BREAKING: According to WESH, sources close to the investigation in the 
case of missing Caylee Anthony state that preliminary lab results show there was chloroform in mother Casey Anthony’s car. So not only has decomposition been found in Casey’s car but now chloroform as well. I guess everyone just carries chloroform around in their vehicle along with decomposition that a dead body had been in the vehicle. One wonders how she came about possessing such a sedation drug.
When Casey Anthony was arrested in July her computer was confiscated which was shown to have multiple visits to web sites with information on chloroform. This certainly cannot be good.
Three sources close to the investigation into missing toddler Caylee Anthony told WESH 2 that preliminary lab results show there was chloroform in mother Casey Anthony’s car.
Chloroform is a chemical that was used years ago to sedate patients before surgery. A chemist told WESH 2 it is a fairly-hazardous material not readily available to consumers.
Sources told WESH 2 the level of chloroform in her car was “suspiciously high.” They also told WESH 2 that her computer confiscated within hours of her July arrest, show visits to Web sites with information on chloroform.

OMG….I haven’t heard this before. I was thinking that she probably gave Caylee something to make her sleep. Left her in the car and that is where she perished. Maybe she even put her in the trunk. While she went on to Party all night!

Casey deserves the maximum penalty..and goofus Cindy could of helped prevent all of this…your granddaughter is missing for a whole month and your not out there trying to find her but listening to your lying daughter, of which you are well aware of..you weren’t concerned if Caylee was eating properly or where she was sleeping every night, except in the bed with Casey and her male companions…so don’t tell everyone to go look for Caylee, when you should of done that a long time ago….dedicated decent people are helping with the search and your to ignorant to even appreciate their efforts…I can see why some are not willing to want to help you…your a bitch!!! Evidently, Casey uses Chloroform. Is the Chloroform the reason why Caylee was left in the car for so long or was it used on Caylee to put her to sleep, as well?

We don’t know that Casey used inhalants. The FBI knows exactly when Casey browsed those websites learning how to use chloroform.
I believe it will be shown that she did the search close to the time of the murder.
Not sure what she would be using this for.. Maybe to make the little girl sleep so she could party, no idea.. I watched the Nancy Grace show and I couldn’t believe Cindy Anthony’s behaviour. Totally off the wall.. I really felt bad for Tim Miller when he was on. He comes there to look for Caylee and it doesn’t cost her a dime.. and all Cindy can do is gripe about it. The more I see about Casey Anthony , the more I wonder if it was an accident at all.
Oh why in the world would the grandparents who know their daughter Caseys habits of alcohol abuse, sniffing inhalants or doing drugs along with sociopathical behavior would allow their precious grand daughter to even be with her.Why not get custody of Caylee from her? On Nancy Grace they really appear to be nuts so maybe the state should have taken over Caylees care or another family member with sense and caring of the baby. I am currently working on my bachelors , majoring in Criminal and Social Justice. Chloroform can also be used in the making of methamphetamine, along with many other hazerdous household agents, she was into partying, she may have been involved in manufacturing.
Sounds like the FBI are doing a thorough job of investigating this case…
Casey is cold hearted and cruel so there is no telling what she actually did with Caylee…Cindy did not even try to find Casey or Caylee until she was notified that her car was impounded, then she had no trouble finding her…

