But two weeks ago the lawyer for a convicted killer contacts Drew Kesse, Jennifer’s father. While its not unusual for Kesse to get tips the latest came from a man involved ina high profile murder of a Central Florida woman.

“I think it just one more lead that has to be follow up on,” Kesse said. “If it turns out then we have something to go on.”

The tip came from David Russ who is currently in the Seminole County jail waiting to be sentenced after he pled guilty for the murder of Madeline Leinen in 2007. Russ asked to meet with Drew Kesse because he claims to have information about Jennifer’s disappearance.

Rev. Joseph Lowery, Was This What America Really Needed? Race-based benediction: “When white will embrace what is right”

This was hardly the time or the place to make such a comment. Didn’t Obama say today in his Inauguration Speech, “On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” I guess the good Reverend Lowery did not get the memo.

There has been so much talk about Obama bringing together Republicans and Democrats, whites and blacks and starting a new era and tone in the White House for America. A funny thing happened on the way to the swearing in … an ill timed and ill tempered race based benediction by Rev. Joseph Lowery that was just really uncalled for. Was this really necessary? This is exactly the very stuff that many feared would have occurred if former Obama pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright had done the benediction. This is fellowship?

Pray that “white will embrace what is right!!!” As Hot Air states, Didn’t whites just do that by electing Jesus Christ president? As Allah Pundit also asks, “that Rick Warren’s pretty controversial, huh?”

“We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right, Lowery said.

Michelle Malkin also questions the message that such a benediction sends. One wonders what type of reaction they are looking to get, or do they not want people to get along?

But the benediction’s eloquence was marred by glib racialism.

Lowery got big cheers when he weaved in a weird prayer rap expressing his hope for a future in which the “brown would stick around,” the “yellow would be mellow,” the “red man would get ahead, man,” and the “white would embrace the right.”

The “white would embrace the right?”

Who wrote that line? Jeremiah Wright? And what would Obama’s grandparents and mother have to say?

Barack Obama to Call for a New Era of Responsibility … Look in the Mirror

As Barack Obama takes office today and becomes America’s first black President, he will be calling on us to embrace a new era of responsibility. This is an issue that we will delve into much more in the future; however, shouldn’t the era of responsibility start in Washington, DC first? If you were really serious about responsibility you’re first act would actually be to make politicians responsible to their word and the people.

Americans poured into the nation’s capital to celebrate the inauguration of their first black president. But with the U.S. in its worst economic crisis since the Depression and at war on two fronts, Barack Obama was expected to call on the country to embrace a new culture of responsibility when he takes office at noon.

The inaugural crowd Tuesday could reach two million people, one of the largest gatherings in Washington’s history. Millions more will be watching across the U.S. and around the world, with outdoor video screens planned for public squares.

We will post on this in much greater length; however, responsibility begins at the top. Obama best get his houses in order first before he expects the American people to embrace responsibility. Who is to say they have not been? Was it “We the People” who caused the subprime mortgage debacle and the greed on Wall Street? Was it “We the People” who caused already existing oversight Housing committees, headed by Democrats, that allowed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to implode? Was it “We the People” who have voted on billions of dollars of bail out packages to companies who have abused the process?

Era of responsibility.

Responsibility means to not burden future generations with trillions of debt. That used to mean something.

It is not the people that stopped being responsible, it is a government who cares more for themselves, their pay raises, their camera time and their partisan bickering rather than doing the work of the people. That does not mean creating a socialist nanny government, it means protecting where you should and letting us be able to prosper.

One last time to President-elect Obama, the Senate and the House … you work for us.

Who do you think should be responsible?

UPDATE I: Obama takes power, urges unity vs. ‘raging storms’

Barack Hussein Obama claimed his place in history as America’s first black president Tuesday, summoning a dispirited and divided nation to unite in hope against the “gathering clouds and raging storms” of unfinished war and grave economic woe. A jubilant crowd of more than a million waited for hours in frigid temperatures to witness the moment as a young black man with a foreign-sounding name took command of a nation founded by slaveholders.

“What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility – a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly,” Obama said. “This is the price and the promise of citizenship.”

UPDATE II: Obama’s inaugural address can be read HERE. Looks like all were not pleased with Obama’s speech. The New Republic called it “A Disappointing Hodgepodge.” Personally, I believe the time for talk is over. We have had enough rhetoric and promises of a better day. Its time to act.

UPDATE III: So much for can’t we all get along and peace, love  and harmony as Barack Obama repudiates Bush Era in Address. Also, nice to see that the Obama audience showed the class and dignity that we all knew they had in them as theymocked GWB. Even Obama took shots at President GWB. Obama will learn a lesson from all this and that is he is supposed to act like a grown up and lead. The election and speeches are over. You wanted the job, so the burden is now on you, including the criticism.

The day was even icier for former President George W. Bush, who was greeted with boos when he took the inaugural stage. A chant broke out somewhere along the packed Mall and soon thousands near the Capitol joined in: “Nah nah nah nah, hey hey, goodbye.” The man who had helped America weather Sept. 11 smiled stoically.

And Sen. Joe Lieberman, a former Democratic vice-presidential candidate turned independent who endorsed Sen. John McCain for president, brought a cackle of boos from the once-jovial crowd. “Traitor!” one man yelled at the giant screen.

Even the man who had come to unite all Americans could not put aside the sometimes vitriolic rhetoric that propelled him to the presidency.

