A Gift Fit for a Queen … Obama Gives Queen Elizabeth an iPod with his Speeches … Heaven Help Us

What planet does Barack Obama live on?

So what does one give a royalty? What is a gift that is fit for a Queen? In Obama’s world it is an iPod that includes his speeches. Good Grief.  There are probably many that are appropriate, I am going to go out on a limb and say no to the iPod. You have got to be kidding. If the gift was not lame enough, the Obamamessiah also included his speeches as well. Narcissism running wild. How does one sit among their advisors and come up with an iPod as a gift to bestow upon the Queen of England? Simply amazing.

Could you imagine if GWB had done something so foolish and arrogant? I hear the cowboy references already. Then again, it was Bush’s fault that Obama gave the queen an iPod.

    2. Jack Hammer on April 2nd, 2009 8:20 am

Give it up with Obama already. You are wasting your time. He is the President and there is nothing you can do about it. If he took a crap and did not wipe properly, you would have something to say about that. And all your brainwashed followers would be there commenting on what a horrible President he was. Did you forget about what Bush did for this country.

Gee Jack thanks for reminding us how sunk we are. Again you, like the other liberals, go after GWB, failing to recognize that O has done more harm to this Country and Americans is a mere 3 months than GWB did in 8 years.

So you really want to be a socialist? Why didn’t you move to Venezuela instead of ruining another country?

Brainwashed? Excuse me, but who are the ones blindly following a community organizer who is taking over private business while bankrupting every American?

      So clueless it’s laughable.

#2 No, we are not going to give it up. For 8 years we had to listen to the left wing morons, the hollywood elite and the MSM blast Bush about anything & everything, the guy did not get a break from the ridicule. He had to deal with a terrorist attack within months of him taking oath of office, he had wars to deal with, natural disasters to deal with but yet did he get any respect? Hell No. Barack Hussein Obama is an idiot, so get used to at least 4 years of us complaining about his ineptness. Bush never gave lame ass gifts to the Prime Ministers or the Queen. Bush never went on Prime Time television and make fun of the “Special Olympics” Bush didn’t go television and laugh about how bad things are. Bush never gave the wrong speech. He didn’t depend on a teleprompter to tell him what to say. I’m not saying the man didn’t make some mistakes or that I agree with everything he did during his 8 years but I do feel he did what he thought was good for this country. We haven’t had another terrorist attack in the past 7 years and to me that speeks volumes. He cared about this country and he didn’t care about being Mr. Popularity. He was a much better President than the one we have now. Speaking of brainwashing. You should know because you have certainly been brainwashed by the media into thinking that Obama has a clue. He promised hope & change and so far it appears hopeless and I’m not happy with the kind of change he’s making. Spend, spend, spend, control, control, control. No, we haven’t forgotten what Bush did for this country, he made us safer & stronger.

SO GET A CLUE if you don’t like what’s posted here then LEAVE.

    8. Michelle Smith on April 2nd, 2009 9:27 am

YoYo I don’t find it funny at all that the President is a moron. I certainly don’t find it funny that 52% of this country voted for a community organizer to run this country. I don’t find it funny that he’s ruining this country. I don’t find it funny that he’s already spent more money in three months than Bush did in 8 years but all we heard for 8 years is how bad Bush was and how much money he spent.

      What a bunch of losers.

During an impassioned debate on the House floor Wednesday, Democratic Rep. Barney Frank characterized Republican opposition to the Pay for Performance Act as a manifestation of “a psychological disorder” and compared GOP lawmakers to “kids who have had a toy bear or a security blanket” taken away.

Oh,now ain’t that the pot belly calling the

I hope you do realize, that the Queen gave the Obama’s a signed picture of her and her husband. That is the traditional gift from the queen to a new president.
So, while you’re going on about Obama’s narcissism and cheap gifts, you do have that to compare it to.
Also, the iPod contained mostly pictures & videos of the Queen’s trips to America, and just 2 of Obama’s speeches.
If you think the Obamas purchased the iPod, and then were sitting around loading these things onto the iPod, rather than having an aide take care of it, I’m sad for you.
Finally, one poster claimed that Obama has done more to hurt the country in a few months than Bush did in 8 years….Funny then, that you need to spend your time b*tching about something as trivial as a token gift to token royalty.

FNC’s Napolitano Claims Bush Administration Committed ‘Extortion’ Against Banks

      By Jeff Poor
      April 1, 2009 – 19:28 ET

It’s no secret the Bush administration used fear tactics to push the $700-billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) through Congress last fall. Both members of the House and the Senate have come out after the fact and disclosed the details.