And I don’t believe for one minute that Cindy is getting hundreds of phone calls a day with sightings of Caylee….when the evidence is in and clearly states that Caylee is dead she still doesn’t want Tim Miller to continue his search as a dead body….
I think casey is an immature single mom that let the party life prevail over the love of her child. She may have been using drugs-huffing- or this was just plain ole’ premeditated murder. I personally believe that there is someone else involved, who has told her to NEVER admit to this horrible crime. I think if Casey did have help disposing of the body of calee, whoever helped had a little sense to hide or dispose of it nowhere near the orlando area, since there has been nothing found yet unless casey simply wrapped calee in a trash bag and threw her in a dumpster with no help. I hope the police search the many boyfriends computers, cell phone records, or cars because I think there is more evidence out there waiting to be found, and please search all of the landfills. OK. so if chloroform is a common ingredient used to create meth. The drug she has been rummored to use. Could Caylee have accidentally gotten ahold of this and passed away? Then Casey not report this because of the fear of retaliation in the drug community? Who was she calling on that cell phone? Friends flying in from Puerto Rico. Humm is chloroform readily available in Puerto Rico? Could it be transported in the check in luggage? Would these friends help cover up anything regarding the chloroform and Caylee’s overdose? Could they be held accountable for accidental hommicide too?
I agree with all of you. I was not aware of the methamphenimine use. But, for someone who has little money, huffing is a cheap high… however, it is HIGHLY addictive. Her latest charges of theft and check fraud go along with our suspicions of the use of drugs being involved. Does anyone know what was purchased with the bad checks?
As far as Puerto Rico… Chloroform would not be readily available, there, anymore than it is here. But, it’s no secret that Puerto Rico has a major drug problem… cocaine and heroin are the drugs most, readily, available. But, I like your concept and it is, certainly, possible that Caylee may have gotten ahold of a bottle of chloroform and it killed her. This drug is so potent and toxic that some first time users (inhaling its’ fumes) die instantly, from heart failure.
What the hell was Cindy thinking when she let her daughter walk out that door with Caylee and no place to go?
Has Cindy totally lost her mind? This family has not searched for little Caylee DEAD or ALIVE so why would anyone bother to call them with tips. This is so unbelievable that I find it deplorable that she and George continue to insult our intelligence with their lies. At this point I wouldn’t believe them if they said the sky is blue.
LE is doing an excellent job but I think we’ve just touched the tip of the iceberg as far as Casey is concerned. I wonder how long Caylee was in the trunk of the car before Casey dumped her body. It’s ashamed that innocent child has complete strangers more interested in her welfare than her own family.
I hope Tim Miller has success today in finding Caylee. This man has a heart of gold to do what he does, his job is not easy. Looking for the remains of anyone has to be very bittersweet. My hat goes off to Tim Miller and TES as well as the volunteers helping each day.
I’ve got a “tip” for Cindy. Make your daughter tell what she did with your granddaughter so she can be buried properly.
That may explain the purple haze in the LE interview with Tony. He seemed to be gone as much as possible and not know WHAT Casey was or was not doing while she was there. I think she had plenty of time to do a lot on his computer if she wanted to.I hope they can get any computers in his apt. and investigate. I think she used the drug to put Caylee to sleep so she could party and after doing that for nearly a month her little heart may have quit. In the jail call with her brother Lee, he acted like he knew she was doing something illegal. He ask if she was at Universal for work or fun or otherwise? He knows more about Casey than the parents do.
Maybe the bounty hunber is right. I have thought about that from the beginning about her brother being the father of Caylee. Even the name half Casey and half Lee’s. He may be more involved than you think possible he helped her get rid of Caylee.
This new info is just plain sickening. As for looking for Caylee, Cindy. An old Southern way for looking for something: Example.. if a marble rolls under the chair, you look under the chair for it, not down the hall or another room. My example shows that since Caylee was “lost” with her Mother then that is the first and best place to look..not in Texas!! Why not make your daughter tell us the truth and quit blaming everyone else.
What I forget to mention is why I think they have a different relationship not just brother and sister. On the jail phone calls he always refers to her a sweety or sweetheart. I could not imagine my brother calling me sweetheart and we got along great. She also says that her brother is beautiful, I just think that is odd.

Chloroform is a dangerous drug to use … from what I’ve read, it’s easy to administer an overdose, and instead of sedating the victim, you can kill the person.
In my view, if a mother (or any other adult) used such a substance on her child (or any other), either to put her to sleep or for darker purposes, that would be justification for a sentence of attempted murder.
Anyway, the presence of chloroform in the car (specifically in the trunk, or don’t we know?) doesn’t prove that the mother used it; perhaps she had a friend involved?
There’s another case where chloroform might have been used; in a car in Aruba some years ago.
Is Lee Casey’s full brother, half brother, or step brother? I know George and Cindy are the biological parents of Casey, but what about Lee?
As for looking for a lost marble…Cindy would claim a babysitter or alien came down and took it away.
In my comment above, I’m not cutting the mother any slack. But I think it’s possible that someone else did the actual chloroforming, if that is what happened. Perhaps a male friend.
I remember reading … I think it was on this blog, some time ago, but am not sure … about a woman who took up with a man who turned out to be a child molester. The relationship developed to the point at which he told her: choose between your daughter and me.
For whatever perverted reason, she chose him.

