BOTOX TAX … Plastic Surgery Tax Eyed As Revenue Raiser … or is it BOTAX?
Is there anything that these people will not tax? Hell, they will tax your dreams if they could. Oh wait, they already do.
An excise tax on cosmetic surgery, are you joking? What would Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi say? What would have the recently departed Michael Jackson have said? The Senate Finance Committee is looking into a 10% excise tax on cosmetic surgery deemed not medically necessary. Wait until these politicians define “medically necessary.”
Face-lifts, tummy tucks and hair transplants could be hit with a new tax to help finance the trillion-dollar healthcare overhaul plan, according to sources familiar with the Senate talks.
The Senate Finance Committee has discussed imposing a 10 percent excise tax on cosmetic surgery deemed unnecessary for medical purposes. The idea was broached in a meeting with OMB Director Orszag in mid-July, after which Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus told reporters he had heard some “interesting,” “creative,” and “kind of fun” ideas.
From Weasel Zippers, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Congress will look to exempt themselves from this tax. What say you Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry?

Not only will the pols exempt themselves from this tax, they will find a way to have it declared ‘necessary’ for them to effectively legislate and ,therefore, covered by their superior insurance paid for by US!!!
Every time I hear the name Nancy Pelosi, I am reminded it’s time to “drain the swamp” of the subspecies that comprises our current Congress!