However, the method the Treasury Department employed to get banks to go along with the TARP bailout breached legal boundaries to the point of “extortion,” according to Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Andrew Napolitano, a former Superior Court Judge for the state of New Jersey.

Napolitano told viewers on FNC’s April 1 “Studio B” that he had a conversation with a head of $250-billion bank that explained the federal government, under the threat of an audit, forced him to accept TARP funds.

      These are our concerns…

      http://tinyurl.com/dm7fx8

      Updated: 04.02.09

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico is owning up to its leaky border as it launches a new program to monitor vehicles entering the country. The goal is to weigh and photograph southbound cars and trucks, in hopes of snaring more gun smugglers.

As the Obama administration promises a crackdown on the illegal U.S. weapons trade that supplies the drug cartels, Mexico is acknowledging shortcomings on its side of the 2,000-mile border.

“Security concerns require a customs overhaul,” Alfredo Gutierrez Ortiz, who oversees border checkpoints as director of Mexico’s tax collection agency, said. “Today, passenger vehicles really enter without being inspected.”

Mexico checks only 10 percent of the 230,000 vehicles that cross the border each day, according to the federal Attorney General’s Office. By weighing cars to see whether they are unusually heavy, and running license plate numbers through a database of suspicious vehicles, the government hopes to catch more hidden contraband.

The United States has long weighed and checked the license plates of northbound vehicles, but the technology is new to Mexico, which is installing it at all customs checkpoints. It was introduced last week at Matamoros, across the Rio Grande from Brownsville, and should be added along Mexico’s border with Guatemala by year’s end.

Inspections are now mostly determined by lights that randomly flash red or green.

Inside Mexico, strict gun control laws prohibit sales of weapons with calibers higher than a .38 handgun. To buy those, citizens must get permission from the Defense Department.

North of the border, however, the cartels simply pay straw buyers to pick up weapons at gun shops, gun shows or flea markets, then resell the arms to smugglers.

The ATF says it has traced up to 95 percent of guns seized at scenes of drug violence in Mexico to U.S. commercial sources. These weapons are increasingly higher-powered, including .50-caliber Barrett rifles and ammunition that can pierce the armor of Mexican soldiers and police.

“A year ago, we never saw those guns going south into Mexico,” said Tom Mangan, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. “Now we refer to it as one of the weapons of choice.”

Mexico’s effort coincides with President Barack Obama’s pledge to dispatch nearly 500 more federal agents to the border, along with X-ray machines and drug-sniffing dogs to stop the spillover of Mexico’s drug violence and curb gun smuggling.

Experts are skeptical about the chances of slowing the weapons supply. Gun runners easily smuggle thousands of weapons in small numbers at a time, taking them apart and hiding them in suitcases or even TVs and DVD players. Smugglers also can avoid checkpoints, carrying weapons along the same desolate corridors that bring drugs and migrants north.

… and you want to start a war among your own people?

      @ Jack Hammer

There are many who believe Bush 43 will be regarded as a hero one day. Has any nation ever spent it’s way out of a recession or a depression?

What happened to living below your means and saving for a rainy day?

    25. HOPE on April 2nd, 2009 10:47 pm

I agree with Jack Hammer. Through the power of media, anyone can be painted the bad guy. Maybe we need to think outside the box instead of letting one network or one newspaper dictate how we feel. As you know, every newspaper publication is going to print its’ commentary in the direction of his perception of truth. It may not be the truth, at all; but it sells newspapers in the interim.

Politics is a lot of poppycock. And I would venture to guess that no matter how he uses his toilet paper, there will always be a critic saying he should have done it the other way. Hindsight’s 20/20, besides, it really isn’t any of our business what he does behind THOSE doors… his personal life is private and shouldn’t be blasted on any newspaper cover or private forums… and a gift should be accepted in the spirit it was given. I’m sure the Queen isn’t crying in her tea because she got an i-pod instead of a picture to hang on the wall… and if she is, we don’t hear her complaining and pointing fingers, do we?

    26. Pat in Alabama on April 2nd, 2009 10:59 pm

The figure of US being the source of 90% isn’t true, but it makes great fodder for the MSM and politicians are using it to warm people up to the idea of stricter gun control.

Here’s another version of the truth:

I have also lived long enough to see that some people’s life perceptions have flipped and become

    31. katablog on April 3rd, 2009 8:17 am

I don’t believe in “tit for tat”. My thoughts on OweBama have nothing to do with how GWB was or wasn’t treated. And, I think people should realize just how serious the situation is instead of arguing over petty things like iPod gifts (though I admit it shows a lack of judgment. The UK does have iPods, it’s not unique).

Here are some things to judge O on: In November 2008, unemployment was at 6.7%, a 15 year high. 10.3 million people were unemployed.

