Why are we not surprised? ACORN could benefit from Obamacare bill, say it isn’t so Joe, or should we say Barack!

Why would any individual be surprised by any of the Harry Reid give aways that were required to get the necessary 60 votes to move their terrible piece of so-called health care reform legislation known as Obamacare through the Senate. Because every organization like ACORN that has no issue with pimps, prostitutes and under-age child prostitute human sex trafficking should be allowed to get tax payer dollars.
Now we learn that scandal plagued ACORN now qualifies for funding under the Obamacare bill. UNREAL! According to The Weekly Standard, Senator Roland Burris is claiming credit for a provision in Harry Reid’s “manager’s amendment,” that could funnel money to ACORN through the health care bill.
The provision he cites, found on pages 240 through 248 of the manager’s amendment, requires that six different agencies each establish an “Office of Minority Health.” The agencies are the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.”
According to page 241 of the amendment:
In carrying out this subsection, the Secretary, acting through the Deputy Assistant Secretary, shall award grants, contracts, enter into memoranda of understanding, cooperative, interagency, intra-agency and other agreements with public and nonprofit private entities, agencies, as well as Departmental and Cabinet agencies and organizations, and with organizations that are indigenous human resource providers in communities of color to assure improved health status of racial and ethnic minorities, and shall develop measures to evaluate the effectiveness of activities aimed at reducing health disparities and supporting the local community. Such measures shall evaluate community outreach activities, language services, workforce cultural competence, and other areas as determined by the Secretary.’’
According to a Senate legislative aide, the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now could qualify for grants under this provision. ACORN would also qualify for funding on page 150 of the underlying Reid bill, which says that “community and consumer-focused nonprofit groups” may receive grants to “conduct public education activities to raise awareness of the availability of qualified health plans.”
Michelle Malkin points out the further fact that this is not just about ACORN, “It’s the race hustler shakedown”, as well. Remember when people said during the 2008 campaign that an Obama victory would represent Hope, Change and furthering race relations?

This is a return to the social policies of LBJ and the liberal Democrats of the 60′s and 70′s. The idea is that government can fix social ills through spending. The result ends up a simple, indiscriminate throwing of taxpayer money at problems by funding organizations like ACORN. We had them in the 60′s and 70′s, too. Job programs where everyone got a weekly handout for sitting through typing classes that taught very little typing. Many of these organizations were simple frauds that took taxpayer money and headed to the hills. I am insulted that our government would feel a need for an “Office of Minority Health.” The expression of a need for this kind of thing is an implicit charge of racism against the government we already have. Back in the 70′s I worked for a summer program for youths in Houston. When the program was over, you should have seen the locusts steal all the playground equipment like it was Christmas at the NAACP. That is all this is. Dressed up thievery.

I’m new to this blog so I don’t know how to make sure that this info becomes common knowledge – HELP! I doubt that even all of the senators who will vote for this disasterous bill are aware of everything that’s hidden in it – for most of them, its just about blackmailing Reid, etc., to get as much as they can or about ‘my side can beat your side’. This is pathetic. Will someone please ask Mrs.O if she is still proud of her country.

Third, I will agree that most of the Senate and House don’t have any more of a clue what’s in the bill than the average American, except when it comes to their pay-offs. And, the saddest thing of all is they simply don’t care. Yes, it’s business as usual. They are the elite, we are the peons. They in all their wisdom know what’s good for the masses but don’t you dare suggest it’s good enough for them.
