astute Blogger states have painted them self in a corner. They are damned if they don’t and even more damned if they do. This terrible piece of legislation is hated by everyone, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike.
Why would any politician in their right mind reject the will of the American people and follow a President over the cliff who has an approval rating in the mid 40′s and who only 40% of nationwide voters say is doing a good or excellent job?

This shows you how Obama cares more about his “legacy” than he does his own party. He is willing for several Dems to take gas in November due to voter anger at passing the expensive health care bill at a time when the economy is gasping. This may well be the body blow that puts the country in breadlines. Obama does not care if there is a Republican backlash and new majority that undoes all the legislation. At least he can claim he got it passed. What a “leader.”

The arrogance of all this is clear. The President argues we need astraight up and down vote and let the majority rule. The problem is we have a “representative government” and the majority of the the real ruling party, We The People say we don’t want your lousy Health Takeover Bill. The internet says Pelosi is one of the wealthy persons in the Senate, worth about 12.5 million from investments…?.and Reid is worth about 4 to 6 million…no one can figure out how he got that much money, how could he save so much in his gov’t years….not credible…makes you wonder about all of them…
And why do they get FREE medical insurance for the rest of their lives with our tax dollars….they should pay just like the rest of us and they would also have immunity from any health care reform….we didn’t vote for anyone in office to pay their bills….just do the job you were hired to do…!!!

Medicaid, a plan that no dr even wants to belong to. The Dr’s I consulted for all opted out of it and dealt with any existing patients on a cash bases or did it for free because it was not worth the time or money for $18.

Government health care. Like gov postal delivery, I think we all know that is our last choice. Or Medicare, right up until your favorite doctor tells you they no longer accept medicare. And how about that special treatment the gov does to some businesses and not others, do we want something that holds our life and is a ‘bailout’. Drug control…that is a strange name for something not done. Border control…would not want my health care to match that. Bi-party meetings for the most important and expenssive matter in history, I can imagine medical research going that way also.
But really, gov health care might be more like the VA health care. Tax payers pay for that so I get to use it. Wait a minute. Not so, I want to live…not be part of training programs, a different doctor each day letting a different student infect me. I pay my own medical insurance since the 60′s and yet live.
With gov health care. Maybe we survivors can go to Mexico for our best care. Or to a local casino.

22 Dave, favorite doctors are often well thought of because they spend 15 extra seconds with the patient. Just long enough to see if the patient is alive.
But as for gov health care VA, I have been in the embarrassing position of being in a hospital bed in the corridor. Along with many other vets. Right in Dallas. Then one chief told the others, speeking of me, “this man never has to be in the corridor or wait in line — he is combat related”. Just made things far more embarrassing. Then I was just in a hurry to get out of gov health care…for that moment and permanently.
In the earlier years, my great wife, I have no idea of why such a beauty married me, she tried to get me to go to the VA for medical benifits…if nothing else, “look at all the money we could save. I just would not give a responce at all. Sure enough remembering once 2 years after discharge, I went to the gov health care and asked for help. “What is wrong with you?” (this is still the sixties) I said, “I am crazy”. Yep, I said that…should do the job. Nope. They did nothing for me.
I made it on my own, with no give up and taking advantage of good peoples help…advice that is — only. Now gov health care still not good to new vets or visiting families…they want to take what I/we made on our own. Without their sorry non-help.
I doctor my dogs and farm animals better than gov health care. Really. Really.

my mother in law’s husband retired from the Navy and she still has the insurance, but doctors in the town she lives in are startint to refuse it.
and get this the local HEB and Wells Fargo here have started refusing to cash income tax return checks. some of them have bounced !!!! the government is in total dysfunction mode under obama .
