RSSIt’s Official, Nashville Police Rule Death of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi was a Murder – Suicide
In the end, police rule that the death of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi was a murder/suicide as we originally suspected.
It has been made official by Nashville, Tennessee police … the deaths this past weekend of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi has been ruled a murder/suicide. Police have determined that Kazemi shot McNair as he slept on the coach and then turned the gun on herself. The 9 mm pistol found beneath Kazemi has been determined to the weapon that killed them both.
At a news conference today Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas stated that according to interviewed with friends and co-workers Sahel Kazemi’s life was spinning out of control. She also suspected that McNair might be involved with another woman. Jealousy drove Kazemi over the edge to do the unthinkable and murder McNair in the early morning hours of Saturday. The question that Kazemi should have asked herself was, if McNair was going to cheat on his wife, why would she not think he would cheat on her?
Several days before the slaying, Kazemi had seen someone she thought might be McNair’s new girlfriend leaving the apartment, and followed her, the chief said.
With her life and financial situation in turmoil, Kazemi was described as despondent.
Police have determined that Sahel Kazemi murdered former Titans quarterback Steve McNair last weekend with four shots while he was asleep on the couch, then sat down next to him and shot herself in the temple.
Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas said at a press conference this afternoon that their interviews with Kazemi’s friends and coworkers showed that in the last five to seven days of her life, the 20-year-old felt her life was unraveling.
She had recently saw signs that McNair may be involved with another woman, and she might have been worried about making rent payments and payments on two cars, including a Cadillac Escalade registered in both her and McNair’s name.
According to Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas, Kazemi had told associates that “she was going to end it all.” Police also believe Kazemi purchased the gun in the parking lot of Dave & Buster’s where she was employed.
The Tennessee Titans have opened LP Field to the public for a two day memorial to slain Steve McNair.

Geez….What a wacko. The guy was married, she had to have known that yet she gets jealous over the possibility that he may have ANOTHER girlfriend.

How could Steve’s wife not know he had a girlfriend or girlfriends when he apparently was never home with her and the children?
Murder – Suicide? is this all the work the police wants to put torwards this case. well someone explain this how is a small 20 year old girl going to shoot herself in her right temple with her left hand that would take an amazing shot in strength. I do believe there was a thrid party. That stage the whole thing

info out says she was trying to position herself to be in his lap (yup, a whacko)…so makes sense she may have had to do some weird positioning to try and pull that off.
No, wouldn’t have taken any special strength to use left hand if she did. I shoot alot and most weapons these days have hair triggers….not hard to pull back so you gotta be careful handling after loading.
