Will Obama be Brought up on War Crimes Like the LEFT Wanted for George Bush?

Barack Obama … War Criminal … Baby Killer?

What a difference the outrage of such an attack is when it is done under a Barack Obama administration as opposed to GWB. Is that the “Change We Can believe in” … bias media reporting?

Drone_plane

For most of George W. Bush’s Presidency the LEFT wanted Bush to be brought up on war crimes for the killing of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. The question is will the LEFT now call Barack Obama a war criminal for killing civilians? So GWB is supposed to be tried for war crimes and Obama gets a pass? The recent US air strike that killed at least 20 people is as WAPO calls it, a concrete sign of Obama’s Pakistan policy.

The separate strikes on two compounds, coming three hours apart and involving five missiles fired from Afghanistan-based Predator drone aircraft, were the first high-profile hostile military actions taken under Obama’s four-day-old presidency. A Pakistani security official said in Islamabad that the strikes appeared to have killed at least 10 insurgents, including five foreign nationals and possibly even “a high-value target” such as a senior al-Qaeda or Taliban official.

Bush-jail_bars-war_criminal

If the LEFT had their way, but Obama gets a free pass for doing the same

The Huffington Post had previously posted an article that Obama would review potential war crimes in the Bush White House. Will he review his own Administration? But I guess they will give “The Chosen One” a pass as well.

However, the UK Times is reporting that President Obama ‘orders Pakistan drone attacks’ that is a clear sign that the controversial military policy begun by George W. Bush has not changed. They also reported that 3 children were killed in the attack. So where is the outrage from the LEFT? Where is the call for a war crimes trial for Obama as they have clambered for years when this occurred under Bush? Why isn’t the LEFT and the MSM calling Obama a baby killer? They would have if GWB did this. The Left seems not to condemn, but only for Obama to get Afghanistan right.

The Gateway Pundit reminds of of Obama comments from August 14, 2007.

“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.”

Afghan president: US forces killed 16 civilians

President Hamid Karzai condemned a U.S. operation he said killed 16 Afghan civilians, while hundreds of villagers denounced the American military during an angry demonstration Sunday.

Karzai said the killing of innocent Afghans during U.S. military operations “is strengthening the terrorists.”

Afghans protest US on the report that civilians were killed in airstrickes recent U.S. military backed raid in the eastern Laghman province.

Thousands of Afghans protested against President Hamid Karzai and the United States on Sunday over reports of fresh civilian deaths caused by U.S.-led troops during a raid against Taliban militants.

The issue of civilian casualties is sensitive in Afghanistan and has eroded public support for Karzai’s government and the foreign troops backing it.

Is Obama even aware of the airstrike? I guess they (the real powers) would have to tell him about it just in case the press asked.

    2. caesu on January 25th, 2009 5:58 pm

the main war crime the Bush administration will be prosecuted for is starting an illegal war of agression in Iraq.

this while neglecting Al-Qaida in Afghanistan.
and bolstering the military of Pakistan while this country provided safe haven for Al-Qaida.

thanks to Obama’s harsh words on Pakistan, Pakistan started seriously fighting Al-Qaida a couple of months ago.
      _________
SM: I strongly suggest you read the LEFT blogs like MyDD, Daily Kos & Huffington Post to name a few. They have called GWB a baby killer and compared it to the rhetoric of Vietnam. There is no debating that issue. They have also wanted him to be put up on war crimes for this.

Illegal War??? You mean the one that Congress supported? If it was so illegal, why did the House and Senate keep funding it?

BS, Obama is getting a free pass again … you think its legal to bomb a sovergn country? Really? Take out the fact that he is going after terrorits, do you honstly think its legal? Imagine if say France bombed the US to take out a group of terrorists, would that be legal? Hardly.

Obama is one again getting a pass and playing a dangerous game with an ally.

Karzai said the killing of innocent Afghans during U.S. military operations “is strengthening the terrorists.”

But if this was ever said of Bush … GWB is harming the war on terror.

This free pass that Obama gets is going to bite all of us in the a$$ one day.

if it is barney obama giving the order to strike, it’s all ok with the dumbocrats. everything obama does will be decided by other people. he is at best a weak puppet led by the democratic congress. as theyu said” i don’t work for obama “.

