Ron Paul Wins Presidential Straw Poll at CPAC with 31%

Ron Paul, Republican Congressman from Texas, has won the Presidential straw poll at CPAC this year with 31% of the vote while Mitt Romney came in a distant second with 22%. Thankfully, the straw poll is not a good indicator and basically meaningless as to who will eventually be the party choice. Mitt Romney had previously won it the last three years, yet McCain won the nomination.

Sarah Palin, who didn’t attend the conference, was a distant third in the straw poll, with 7 percent, followed by Tim Pawlenty, the Minnesota governor, and Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana.

The straw poll is not binding — and not necessarily a good forecaster, given that in 2008, John McCain went on to take the party’s nomination over Romney.

Ron Paul, Republican, Libertarian, or crazy uncle? Although I agree with some of the views of Paul but never enough to have him as a candidate … good grief. It really is hard to take Paul serious as a candidate with all that he has said.

It would appear there are many other RIGHT leaning blogs that have the same sentiment when it comes to Paul and his supporters.

Thankfully, we do not nominate a candidate using a straw poll that is so easily skewed. In the end this straw poll was about as scientific as an Internet poll.

   CNN is blatantly pushing fear propaganda by it’s “Cyber Attack Simulation” airing tonight. Check out http://www.infowars.com.

   They might be preparing us for Martial Law.

   I love Ron Paul! I voted for him in the last election as I am so sick of liberal republicans calling themselves conservative fiscally and socially. Why are you opposed to this S.M. Team. I think if you really read up on him and stop analyze the potentially lies from the liberal media, you may see that Ron paul is the man!

   Ron Paul lacks the narrative and the willingness to inflict other people’s religious beliefs on the country while talking about “limited government”.

   The Republicans could never win a national election without the Christian Right and Ron Paul will never get their votes.
