And now for something completely different … Suddenly demonizing the President is off limits when it had been a cottage industry for the past eight years under GWB.
When it is a questionable depiction of a Republican, it’s called art. When it is is feces smeared on a picture of Christ or a crucifix in urine, it is called art. However, when dare it be a picture of President Barack Obama looking like the Joker, it is considered mean. No double and triple standard here. Then there is the obligatory, it must be racist because it is against Obama.
With the amount of bizarre and over the top “art” that is out there, why would anyone thing that Obama is above it? Maybe the President will have a press conference on this matter and say that someone acted “stupidly”?

The Obama-Joker poster shows President Obama with white face paint, dark eye shadow and smudged red lipstick and also has the word “socialism” printed in bold, dark letters under the image of his face.

I wonder id they would feel the same if the poster depicted, oh, George W. Bush or Sarah Palin? Wrong to demonize the President? Where were these people for the last 8 years? Hell, I must have missed the part where Earl Ofari Hutchinson spoke up on the ongoing demonization of Sarah Palin and her family. However, I tend to agree with Sundries Shack, The Riddler might have been a better comparison.
Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson is calling the depiction, politically mean spirited and dangerous.
“Depicting the president as demonic and a socialist goes beyond political spoofery,” says Hutchinson, “it is mean-spirited and dangerous.”
No body seems to know who is responsible for the Obama Joker posters.
This all plays into the notion that the LEFT must protect Obama at all times and everything dome against him is off limits or racism. It is ok to go personally after Sarah Palin, but oh no, no artist renditions of The One. The people are growing weary.

To the liberal, Obama represents everything good and honest so to make fun of him in this manner is blasphemy. The liberal thinks Bush, Palin, and any other conservative represent everything bad and evil in the world so making fun of them is the right and moral thing to do. Liberals believe freedom of speech only applies to them. Get out the torches and pitchforks and let them know what you think about their double standards.
I see no problem whatsoever with that poster. Besides, it’s ALOT less demeaning than what they did to GW making him appear as a chimp all the time. (yeah…let’s see them do THAT to the great Zero and see the backlash it would produce…but would have to be next to a pic of GW that some lib did the same way :>)

Some people are mystified by the DoughBummer as Joker tie-in, but I think it makes perfect sense. This is our evil AzzClown-in-Chief, f’ing up our country as fast as he can, before the sheeple wake up from their snoozes.
This poster is gathering momentum around the country, and by far most of the commentary I’ve seen posted have been positive, i.e. anti -0-bama.
Looks like middle class America is waking up to this fraud, and hopefully it’s not too late.
Question is: where can i find some of these posters to put around where I live?

Edit: This is the third site link posted for these t-shirts and mugs, etc with the Obama Joker image. I suggest that if you really want it to create one yourself at Cafepress or Zazzle or search one of those sites. Political satire has existed in the United States since they were colonies.
It will not stop and shouldn’t regardless of who the leader may be. It’s part and parcel of what our heroes sacrifice life and limb for. We realize that, as should the liberals.
This was done by the Republican Party (which of course SM’s failed to mention) – you would think they would be “above it”.
These immature antics should be relegated to the internet and private citizens, not carried by official party organs. The fact the Republican Party sees fit to engage in such anklebiting, while having no solutions for the country’s problems (and apparently unprepared for the daunting uphill battle they face in 2010) shows they are content with being the regional party, the Birthers, the ones screaming from the security of the backbench about how to win yet screwed the pooch when they were in the game.
This to me is parody, not at all like the many documented racist pictures and off color jokes that have been spread through official Republican organs.
With this coming from the Republican Party, it’s quite telling of how bereft of ideas and imagination there is in todays GOP.