“The time has come to set aside childish things,” said the Democrat who ran against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and then Mr. McCain, but who often used his campaign speeches to deride the man he sought to succeed in the White House. “Our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions, that time has surely passed,” he said as the now-gray-haired Mr. Bush looked on.

It appears the lack of class has not been lost by Floppy Aces either. I thought this was supposed to be a new era, a new Presidency, one that chose “hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” Looks like that is nothing more than lip service, what a shock.

After all, we saw that from the top down, Obama’s swipe at Bush in an interview last Friday was followed by Rahm Emanuel, now White House Chief of Staff, using the phrase “last eight years” as a pretext to excuse whatever missteps Obama might make.

The Gateway Pundit has the video of Bush’s final abuse as President. Obama and his people think that this will pave the way for The One to get a free pass and be embraced by Republicans? They sadly and ignorantly have drawn the line in the sand and think they are above reproach. They are sadly mistaken.

UPDATE IV: US. Stocks Slide in Dow Average’s Worst Inauguration Day Drop

What did the US markets think of Obama taking the reigns … worst Inauguration Day decline ever. It was stated that Wall Street spoiled the party; however, maybe Wall Street does not believe the rhetoric or is scared of socialism. I guess the Markets did not get the memo that they are supposed to be happy by government take over. If the markets had gone up, all we would have heard is that its a reaction to Obama and his positive message. Instead, silence. Obama can do no wrong although he will soon learn that the negative news of reality is on his shoulders. Pomp and circumstance does not impress the real world.

U.S. stocks sank, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average to its worst Inauguration Day decline, as speculation banks must raise more capital sent financial shares to an almost 14-year low.

Now Its OK for Hollywood Hypocrites to Support Their President, Obama: The Cult of Celebrity

Hollywood Hypocrisy …

File this one under the bizzaro moment of the day. For 8 years the Hollywood left crowd has done everything humanly possible to tear down and undermine the Presidency of George W. Bush. Suddenly now that their messiah has become President they are ready to serve him and make a pledge to serve The One.

Where was their support Bush? Did they not think that GWB needed their help as well and for all people to come together? Not in the slightest and the liberal celebs would find a way to make fun and mock him at every opportunity. Suddenly it is now different because they are willing to support Obama. Big Hollywood writes a great piece on  … “I Pledge to Ridicule Celebrities Who Refuse to Recognize We Are At War With People Who Want to Kill Them, Too”.

Many of the celebrities that were central to demonizing and making life impossible for President Bush for eight loathsome years NOW want to help with the heavy lifting of bringing America back together under President Barack Obama.

I pledge to be a servant to our President

MySpace Celebrity and Katalyst present The Presidential Pledge

Pledge? This video has all the freaky and scary undertones of cult. Does anyone else find this pledge video just a tad bit bizarre?

As Flopping Aces so accurately points out, “isn’t the President a servant of the people? Not the other way around?”

Among the celebrities we have Eva Mendez, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Eva Longoria Parker, Lucy Liu, Alyssa Milano, Ashton Kutcher, Robin Wright Penn, Marisa Tomei and Michael Strahan all appearing and making fools of themselves showing pure obedience to the one.

What hypocrisy.

The Gateway Pundit has a pledge of his own … “I pledge to show Barack Obama as much respect as these Hollywood hypocrites showed President Bush.”

Red State has numerous great pledges as well, “I pledge to remember that celebrities are not the people to go to for intelligent thought”.

As Breitbart states, missing is the following pledge from the Hollywood Lefties as well:

Missing are pledges not to kiss the ring of Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and other pledged enemies of America. Nor are there pledges not to make movies that glorify these tyrants. Nor are there pledges to take seriously that we are at war, will continue to be at war under President Obama and that our precious and under-appreciated military is fighting an avowed and evil enemy — so that, among other things, Hollywood can continue to make decadent crap that actually motivates our enemy to fight us harder!

BTW, didn’t these same people pledge to leave the United States when GWB became President? These people really are to be seen and not heard. They make their living reading what other people have written for them. Hmm … no wonder they sound like a mind numb zombie cult.

Its about Time: President Bush Commutes Sentences on Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean

FINALLY!!! We would have preferred it to be a full pardon; however, President George W. Bush has commuted the sentences of Border agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The agents were convicted in 2006 of shooting and wounding an unarmed illegal immigrant, as per CNN,  suspected of drug smuggling at the time and then covering it up. No, they shot an admitted drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila “in the buttocks”.  What a sad state of affairs when we have US prosecutors more concerned with illegal drug smugglers rights, than that of our border patrol.

Dana Pretzer of Scared Monkeys radio has previously interviewed Steve Elliot, the President of GrassFire.com who have been instrumental in the petition effort to get justice for Ramos and Compean.

Dana also devotes his Daily Commentary to this subject on Tuesday, January 20, 2009:

It’s about time lame duck GWB did the right thing and ended Compean and Romos’ nightmare.

Borderpatrolgofree

In his final acts of clemency, President George W. Bush on Monday commuted the prison sentences of two former U.S. Border Patrol agents whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited fierce debate about illegal immigration. Bush’s decision to commute the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who tried to cover up the shooting, was welcomed by both Republican and Democratic members of Congress. They had long argued that the agents were merely doing their jobs, defending the American border against criminals. They also maintained that the more than 10-year prison sentences the pair was given were too harsh.