If in fact chloroform could have been used to clean the car of DNA and decomposition evidence, I believe Casey’s father had a part in disposing of Caylee’s body. He WAS A HOMICIDE DETECTIVE and he knows how to cover up. Have the police check survelliance videos at the local Wal-mart, Target, grocery store, etc..I bet they will find Miss. Casey buying trash bags, lighters, cleaners, etc..during that time frame..What did she do with Caylee!
Well since she wrote a bad check(s) for the items she purchased the store will have a record of the check # and the items purchased. It will also tell who checked her out,what time she was there etc..It will also help with the time line. If she did use a credit card there is a record of that with details. I am sure LE has checked all that….
I keep thinking about Cindy’s July 3rd myspace post, she talks about her Caylee being missing and not knowing why or where she is and then makes the comment, “who is looking out for my angel now?” That is a very disburbing thing to say. To me it implies she wasn’t urging Casey and Caylee to move out or take a bonding vacation or any of the other excuses shes spouted recently. To me that says she knew Caylee was in great danger being alone with Casey and was afraid for her. I have thought all along that Casey murdered her and now with the discovery of chloroform in the car and searches on her computer, it just seems like Cindy and George are guilty of either accs. after the fact or obstructing an inverstigation. I have been suspicious of Cindy and her washing the pants from the momennt I heard that. I hope LE is able to charge all of those involved in the death of Caylee. She deserves no less. RIP Caylee.

believe that an arguement between the parents and Casey took place and Casey threaten them that they would never see Caylee again. I think the parents know more than what they are saying which is a bunch of lies also, just like the daughter. My belief that Casey found out how to ingredients pool shock, acetone and ice is all very easy. Then she took caylee put her in the trunk out of site use the chloroform to quiet her and left pizza in case she woke up as a nice jesture in her mind in case baby got hungry if she woke up. Casey then goes clubbing and when she returns to car baby died from either heat or to much chloform left in the car. Casey than goes to house when parents are at work leaves baby hidden in backyard until she figures out what to do. The day she goes to neighbor was a ploy for alleybi as to what she was doing there to remove bamboo really why would she be back doing this when earlier she told parents she was going on trip with the baby to bond. I think she came to get caylee using the shovel as a story, but I do believe she did remove bamboo to use it as marking of where she placed the baby in the woods or lake. I would be looking for bamboo growing as it does grow fast and I believe this would indicate where the baby is. Also I do believe when Casey came back home she told parents finally what she did and this is why Cindy quickly went back to the car and got the tainted pants and washed them. Think about that who is going to think about washing a pair of pants when you are supposively learned that your grandchild has been kidnapped. I know that would be the last thing I would even thought of unless some one brought that to my attention. And then why wouldn’t Cindy throw away that old pizza? so they the family could try to outwit the police. I truely believe the grandparents know she’s dead but dont’ know where casey placed her and they were hoping that Casey would tell them if they lied for her. Strang commit by Casey about How a mothers bond with her child is unexplainable and mom cindy would know this” this was a code to her mother to keep quiet and help protect her story. I know as a grandmother in the same situation where my son and his child live with me since birth, I know exactly where my son takes his child and I also ask the child when the come home if he had fun, who was there, where did they go etc. My grandchild tells me everything about his outings. Crazy to believe Cindy and George never questioned Caylee in 1 1/2 years about her time spent with this so called babysitter come on folks. We are dealing with a pathalogical lying family who if you ask me still aren’t showing any real signs of emotional stress about Caylee. Why because they know she’d dead and there concern is only that of where is she buried.
I agree with what Ann (above) said to some extent …but not all. But cover ups seem to be going on in this family. Poor lil Caylee deserves the respect to be found. Sometimes you are called back home and then sometimes you are sent. Light a candle for her…show Her the way home! Blessed Be Caylee.

Huffing is sniffing… like in sniffing glue, spray paint, gas, chloroform, etc. It’s very addictive and life threatening. It can be just as bad as any other illegal drug use; and, in some cases worse. In long-term use, it can reduce someone to being, basically, retarded. It’s a cheap high and, at one time, there was so much abuse that most stores required I.D. to purchase certain products used in ‘huffing’. Certain manufacturers have tried to replace the chemicals that the huffer is seeking in aerosol containers to curb the problem.
It’s a short term high, so most people will huff again in 5 to 10 minutes to get the feeling of euphoria, again. It makes the heart race, much like amphenamines would, but doesn’t last as long.

