Daily Commentary – Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 – Prisoners Get Stimulus Money … Cash for Cons

  • Close to half a million in stimulus funds was accidentally distributed to inmates in a prison in Massachusetts. It’s your government doing what it does best, folks.

Just another example of your precision government in action wasting your hard earned tax dollars.

Every one has heard of the Cash for Clunkers program; however, have you also hears of the government’s “Cash for Cons” program as well? That is correct! The government, the same one that wants to take charge of health care and 1/6th of the US economy, sent 4000 convicts checks from the Stimulus bill.
One day after the Herald reported some surprised Bay State inmates – including murderers and rapists – were cashing in $250 stimulus checks, federal officials revealed the same behind-bars bonus was mailed to nearly 4,000 cons nationwide.

A federal watchdog is now probing how the cons were cut the checks. The same cash also may have been sent to fugitive felons, people kicked out of the country and even individuals now deceased.
Prisoners Mistakenly Received Stimulus Checks. I thought that VP Biden was going to oversee where this money went? BTW, where the hell is Biden, has anyone seen him since the Beer Summit?
On Tuesday the Social Security Administration revealed that the federal government mistakenly sent out stimulus checks to 1,700 inmates. That error cost $425,000.
In a written statement, Social Security spokesman Dan Moraski said that the money went out because official records “did not accurately reflect that they were in prison.”

#3 Dolf … Don’t ya get it buddy?

Because the VA is government run health care it is a disaster, not because what President is in Office.

I personally believe that any one who has ever fought and defended this country should be given a Cadillac health care policy like the one’s the politicians enjoy. Not having to deal with the VA.

However, politicians get special healthcare coverage and is the reason why when they are asked the question as to whether they would be put on the rolls of Obamacare vs. what they presently have, they are speechless.

Every one knows the horror stories of the VA. We pulled our uncle years ago out of the VA when he was diagnoses with cancer and they said nothing more could be done.

Funny, he went on to live many more years away from government health care.

The problem is the government run option, not who may be in control of government at the time.

      End of story.

DOLF: good try but we are talking about sending convicted criminals stimulus checks. and red is right. va is government run and a total mess.
none of these criminals are in the va as of right now. but very good try.
there is nothing anyone can say to convince me that the democrats are in this for every citizen. don’t even try. it’s a power and control thing for them. they care more about illegal aliens and the non taxpayers than the people that make this country function.

DUH! More incompetance at our expense.

i have read a few pages of the supposed reform bill and have found several little chinks in it’s armor. every citizen should readit and every government official shoud be required to read it.

#2 Dolf … it is government that is the problem; however … Obama is a spending nightmare and IMO he is not up to the job.

Try and use some common sense when being literal.

Government is the problem; however, piss poor leadership from the top makes it even worse.

Dave, this was the most important line from reds post:

The problem is the government run option, not who may be in control of government at the time.
      ___________
SM: Dolf do not speak for me and interpret what I say. You can create your own web site and do that if you like.

Government by its nature is inefficient. The large it gets the worse it gets. That’s where Obama steps in. Making govt control everything is a recipe for disaster because these people have no consequences.

If the mis-budget, they tax the people and get more. No is never an option. $ for clunkers was a perfect example. The clusterf#@k of a program that needed more $’s, was mismanaged and in the end made more $’s for foreign car companies than US.

Leadership is important. Reagan showed us that. Obama is a wet behind the ears, novice who is in over his head. That coupled with the fact that he is a socialist is a disaster for America.

You cannot spend your way out of every problem. Maybe America will learn that “hope & change” is a cute slogan, but BS when it comes to substance for getting the job done. This is what happens when the MSM carries water for a candidate and refuses to vet them and the Republicans providing a lame alternative choice.

We have seen Obama before … his name was Jimmy Carter.

some dumbass civil servant has been sleeping.

      well…they might call that working

    12. SUPER DAVE on August 27th, 2009 10:43 am

obama looks good and talks a lot of B S and his people love that. unfortunately, that is all he is
capable of. the democrats needed him for the black vote. if not for this and the paid media, he would not have made the first primary. a mere puppet for pelosi and reid, his handlers.
only the color of his skin got him in the white house, not his political skills of which he has none.rahm emanuel’s brother will be making medical decisions for this country and he is not an MD.

    13. SUPER DAVE on August 27th, 2009 2:11 pm

as of right now, stimulus money is quiety, under the radar, being spent on democratic pet projects.
in janet nappy’s home state of arizona, a border check station gets $199 million while a border control crossing in Laredo,TX. servicing thousands of cars and trucks gets passed over. remember Texas is hated by the crats or it could be classified as jealousy.
