Body Found in GA Woods … Believed to be Fugitive Professor George Zinkhan Wanted for Murder
A Body has been found near the location of fugitive George Zinkhan’s vehicle.
A manhunt has been on for missing UGA professor George Zinkhan since he was accused of the triple murder of 47 year old Marie E. Bruce (Zinkhan’s wife), 63 year old Ben Teague and 40 year old Thomas Cole Tanner. Zinkhan had been considered a fugitive and prime suspect in the murders.
Georgia police may have finally found their man. A body has been found Saturday by police using cadaver dogs in the Georgia woods believed to be that of the missing fugitive, George Zinkhan. The body was found about 1 mile from the location of where police found Zinkhan’s abandoned SUV. Police stated that the body was concealed. The body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation laboratory near Atlanta for positive identification.
A body was found Saturday in the manhunt for a Georgia professor accused of killing three people, and a local media report suggests police think the body belongs to the fugitive suspect.
Police found the body while using cadaver dogs to search the woods where George Zinkhan’s Jeep was found last week. The body was found 1.3 miles from the site where the vehicle was abandoned.

Police said the body was taken to a state crime lab for identification. The body was found 1.3 miles from where George Zinkhan’s Jeep was located about a week after the April 25 shootings, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department said in a news release.
“We haven’t confirmed anything yet. We’ve got to do an autopsy first,” said police Capt. Clarence Holeman.
As reported by the AJC, George Martin Zinkhan III dug his own grave and covered himself with debris before firing a single bullet into his head.

A University of Georgia professor who killed his wife and two others before fleeing was targeting her male friend, authorities said Tuesday.
George Zinkhan, 57, and wife Marie Bruce had been having marital problems at the time of the April 25 shooting spree.