#2 “thanks to Obama’s harsh words on Pakistan, Pakistan started seriously fighting Al-Qaida a couple of months ago.”

LMAO! The only words Obama uses effectively are the ones he used to mesmerize the world into thinking he was the messiah of “change”. The only thing that has changed is the name on the door.

Illegal war? That is the best you got? Somehow in liberals eyes, bombing a nuetral country and killing civilians is okay as long as “the one” said to do it? You really are all drunk on the koolaide now. They have been putting more than just wang in it. Maybe ecstacy.

    6. Michelle in MS on January 26th, 2009 10:55 am

      #2 LMAO

That is some potent koolaide you’ve been drinking. LOL

WOW! That’s the best you’ve got?

    7. caesu on January 26th, 2009 11:19 am

      yes, illegal war.
as Iraq posed no threat for the US.
the Bush administration cherry picked false bits of intelligence to sell the war while ignoring overwhelming amounts of intelligence which disputed the bits of false intelligence.

reminder: 9/11 was perpetrated by Al-Qaida.
they are still active in the Afghanistan/Pakistan border region.
so nothing wrong with bombing them.

and yes this intesified bombing started many months before the election after Obama laid out his plans to battle Al-Qaida.
totally in agreement with Petraeus, who was about to take command of USCENTCOM.

    8. scott on January 26th, 2009 11:38 am

No caesu definitely likes WANG! LOL!

No sense in arguing with a liberal with no sense, no sense in arguing with a liberal anyways because they are NEVER EVER wrong.

Obama drone attacks are killing innocents but it’s ok as long as the inexperienced one does it…

      STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES!

Obama’s answer to getting the world to like us…send them money, whatever they want!

Caesu – you must be banging that communist Nancy Pelosi…LOL…

    9. arubatraveladvisory on January 26th, 2009 11:44 am

We all know that most of what Obama said was to get votes. ‘Hope and Change’ is just more of the same or kneejerk decisions done to look like he is living up to campaign promises (Gitmo, perhaps?).

In the end, Obama knows that he will need to continue Bush’s orders for Predator attacks in Pakistan. He will also have to escalate our presence in Afghanistan now that Bush has won Iraq.

But, both in Pakistan and Afghanistan there have been bombings that have taken out civilians as collateral damage —- on Obama’s watch. For those wanting to try Bush on war crimes, have at Obama too because he now has the same on his hands.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully support blowing up the Taliban at any opportunity available – in Pakistan or Afghanistan. I just want those who were demanding war crimes against Bush to now demand the same for Obama.

Why do I think there will be silence?

    10. Rusty Bridges on January 26th, 2009 12:11 pm

“nothing wrong with bombing them”? Yes there is, according to Obama. That is, before he was against it, after he was for it, before he was for it , when he was a against it, after he was for being for it, before he was for it, unless it was after he was for and against it, before he was against being against it, before he was for it……………………………………………………………

    13. caesu on January 26th, 2009 3:22 pm

      @ Rusty Bridges

Obama never said he wouldn’t go after Al-Qaida/Bin Laden.

‘I don’t know where he is and I don’t really spend much time on him’
George Bush when asked about capturing Bin Laden.

instead he spend time selling the Iraq war with intelligence known to be false by the CIA/Pentagon/State Dept.

    14. dennisintn on January 26th, 2009 3:31 pm

#5, yes, he changed the name on the door, and he moved the “the buck stops here” sign from the oval office desk and had it mounted on the bush portrait.

i fully expect chris matthews to have an hour show by friday explaining how bush had actually order the bombing just before he left office and failed to tell obama about it.

Hilarious! Are you republican victims for or against this air strike? “R” in post #2 whining about blogs as if they meant anything. Really? “R” says in #2: “you think its legal to bomb a sovergn country? Really? Take out the fact that he is going after terrorits, do you honstly think its legal?” How stupid is that comment. GWB did the same on the Afghan-Pakistan border but “R” didn’t have an issue before. Now “R” does…what a victim of left blogs “R” is. Boo Hoo.
Were you people really that “non-thinking” that you thought US foreign policy was going to change significantly with a new President?

