Obama White House Adviser David Axelrod Says Fox News Channel is “not really a news station”

This White House is getting to sound like a tired broken record …

Why does this White House continue to whine about Fox News. How small they sound and how dangerous a situation that a White House complain about dissent. How dare anyone question them or their policies. The rest of the MSM has forgot that it is their job, no matter what party the President belongs to. However, this White House continues to be “lost in smallness.”

Senior Obama White House advisor David Axelrod said on This Week with George Stephanopoulos that the FOX News channel isnot really a news station”. It is pretty pathetic when a White House feels the need to go on other networks to complain about another rather than confronting them directly.

”I’m not concerned,” Axelrod said on ABC’s “This Week” when George Stephanopoulos asked about the back-and-forth between the White House and Fox News.

“Mr. [Rupert] Murdoch has a talent for making money, and I understand that their programming is geared toward making money. The only argument [White House communications director] Anita [Dunn] was making is that they’re not really a news station if you watch even — it’s not just their commentators, but a lot of their news programming.

Axelrod states that he is not concerned, yet this Obama White House continues to fixate on Fox News and restricting freedom of the press. Obviously, it is a concern to Obama. There is no reason why this would not go away if it were not a concern to the Administration. The White House must feel that Fox News is providing an unwanted platform for individuals who dare disagree with Obama. How frightening is it that any government thinks they can squelch free speech? Is it any wonder why Obama’s poll numbers are at 45%. Obama is failing on all fronts.

It was not just Axelrod, but White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel as well. Emanuel said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Fox “is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective.”

Maybe the Obama White House is not a real Presidency?

The questions have swirled around as to whether President Obama is tough enough. Obama and his minions have continually blamed others instead of having the buck stop with him. This President stated that the $787 billion stimulus package would keep unemployment under 8%. As every one knows US unemployment is at 9.8% and rising. Every Democrat in the primaries questioned Obama’s experience and whether he was up to the job. Maybe they were correct.

So what must a news organization be according to Dunn, Axelrod and  Emanuel be in order to be considered a “real” news station? Be in the tank for Obama like CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the liberal media?

Q and O makes what may be the most telling point of the Obama Administrations objections and issues with Fox News. Dunn had stated that when Obama goes on Fox News he believes he is debating the opposition. Does that mean that the rest of the MSM is willingly in the tank for Obama? So much for the media being the watch dog of “We the People”.

The White House apparently feels it must marginalize Fox for a reason. And the only reason I can come up with is the White House feels it is hurting it’s agenda. To me the most telling remark about Fox came when Dunn said that when President Obama goes on Fox he believes he’s debating the opposition.

I thought that’s what all real journalists considered themselves – the opposition. Now, apparently, journalistic worth is measured by the White House as how compliant you are and how willing you are to carry water for them.

      Axelrod is absolutely correct.
Fox News Channel is nothing but a propaganda outlet. It doesn’t seperate its
news and opinion, like real news organizations: it combines them.
like the whole Fox, over-the-top push for the Teabag demonstrations.
Another: instead of spreading around their network interview availabilities like Obama has done, Bush and Cheney gave almost exclusive access to Fox’s softball “reporters.”
      ___________
SM: Keep drinking the Obama Kool-Aid dude.

GWB went on every news outlet knowing they were against him. It was CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that admitted that over 90% of the news media was pro-Democrat. There is some fair and balanced reporting.

You liberals kill me. You have always been afraid of a debate because the facts are never on your side. Obama would not be President today unless the MSM coddled him during the primaries and general election.

Hell, it was Hillary Clinton that said that Fox News was the most fair and objective in their reporting with her.

Fox News has news and opinion, just like CNN and other cable outlets. Funny, Obama minions have no problem going on Meet the Press and This Week. Think that isn’t opinion?

Quit whining like you campaigner and chief.

Maybe the real question that needs to be asked this White House is if Barack Obama is a real President? Maybe he would like to show a spine and send troops to Afghanistan like he promised during the campaign. Hmm?

The ‘Point of View’ held by Fox News is that the TRUTH is
worth telling. Fox spends the time to dredge up FACTs instead
of simply parroting Administration talking points and propaganda.
And that factual approach to reporting current events is what
News really is! The pablum swirled around in the Lapdog
fish-wrappers and low-rated electronic media is largely
a Point of View pooled consensus.

Obama is not really a President more like a sleeper dictator with a communist agenda. The truth will put Obama out of office.

