A not so funny thing happened on the way to investigating the security breach at Newark Liberty International Airport …
The TSA has admitted that their cameras at Newark Liberty International Airport were running but not recording during the security breach that took place last Sunday. Are you kidding me? The TSA officials had to use security tapes recorded by Continental Airlines’ cameras instead and confirmed that an “Asian male.” UNREAL! How could a security camera not be working? These people are responsible for the safety and security of air passengers and act in such total disregard.
Do these people actually care about keeping people safe? Broken cameras, AWOL employees, GOOD GRIEF!!!

On Sunday, a man walked the wrong way through security at Newark Liberty International Airport, prompting a security breach that shut down Terminal C for hours and forced the rescreening of thousands of passengers.
Spokeswoman Ann Davis said a passenger notified a TSA officer Sunday afternoon about a person who he believed had walked through the wrong way at a security exit. The passenger could not provide a description of the person, Davis said.
In an attempt to confirm the breach by videotape, from cameras that the TSA funded and the Port Authority installed and operated, TSA officials realized that the cameras were running but not recording.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-New Jersey, said at a news conference Wednesday that the camera recording system has been down since December 28, although a Homeland Security official could not confirm that. The Port Authority did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Feeling safe America? What’s worse, the major negligence or the management failure, or both?
He then walked past a podium where a TSA worker was supposed to be stationed…but it now appears he was AWOL. After, this massive breach of security, the man, who remains unidentified, simply walked out of the terminal.
How on earth could no one know that the survelliance video cameras were not working? How could it take an incident like this to have a meeting take place to make sure the cameras are checked?
After meeting with the Port Authority about the breach, the TSA has volunteered to check the cameras daily to ensure that they are recording, Davis said.
She also said the TSA has changed the location of the officers’ station at the exit lanes in Terminal C and added staffing there.
The airport source said the TSA “uses that [camera] system on a daily basis.”
“They have that system at their workstations. They have the ability to check it. They need to check it and tell the Port Authority if it’s not working,” they said.

Bush escalated the whole conflict with the extremists, drove susceptible minds from relatively normal lives into bitter poverty and the arms of the extremists.
If we had shrugged off that attack they would have lost interest. Now they have won. We have committed our resources, our riches our people to a bloody conflict and lost a lot of each.
Can you imagine how this country would soar above the financial crisis if our money people and politics wouldnt be elsewhere?

I mean you’d think that they would have fixed the camera. Just goes to show you that human error and laziness occurs in every aspect of life, even when your safety and wellbeing is on the line.
I would like to pack my video camera into my luggage with a TSA approved lock on it, so I won’t have to carry it around the airport. My video camera is in a hard camera case. Will my camera be safe? Safe from being stolen? Safe from damage?
I don’t think its Obama’s fault. Its all fault of the system which was structured by the Bush government. But hopefully these things will not happen again.
Equally as disturbing as the initial breach of security was the uncoordinated manner in which it was handled.
This flaw in the security system needs to be addressed immediately and thoroughly at Newark Liberty.