The U.S. will continue the missile strikes as long as they are working and as long as they are deemed useful.
Eighteen dead terrorists in Waristan. I call that not a bad start.

    16. super dave on January 27th, 2009 7:08 am

#15: youdon’t get it ? it was a bad thing when Bush did it but now when your mwssiah does it, it’s ok. democrats should change their party to flip flop.

    17. scott on January 27th, 2009 8:01 am

Nope..not an illegal war…never deemed an illegal war. The CIA/State Dept and whoever else, INCLUDING the British intelligence and other intelligence from other countries all agreed on the same intelligence; also INCLUDING a majority of the Congress agreed on it as well.

It’s funny how these liberal zealots say they don’t trust Congress..yada yada yada but yet they will believe a 9/11 Commission report done by these same people?!?…mainly Democrats by the way.

I believe the intelligence…still do. Sadaam knew we were coming. You really think that he didn’t have WMDs? LOL! He moved them to Syria and there is some intelligence to support it.

These same doofus left wingers are so worried about recycled toilet paper that they don’t see reality. They live in la-la land and want us to be wusses in the realm of world power.

These same losers claimed W went over there for oil…WRONG! What’s the reason now?

How about this reason and only reason? IRAN

You really think YOU know all the intelligence? You don’t think intelligence supports IRAN making nuclear weapons, possibly ones that could reach the East Coast of the USA? We got rid of a dictator who was killing his own people in masses. We are there to monitor the Middle East and to watch IRAN, a very capable country. A think this was a brillant strategic move. LOOK, when you join the military you are joining to be trained to go to war. If you don’t know that going in you shouldn’t be in the military. It’s a harsh reality but it’s still the reality. When you join the military you are asked to possible sacrafice your life…

No attacks in 7 years..but you can thank Clinton for dropping the ball before 9/11 and allowing terrorists to plan the attack under his watch…all because of Clinton’s weak national security policies, of which Obama is following.

Also nice to know Obama is sending out $400M + to fund abortions ALL OVER THE WORLD…LOL! He really does think he is GOD….

    18. yoyo muffintop on January 27th, 2009 8:13 am

Oh I get it – It’s a story about a couple of hundred people on a couple of blogs but it’s the only way to somehow bash The President of the United States for that day so let’s make it a story since all the other rightwing blogs are running with it because Sean Hannity is running with it.

      Brilliant – haha.

    19. Rusty Bridges on January 27th, 2009 8:35 am

Over 30,000 terrorists killed in Iraq! Top that Obama.

Hey, Yo Yo and Caesu, the point is that Obama preached a new and friendlier US while bashing McCain (McSame) and Bush as being war mongers. So guess what, now Obama is ordering bombings in a country that told us not to. Do you not see the problem with this.

In case you are wondering, since you don’t get it. I am all for wiping out terrorists wherever they are. What I don’t like is the world being told things would be different with Obama and in his first week he proves that to be a lie. That tends to piss off a lot of people around the globe. Not that I care, but all you liberals seemed to make a big deal out of it when Bush pulled the trigger. Now it is okay now that your messiah did it. That makes you a blind follower and a fool.

    20. super dave on January 27th, 2009 10:44 am

not to mention that the flip flop party called bush a baby killer when their chosen one signed a bill for our tax payer money to fund abortions.
but that doesn’t count for the flip flops.
and he is the first president i can remember giving his first formal tv interview to foriegners!
this should tell you where his loyalties lie.

SM I work for Boeing and was getting into a taxi yesterday and the cab driver started into me…asking me if I work for Boeing and then saying that it is a “criminal” company to work for becuase they make planes that kill innocent women and children in Iraq… I asked him about the suicide bombers that strap bombs to women and children there to kill our soldiers.

These idiots go on and on…I told him to “curb the conversation” if you know what I mean…

When I got out of the cab I said “God bless America” and slammed the door…

This guy was from some eastern country… I tried to guess, Pakistan ?? We have all kinds of foreign cabbies here and in every city of the USA and believe me some are very hostile….

With O’Bama in house now, I am concerned about our future protection of this great land of ours.

Tough talk on Pakistan from Obama
      Wed Aug 1, 2007 7:26pm EDT

Obama said if elected in November 2008 he would be willing to attack inside Pakistan with or without approval from the Pakistani government, a move that would likely cause anxiety in the already troubled region.