I continue to pray for answers and hope Tim and his searchers can bring this poor, little girl home.

Like you, there is still a part of me that hopes that she may still be alive, somewhere.
Have they checked the vacant apartment to make sure that no one was staying there, breaking in, sleeping on the floor, etc. That’s an area that I would search, because maybe she placed Caylee in that area, trying to blame someone else for the crime and that’s why the family is trying to keep this story, about a kidnapping by the babysitter, etc., alive.

I had never heard of “huffing”. This gets stranger and stranger. I just pray they find Caylee’s body. Where could she have gotten chloroform?

Saw Fox news today and a reporter asked Dr. Michael Baden about chloroform and he said it could well have been used to put Caylee to sleep, so the mother could party.. He said it’s happened more than once.. He said he wasn’t saying that is what happened, but it’s a good possibility. I recently saw a story about Meth labs.. and had no idea, but the people who wrote the story said it takes thousands of dollars to clean one up. Due to the chemicals involved, it’s very dangerous to be around.
Don’t know WHY everyone is questioning where Casey would get chloroform. SHE DIDN’T! CINDY did!!! Cindy is a NURSE. You don’t think she had access to chloroform at work??? There is nothing that will make a person, totally, worthless like huffing will. It is, generally, used by the poor, but it has been known to be popular among the youth.

Any parent who knowingly uses chloroform to put a child to sleep so that he/she can go to a party … or for any other reason … should in my opinion be whipped in public. That’s a minimum. I could never believe that any parent would do such a thing … I suppose that’s only a sign of how naive I am.
Becky (#39) … I gather that chloroform is not used in hospitals any more; there are other and safer sedatives. But I have read that it is used as a solvent in dry cleaning … and perhaps some people in that business sell it to lowlifes.
Let’s remember … this ‘mother’ could have taken up with some scum that saw this little girl as a potential source of money or as a tool for abuse.
I don’t want to think about the possibilities, but could the mother have consented to handing her over to someone else? And could the perverted idea of a romantic relationship be causing her to shield that other person?

I wonder why there isn’t a search anymore. Why has the family stopped asking people to come and search ? If a search has been called off, then they must know the baby is no longer alive
I remember how sick and sad I felt when they ended the Lacey Petersen search. I feel so sad for this little girl to have had such a short life. I have a 3 year old niece, and I would not be able to handle it if she were killed. I don’t understand how the family especially the mother and grandmother are able to function. I couldn’t imagine going that long without seeing the child when the child lives there on a daily basis. I guess some people don’t know how to really love their children. How do you teach love to a mother who has killed their own child? I wonder when they are going to have funeral services for the child.. If they don’t find her.. I wonder if the state of Fla can claim her as deceased.Remember when we were all searching for the famous and wealthy pilot his family stopped the search claimed him as deceased