At the end of March 2009, unemployment is at 8.5%, a 26 year high, with 13.2 million people unemployed.

In other words America – we’ve spent $767 Billion on “saving jobs” and somehow lost 3 million jobs while doing so.

Now Congress is following that up by passing a $3.7 trillion budget for 2010. Do most of you get how large a trillion is? In a time of incredible unemployment, an economic meltdown, a recession – the US Government is going to spend more than all other presidents combined! Does that make sense to anyone?

Forget it. Just forget it! I, us, we are going to rib Obama till the cows come home, just like you, they, them did to President Bush. Obama deserves all the criticism we can think of. He’s the first truly unqualified President we have had since Jimmy Carter, and I, we; us are going to make the best of it. Let’s face it; the guy doesn’t know his @ss from a hole in the ground.

The excitement is building on talk radio and elsewhere. We are going to have all kinds of fun with a true idiot in the office of President. I’m looking forward to the fireside chats, and the sweaters again.

Oh, joy. Oh, fun. I love it. It’s going to be blunder after blunder.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a gimi Jimi kinda guy, but wow—talk about putting your self into something—now that was Jimi.

    34. Waterboy on April 3rd, 2009 8:43 am

You know, If Obama gave me such an I-pod, I would be very appreciative (unless is were a cheap version). A touch would be good.

I’d dump all the Obama stuff, and load in the Green Hulk—just for those times when things get really boring.

I had a recording of my history teacher in high school. When I was a senior, I had bad insomnia problems. I’d play the recording of my history teacher, and I’d be instantly asleep. The only problem is I have things like “Upon the voyage of John Cabot—England based all her claims to the new world.” Stuck in my head.

I might use Obama’s gift I-pod as a sleep aide. I would just hope and pray that nothing would stick in my head. I might walk around thinking, “My white grandmother, my white grandmother, my white grandmother.” I might accidently call my wife “my white grandmother.” I might call my dog, “my white grandmother.”

Hope this makes sense to someone! It seems funny to me.

Hey Hope, where do you think the rocket launchers and hand grenades are comming from? Gun shows or maybe Walmart? Get a clue, weapons and supplies are flowing from the south of Mexico along with the drugs and gang members that flow freely into US from south america via mexico.

Where have you been? This is a full assualt on America by mexico. How do you think that a country that requires every male age 18 years to serve in the military cannot stop the flow of illegals and drugs to America? It’s because they don’t want to.

Here is a little history lesson for you. Do you remember the Alamo? It’s not just some folklore you know. I know that Mexicans still believe that Texas and most of the southwest US still belong to Mexico. They will laugh at you when they tell you that too. They feel the only thing illegal about them crossing the border is the border. Most of them will share with you that the feeling in Mexico is that soon they will take it back and then some.

The funny thing is that the liberal weenies will help them do it and they don’t give one shit if you our family is subjected to whatever may come. Gang members from south america kill with no regard for US law, they are illegals and are granted more rights than US citizens.

Guns at gun shows can only be sold to US citizens after an FBI background check. Every legal firearm has a form that is kept by the licensed seller and the state in case that firearm is used in a crime it can be traced to the buyer. A person can sell their own personal weapon to anybody they chose, but they are responsible for that weapon until the end of time because that form will be on file with them as the owner. There is not a way to change it, it’s yours for life.

So with that in mind, how many sane people would sell a civilianized military type firearm to just anybody and be responsible for what that person may do with it? Not many I can tell you. Most sane people are holding on to that firearm because they are sane and see the BS through the fog.

Yes I’m sure there are a few “straw” buyers, but it is a drop compared to the number of guns that the drug cartels have. I’m sure some are stolen from US citizens, but wouldn’t that beg for better inforcement of existing laws to keep these weapons from being stolen? No, the liberal solution, or better yet, excuse is making it illegal for honest citizens to protect themselves from a useless governments failed attempt at protecting us from criminals.

Nothing against you Hope, but you represent the feelings of many about guns and gun control and I just had to rant.

      Rusty:

I agree with you. But, you ever hear of false I.D.? How about identity theft? Obviously, these coyote’s bring people into our country and smuggle things back using the same routes.

IMO if anyone wants to make fun of slow people, they need to go to the forum… the rumor mill would be better suited for your agenda. What fun… invite people in, ‘Come on down from the rafters”, and have them investigated for participating. It does not look good. It makes for great entertainment from the outside, but I have better things to do than to lay around trying to make myself look important and point fingers and laugh at their bloggers.

BTW: Other than keeping track of the dying in Aruba, they have done very little to help Natalee or anyone else. I’d match my reputation against theirs any day.