“If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will,” Obama said.

      http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0132206420070801

Obama is precisely following up on what he said during the campaign.

      as early as August 2007.

    23. super dave on January 27th, 2009 11:54 am

that cabbie is a possible suicide bomber himself. trust no one with your own safety. always be on the lookout. especially now that we have a president who welcomes these people with open arms.

    24. yoyo muffintop on January 27th, 2009 12:10 pm

      What lie Rusty?
“If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will.” Barack Obama

      Maybe you weren’t listening.

    25. Rusty Bridges on January 27th, 2009 1:41 pm

“Obama said he would make hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. military aid to Pakistan conditional on Pakistan making substantial progress in closing down training camps, evicting foreign fighters and preventing the Taliban from using Pakistan as a staging area for attacks on Afghanistan.”

Same reuters report. So, he had a week to give this money to Pakistan and decided they weren’t making progress so he dropped bombs on them.
After saying that we just can’t strike without regard for civilian lives.

Maybe I wasn’t listening again, didn’t some civilians die in these latest strikes?

    26. Rusty Bridges on January 27th, 2009 1:51 pm

      ABC news 1-27-09;

“President Barack Obama chose an Arabic satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, part of a concerted effort to repair relations with the Muslim world that were damaged under the previous administration.

Obama cited his Muslim background and relatives, practically a taboo issue during the U.S. presidential campaign, and said in the interview, which aired Tuesday, that one of his main tasks was to communicate to Muslims “that the Americans are not your enemy.”

So now the chameleon is Muslim.

    27. caesu on January 27th, 2009 2:27 pm

      @ Rusty Bridges

      #25
yes, the Bush administration has been giving Pakistan military aid to fight terrorists.
instead Pakistan used it to prepare for war against India.
Pakistan didn’t even want to eliminate Al-Qaida.
because if Al-Qaida got eliminated, the military aid from the U.S. would stop.

that’s why Obama is making the aid conditional!

      #26
no, he is not saying he is a Muslim.
watch the interview on Al-Arabiya again.
Islamist terrorism is a greater threat for Muslims than the western world.
so repairing the relations with the Muslim world can help to fight together Islamist terrorism.

by not calling for a ‘crusade’ like Bush did for example…

    28. yoyo muffintop on January 27th, 2009 5:04 pm

#25: What’s your issue with the predator strikes again?
I’m not understanding your stance – are you saying that what the President did in ordering the strikes was a bad thing or a good thing?

    29. Susan on January 27th, 2009 6:34 pm

      BREAKING NEWS!!

To save the economy in 2009, the Obama government will start deporting all of the weird old people in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. I started crying when I thought of you.

      Run my friend, RUN !!!!

Well….what can I say….someone sent it to me, and I’m not going alone!!!!

    30. Rusty Bridges on January 28th, 2009 8:39 am

#28 I no likey the predator strikes when they kill civilians. I likey the predator strikes when they kill only terrorists when sanctioned by the governing body of that country in which the terrorists are hiding. Like in Iraq.

So yes, it is a bad thing, very bad.

The subject of this post is that the liberals want GWB brought up on war crimes. So Obama sends in predators to a country that asked us to stop and killed civilians.

Now he is as much of a criminalas as GWB is considered by liberals. Where are the protests?

    31. Rusty Bridges on January 28th, 2009 9:04 am

      #27

Yeah, I know. But Obama said that HE would give aid to Pakistan. He did not give them very much time to meet those conditions that he set from the time HE began giving them money.

If he is not saying he is Muslim, even only at heart, why would he even bring up his “muslim background”?

    32. Jerry Engelbach on January 31st, 2009 4:02 am

American presidents have almost all been war criminals. After the drone attacks on Pakistan, Obama is already no exception. “War” is the code word that justifies murder.

The Right-wing nuts who justify the killing of civilians to protect themselves are as bad as the terrorists, and cowards besides, pontificating from the safety of their armchairs.

Incidentally, the “Left” that has been criticized on this blog is not a Left at all, it’s a Center. Anyone with an education knows from watching European politics what a real Left is: it’s socialism. And socialists would never make excuses for Obama or the representatives of any other capitalist party.
