Melissa Scott Jenkins and Daniel Edward Ehrlic, Mother & Boyfriend, Arrested in the Death of Robert Manwill
The mother of Robert Manwill and her boyfriend have been charged in the murder of the 8 year old Boise boy. 30 year old Melissa Jenkins and her boyfriend, Daniel Ehrlick, were arrested by Boise police and indicted for the death of Robert Manwill. Jenkins was also charged as as an accessory for failing to report her son’s death to law enforcement.
“The arrests are a major step in the investigation,” said Jim Kerns, Boise Police deputy chief. “But the investigation of Robert Manwill’s death is still very much ongoing.”
Police did not elaborate as to why they arrested the two.
8 year old Robert Manwill had been supposedly missing since July 24, 2009 and his body was found on August 3 in a canal about 14 miles from his home. The date of Robert’s death may now be in question. At the time of the gruesome discovery, police had stated that what happened to the 8 year old boy was no accident.
Daniel Ehrlick and Melissa Jenkins will be arraigned Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Deborah Bail. They are being held on a $2 million bond.

I’m happy those people have been arrested
it makes me sick to think what Robert must have endured by that Monster Daniel Ehrlick and the Mother who was supposed to be protecting him and
keep him save. She let that happen to her own Son!
Unbelievable.
Robert was only 8 yrs. old, he was defenseless against those two adults.
Justice better be served for that precious little boy who had his whole life ahead of him.
Mothers like that don’t deserve to ever have any Children! It sure takes a BIG Man to beat a little Child to Death. Hopefully Both of them get the same Treatment they gave Robert or worse when they go to Prison.
Amen Hilde…
Why was this child in that abusive home? Those who made the decision to put that child in harm’s way after they knew it wasn’t safe should be charged for negligence. We need to find out who in child protective services signed off on this outrageous custody order. That person needs to be held accountable and should not be making decisions for other children vulnerable to similar circumstances. And the judge who ruled on this should resign now or be impeached. I am sick!
Hilde…oh, worry not dear! A child molester/killer is viewed as the lowest form of life in the prison system. Many in prison do have families and are not in there for violent crimes. Even those who ARE in for violent crime more often than not wouldn’t hurt a child…so they prey on such vermen inside the walls of the prison. Definately a pecking order in there, and no doubt these 2 will be well pecked ;>)
Glad they will be off the streets and if they get life wop …don’t send them home to die with family should they get a terminal illness, like Scotlands lockerbee killer.Life in prison should mean you die there too.
fairwitness, I totally agree with you. The flags in this case where beat red, yet he was still allowed to continue having unsupervised visits with his mother and her felon boyfriend. The fact that she was on probation for abusing her other child stumps me as to how he was allowed to go there.