Fox News is the only channel I watch because the truth comes out, and this is what scares the White house.

too bad that the white house holds no politicians but petty criminals to professed communists. maybe this is not a real presidency. hell, there’s no maybe to it, the whole country can see through what’s going on with these white house gangs.

That statement really holds a lot of weight
from an Administration that is getting prepared
to sign over all United States sovereignty
to the UN at the Copenhagen conference coming
      up in December.

People might as well have elected Joran Vandersloot for office.

Lie all you want, it still never makes it the truth.

Barack needs a reality check. Lets see, our men and women dying daily in the WAR. All he can think about is healthcare because that will be his legacy. Doesn’t get his way he pouts. Leave it the hell alone. He better be worring about Iran, North Korea and Afghanistan instead of playing basketball in the White House or going on dates with his wife OR trying to get the olympics in his state. What a waste of a person. Trying to kiss ass to everyone by apologizing to the world for us Americans!!! Don’t even apologize for me and by the way, leave MY healthcare alone. What an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS WHOLE OBAMA THING IS KILLING ME, ROLLING IN THE FLOOR LAUGHING AT THE PARANOIA AND INCOMPETENCE OF THIS KENYAN PLANT AND HIS “MIGHTY” MINIONS. THEY ALL NEED TO BE DRUG TESTED BECAUSE THEIR PARANOID BEHAVIOR IS “TELLING”. THANK HEAVEN FOR FOX NEWS!

    10. super dave on October 19th, 2009 10:35 am

obama was a weakling at birth, during his adolescense, his teen years, and now in adulthood,it preceeds him like a plague. other
countries feed on his weakness and play him like
      a puppet.
even the communist countries need a good laugh sometimes, even if it is at the expense of obama.

@superdave – firstly, i am not an obamba supporter. secondly, your(collective) ignorance is the ONLY problem.

I see this as a very bad precedence for all news outlets. Regardless of the political/social leanings of any particular news outlet (they all lean one way or another), why aren’t the rest of the news media standing together against this? What goes around comes around and who’s to say the tables won’t turn the other way during the next administration. Both parties learn quickly and enhance the things which has worked well for their opposition.

OK, so Fox has a conservative perspective. Whoopty-doo! I often refer to CNN as the Communist News Network because of “their perspective” – and quite frankly, I don’t consider them newsworthy either, so I understand how the white house feels. We choose what we watch – thank God for the “channel flipper”!

Obama could release his complete birth records, university papers, his application records, drug records, and reasons for a few of his travels — much more easily. More easily than his and czars assualt on Fox news, and me who watches same. Obama could clean the USA subverssives out of his acquintances, staff and his tutorship — much more easily. Obama and all could pay attention to what our troops need, as in a decission — much more easily. ANd either Obama could become an ordinary US American, or — take his choice…stop talking like he is campaigning — much more easily. So, he and ‘rod’ have their own things to do…just saying — before they breach at more of our constitution. 1st amendment.

I am (only) mostly a republican, maybe independant. Disgusted with the silence and lack of acting out in fair warfare of republicans, the lack of electable (win-able) independents, and the sickness which has become liberals/democrats. And I could not dislike Obama and his people less — for…dismatling of America.

All the news stations have there own agenda and can not be believed. Those of us who take the time to educate ourselves do not go to the TV for our information. They work for the ratings and are all owned and told what to say.

    18. katablog.com on October 19th, 2009 11:24 pm

it’s really bad when people will go so far to defend their “man” that they will totally overlook the Constitution and the freedoms granted to all Americans. It’s also a real giggle when the White House sites CNN as an example of a “news” outlet. Hmmm, seems CNN was the one reporting 50,000 people marched on DC on 09/12/2009 when in truth there was between 800,000 and 1.5 million people. And, many of those people were chanting “CNN tell the truth”.

Blind followers refuse to see the pattern of Obama’s associations: William Ayers, the criminal ACORN Agency, criminal Tony Rezko, Reverend Wright, Van Jones, pedophile lover Kevin Jennings and now idiot Dunn. What other president has ever had such radical associations and just had them overlooked by his blind followers?

#11: who the hell are you? another back jumper ? hit a nerve with you too ? did i call your name ?
if i didn’t, don’t back jump. if you took offense, you must have some connection whoever you are !
you started the name calling just like a democrat but i will accept your apology. maybe ?

I notice how your commenters say that Fox is the only one they watch. That’s because they don’t want the truth to interfere with what they want to believe. The White House only brings up Fox when it asked about it. It is the right wing that is obsessed with this story. This administration has called out the propagandists. It would have been easier just to let it slide, but the truth has won out. Hooray!