I think if she was making meth, the child could have been in the room, and the vapors can burn and christlyte the lungs, so I have heard. Then the child had to be disposed of, maybe shipped to another country, maybe another person involved.
I like this site. Like-minded crime buffs. I’m a true crime buff who was also lucky enough to have earned a law degree along the way. I got a whole library of this stuff at home (think JonBenet–see recent “touch DNA” on that case and Natalie/Aruba). GF thinks I’m nuts.
Some great theories out of here. One thing about “huffing.” If you’ve never heard of it, don’t worry about it, it exists, I’ve heard the term plenty of times. As for access to Chloroform, gimme a break, anybody here can’t get illegal substances? And unlike a pharmacist (my brother is one) who is solely responsible for controlled drugs, nurses are in proximity to stuff all the time….but I’m not of the school that is holding Cindy responsible. Not after her 911 call. But what an enabler! She calls Casey “sweetie” this and that (jailhouse tapes). I think she’s protecting Casey but I don’t believe she had guilty knowledge/scienter. Her 911 call of smells like a “dead body” is very damning. No way she would say that if she knew then what she may know now. Her actions of late are more bizarre though, but I still see it as a perverted protection of her spoiled daughter. Recall Scott Peterson’s parents, they could not believe their darling little Scott would so such a thing. I think she’s living in a surreal world of denial.
They are though responsible as parents who have raised a child in a questionable manner or has at least enabled Casey to be the lying, spoiled, narcissistic, parasitic, sociopathic, amoral, partying, promiscuous pathological party rat that she is.
The way Casey talks is interesting, she uses phrases like “to be “honest” “honestly” “truthfully” etc. Too much of this is found in people purposely lying. As the experts also said, she gives way too much detail, much like a lying person would. They do that to throw you off. In fact, studies have shown a lying person’s brain is more active in more areas than a truth telling person, cuz they are firing on all synapses (in her case, those that aren’t burned out).
My theory is a hybrid of the many fine theories here.
She has no money. She stole checks from her friend (hence charges). She siphons gas from her parents. Mooches off family and bfs. Excited about a bottle and some contest money at a hot body contest. If a Huffer, Huffing is a cheap way to get high. So probably not an escort, surprisingly. But seems certainly ready to dabble in illegal activities–meth lab make sense, but she doesn’t have the chemistry knowledge or patience to make it, so maybe helping someone? So she had some for personal use or “holding it” for one of her charming friends who makes meth. Whatever, she has it.
Casey called Caylee a “spoiled snot.” Well, if her parents spoiled Casey rotten, imagine how much love they showered on little Caylee–their first granddaughter. Recall they were upset cuz they haven’t seen her in awhile. Don’t get me wrong, she was a 3 year old child, innocent and not responsible for any harm to her. But could she have been perceived defiant to Casey (the original psycho?) by Casey? Maybe she refused to go to bed or do this or that. That could have set Casey off and she would then drug her as punishment and/or to go party. She she googles Chloroform to see how much to dose her with, and remember she’s pissed at little Caylee for something, maybe she’s projecting her anger on little Caylee cuz her mother just called her an “unfit mother” again. Maybe her ex was berating her. So three prong reason to use Chloroform. 1) Something external angered Casey 2) Caylee angered Casey 3) She wants to go party and be free of responsibilities. She doses the child, being in a hurry/careless/dumb she uses too much. Comes back home and Caylee is dead.
She panics, calls her parents all the while formulating in her head, that Caylee got into the stuff and her parents don’t answer. This was mentioned somewhere that she had called them numerous times one day, but they were unable to answer their phone. I think that’s the day it happened or was discovered.
So now, she’s got time to think it over and she’s thinking oh man, mom thinks I’m unfit, so she will probably press charges against me for having Chloroform around for Caylee to get into. Then I gotta rat out so and so for having it etc.
Okay, next best thing. Someone took her! The old Susan Smith ploy. Your hands are clean, now you are the grieving parent. See Scott Peterson, who was greatly pitied until Amber Frey came out. Diane Sawyer here I come (narcissistic people love the spotlight—see Bundy radiate as he becomes his own lawyer).
Meanwhile she puts her in the trunk. She barely has money to drive around at 4 bucks a gallon, so she dumps the body in a dumpster near pawn shop (she’s been there before selling stuff cuz she never has enough money). She thought this was a great idea, especially when she went back and checked and the garbage was gone. She thinks she is home free, even if they find the body, she was abducted and killed.
So she thinks this plan is so bulletproof that she doesn’t think the other stuff through. She takes the detectives to her job from 2 years ago, cuz she thinks it won’t be necessary, they’ll call it off cuz she’s so willing to help. After all, they’re men, and she just had relationship with a sheriff’s deputy—he was big time disciplined. They’ll be putty in her hands and they’ll focus on the abduction. The apartment where Zenaida lived was vacant, but from Casey’s viewpoint, that is the perfect abductor. Someone who strings along the parent, giving a false identity and a bogus address, and then takes off with the child—sounds like a movie of the week. Only police didn’t look at it like that, which messed her up. And they did go to her “office” and that messed her up. Now she’s gotta lie her way out of her original lies. Then she comes up with “I swore I’d lie or steal or do anything to help find Caylee.” This is now her new “cover.” Okay, so I look like a liar. Okay, I am a liar damn it, I’m lying to track my child from this abductor.
What’s comical about her lying is that its from an uneducated dolt. The jailhouse calls (very telling) of the police looked in the wrong database, “Zenaida is from FL, they didn’t look in the FL database, they would have found her.” Ummmm news flash on the federal level databases do communicate with each other. If Equifax and Transunion etc can track me from state to state, I think federal databases can too.

