Irony: Balloon Boy Parents Willing to Turn Themselves in to Avoid Public Perp Walk and Media Attention

Make Balloon boys parents do a perp walk and give them a true dose of REALITY TV!!!

The gig is up and the parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, of “Balloon Boy” are about to face the music. In a news conference over the weekend Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden announced that the entire balloon incident was a hoax.

To further add irony and insult to injury, David Lane, the lawyer representing Richard and Mayumi Heene said that his clients are willing to turn themselves in to face any charges. That’s mighty big of them seeing that they really won’t have a choice in the matter once charges are filed. Get this!!! The attorney says he wants avoid “the public spectacle and humiliation” of police arresting them in the presence of their children.

Denver attorney David Lane says he’s representing Richard and Mayumi Heene. He says he wants to avoid “the public spectacle and humiliation” of police arresting them in the presence of their children.

Lane says he’s advised the family not to make any statements on the matter.

That is priceless!!! AVOID THE PUBLIC SPECTACLE!!! Isn’t that what this family wanted all along? Shouldn’t we give the balloon boy parents exactly what they were looking for all along? Cuff ‘em in public with cameras flashing and the focus of all the media. This is why they pulled this ridiculous stunt in the first place. What’s more “reality TV” than a public arrest?

As for not arresting them in the presence of their children. Richard and Mayumi Heene certainly had no problem implicating their children in this hoax. The sheriff stated in his news conference that the three boys were aware of the hoax. Thus if the parents had no problem in aiding and abetting to the delinquency of minors, why should they care about being arrested in front of them? Since the children will not be charged with any crimes due to their age, maybe seeing their parents arrested for their crimes will be a learning tool for the future.

UPDATE I: Media Outlet May Be In On Balloon Hoax

If this is the case then reality TV needs to be prosecuted. This nonsense has to come to an end. Police resources wasted. Other pressing things could have been investigated. What if some one was injured, harmed or killed in the process of this balloon hoax? Enough is enough.

Investigators are examining the possibility of other conspirators, “including the possibility that even some of the media outlets may have had some knowledge about this,” Alderden said.

Falcon can not fly. At least Falcon was honest with Wolfe Blitzer on CNN. The next day Falcon Heene was throwing up on the Today Show while his parents lied. :-)

The “public spectacle of parents being led away in handcuffs might be just what these kids need. Look at Daddy! See what happens when you lie!

I agree that it can’t hurt the kids to see the price dad and mom pay for lying. Remember, this wasn’t just any ole hoax on the media. This was a hoax that pulled emergency personal off their regular duties and away from others that might have really needed them and required the FAA to clear airspace for over 2 hours.

In addition, it puts the next child in danger when something bad happens and authorities have to stop and wonder if its simply a hoax.

Kids should learn that you don’t attempt to fool the press, the police or other authorities and when you consume these services unnecessarily, you pay both in time and discipline.

Katablog, that was a good comment.
I saw LKL and the kids looked and behaved strangely. To, me, they looked and did not behave like normal kids. The middle child made strange faces and flapped his arms around like kids I’ve seen with Attention Deficit Disorder.
I realize they are very young and perhaps don’t know how to behave in front of the cameras, but the kids were ” off “. Do these kids go to a regular school or are they home schooled? Or is it because they is so much chaos in the house and they react to that disorder.

#6 you hit the nail on the head !!! The actions of the kids are that of a home brewed version, Another reason to keep your kids in public school !!! I wonder what this stunt cost the FAA alone ???

Arresting the parents in front of their children will teach them a valuable life lesson and allow them to experience the consequences of their parents outrageous behavior… and yes, at that young age, (co-conspirators… teach them NOW, that it was VERY wrong… it’s far better to teach them now, than to have it continue having those boys think this is “normal” behavior… and God forbid, what else has gone on in that household… There’s far more to this story here… by manipulating the media, lying to officials, concocting such a farce/hoax is absolutely screaming this guy is unstable, not to mention his wife going along with it… he put the lives of other folks who may have needed these services on hold ~ what a selfish, self centered, disturbed being… Get those boys some help~! look what they are being taught!!!! yikes! Can you hear the dialogue…where going to make lots of money… be famous… wow… to use your kids as pawns in the pony show…

I’d love to know the entire fee it cost for pulling this off…must be over a million ~ how much $ did he make on the wife swap show? He & his wife should pay back every single dollar for his charade ~ and then some… I heard a Black Hawk was up in skydom too… not to mention what 5,6,& 7…shared ~ right on! Honestly~!

I smelled a rat when I first witnessed it… it didn’t seem “right”… and just seeing the kids squirm and how they kept looking at Daddy during the interview… he had the wrath of God burning on them…with his body language…~ shame on Daddy teaching his boys to connive, manipulate, lie, sceme, I wonder if he’d of given them all a severe beating if they told the officials/interviewers differently… (thus the throw up from the stress looming over Falcon…) that spoke volumes of what’s going on in that home… throwing up like that… imagine him 10 years from now watching a re-run knowing that he threw up on National/International television amongst millions of viewers…

talk about how humiliated he felt… Good job, Daddy-0… get some professional help for your kids please! and some for you too… where are the officials on emotional/verbal abusing these kids… maybe there would be another offense here… it wouldn’t surprise me at all, if he punished his kids in a physical way either…