I think the mother may have been invovled too. She is acting just as strange as the Casey.. I cry about this story and I would only pray that Caylee is still alive but I know in my heart that she’s not. I hope she haunts her evil mother every day of her miserable life asking her why she would hurt her especially when you child depends on you to protect them. Why didn’t she just give the child to her parents instead of killing her.
I have had so many different thoughts on this.. Oh and I hope she gets murder charges on Tuesday.. Please god let that little girl get justice!!
This is very obvious she did it, to many lies, she ditched her car, didn’t call police the grandparents did.. OMG I just need to quit thinking about this because it just angers me. I am sure Casey will get hers rather it be a sentence in prison or someone in prison she will have to be in a seperate cell. This girl shows no remorse for what she did to her daughter. I have a daughter and she looks like caylee and she’s around the same age and everytime I look at her I think to myself how could anyone hurt a beautiful smart lil girl.. She wants all the attention you can tell by her smiles on her face and the way she struts her stuff when she walks.. Ok I am done with this because I am just getting angry but I will pray that she will get hers…
I’m watching Nancy Grace tonight and the breaking news is that Casey was looking up “recipes” for Chloroform. Not once did any of the morons on the show mention the fact that Casey might have been a huffer or maybe helping a friend make meth. And just because Google says their is a 1,000,000 pages with the word Chloroform, a stupid CNN reporter reported that there are over 1,000,000 websites that show how to make it. lol
Did they actually find a bottle of chloroform? Did you know that many chemicals,even some antimicrobials,when combined with chlorine (such as that in a swimming pool)…give off chloroform? Makes me wonder if poor Caylee did drown in the family pool and had chlorine on her clothing which turned into chloroform while she was most likely in the trunk. At least that’s one plausible explanation for the chloroform.

I’m new here but have been following this case from the start. The whole thing infuriates me. I’ve read through all the documents released, listened to all the calls, interviews–etc. I do think Casey was using drugs and probably huffing. As far as actually making chloro–no way was she doing that herself. She had to be working with someone. Those searches on “how to make” and “chloro 2″ etc…I really believe she did drug Caylee with it. I also think that someone in the family knows what happened and helped cover it up. Casey is not that smart. I am just so sick of all the lies and the fact that Cindy is backing her up. Nothing makes sense about this case–nothing. The entire family has to be lying–at least on some level.
From what i have read – Casey didn’t finish high school – I do not this she had the ability or know how to make Chloroform – she had to have help – also in her interviews with police – she appears to have at least 3 personalities
I just wanted to say that this is one of the most terrible crimes I have ever heard of in my life. I am personally a single mother of 3, and I could not even imagine “putting my child to sleep for my own satisfaction.” Casey is beyond what I would call a bitch. Caylee was a beautiful little girl and there are so many people in this country that would have taken her and loved her. I think Casey is a selfish, munipulating, lying, bitch. Casey makes me sick literally. I have watched her on several shows, including Nancy Grace. Everytime I see her she has this disgusting sly smile or grin on her face-almost like she is enjoying all the media attention. I also want to say this for little Caylee, and I do pray for her.

…first of all ~ in case any of ya’ll don’t know it, George and Cindy can’t just take custody. If they physically took Caylee from Casey – for ANY reason without a court order — it’s called kidanapping. And in case any of you don’t know it either — that is just as illegal as killing someone! It takes PROOF of neglect or abuse, an attorney, A LOT of money, time, AND most of all – a court order..
…I’ve been watching the trial and after reading the posts here, I can’t help but wonder (and Thank God) that I haven’t gotten “what I deserve” … by God’s grace and mercy I usually have so much more than I truly DESERVE…I am pretty sure that is true about most people…
…it is so sad that Caylee had to go through whatever hell she did — such a beautiful little girl and such a precious life…
I am sad for Casey too — that such a young girl was so ill equiped to be the mother Caylee needed and deserved – I choose to believe the best about people – and even if she has not shown it to the rest of the world I have to believe that when she and God are alone together that little by little the magnitude and reality of this all wrenches her soul…
