Barack Obama … The Chosen One … the Obamamessiah … Effective & Funny John McCain ad

If you cannot laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?

Barack Obama and the Left need to take a chill pill because McCain’s new ad, The One, if actually funny. In order for something to actually be funny, there needs to be some truth in it and not just a mean attack. The left can complain all they want, this ad was funny and effective. Maybe that’s why they are complaining. But I guess the Left would think differently if it was an ad portraying McCain in a wheel chair and paralyzed? Or something really funny like dealing the race card from the bottom of the deck.

So much for John McCain being old, tired and stuffy. The latest John McCain political ad is edgy and sarcastic. It portrays Obama in exactly the light that he has been presenting himself and the ridiculous manner in which Democrats and the media have been fawning over him as if he was really the Obamamessiah.

This ad one is not only effective, it is funny. No wonder the Obama, his campaign and the Left are up in arms crying foul. Barack Obama as the chosen “One”. Any time one can use a Charlton Heston reference to Moses parting the Red Sea in a parody of Barack Obama’s actual words, you have a winner … “this was the moment when the rise of the ocean began to slow and our planet began to heal”.  Why is it that it is OK for Obama to give speeches as if he was preaching from a pulpit and referencing divine intervention, but when he is called on it for the ridiculousness of its folly … he gets upset?

Below are actual Barack Obama comments. He needs to get over himself.

“We are the ones that we’ve been waiting for”

“I have become a symbol of America returning to our best traditions”

“A light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany and you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack”

Of course the reaction from the naive, not ready for prime time, complain about everything Obama camp is to whine some more and call it, ‘sad…juvenile antics.’ What hasn’t Obama and his complained about and stated are topics that are off limits. Is this yet another one? But I guess playing the race card is considered OK from Obama and his political team.

the chosen one has spoken on offshore drilling. he says the u.s. can save as much oil by putting air in our tires and having tuneups and we can get from offshore drilling. l0 to 1 odds this pronouncement is the next one his obamaites will be out in force explaining “what he really meant”.

If you take the issue of race and color away … Obama is nothing more than Al Gore and John Kerry. Liberals who have no core beliefs but will say and do anything to get elected.

Suddenly Obama is saying he will consider drilling. Gee I wonder why? Could it be he saw the CNN poll #’s that stated 70% of people were in favor. That 70% can’t be all Republicans.

I must say that this ad is hysterical!!!

All this is going to do is excite both sides. Obama voters will not see the humor and be made stronger and McCains side will be confirmed in their beliefs. I Don’t think that this will change anybodys mind. It would be best to stick to the issues and keep personal attacks out of it. Too many real issues at hand, we don’t need a circus sideshow. I hope Obamas camp will take the high road and not escalate this. You can be sure that Obama could easily make McCain look to be the jerk in all of this.

A little humor in politics never hurt anyone. Obama needs to stop speaking as if he is an Evangelist if he is going to have such thin skin.

McCain discusses the issues as well. After all it appears he now has Barack in a corner on drilling. The uber left is going to go mental that Obama has flip-flopped on drilling Mother earth.

Obama will now be accused of poll watching. Will Obama now demand that Nancy Pelosi and the HOR debate the issue?

Make no mistake about it … Obama is a weak candidate. There is no reason in this climate with GWB at a 25-30% approval rating, tough economic times, high gas prices, MSM love affair whith the chosen one and Obama’s EU tour that Obama should be tied in the polls with McCain.

Long before Obama ever was annoited by the MSM … McCain was the middle of the road people’s choice.

#5 the only reason Barack Obama and his campaign don’t like the last two McCain ads is because it parrots back their own words and symbolism and yes, it reveals just how foolish they are. It’s not a personal attack ad – the ads attack the very things Obama’s campaign has been trying to get the American people to believe – that Obama is somehow “chosen” in a religious sort of way and that Obama is a huge celebrity because he can attract huge crowds – but then so can some other celebrities – but they are empty air heads.

i’d like to stay and read for awhile, but i have to get the tires aired up and get a tune-up to save up my part of the 700 million dollars worth of middle east oil that congressmen and pelosi and reid are going to need to run their govt. paid for airliners and suvs during their vacations. bush should have arranged to send pelosi back to california on a greyhound.

There is a good article on Obama’s time as law professor at http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/30/america/academic.php

It quotes a colleague as saying that “he never really stepped to the plate” to say what he really believed. How apt. This guy is a true b.s. artist. The Democrats have done it again. He’s not the next Jack Kennedy. He is the next George McGovern. McCain will trounce this fool.

    12. Katablog.com on August 2nd, 2008 7:46 pm

#11: I don’t know about McCain trouncing him. McCain needs to step up to the plate and delineate exactly what Obama’s “plans” would do. The ads released this week are “cute”, got McCain notice but now we need to get down to brass tacs.

We need to show people what would happen if Obama DID tax the rich, put a wind falls profit tax on the oil companies, hand out all sorts of freebies to the “poor”, ignore Iran because its “tiny”, etc.

All theses things are pretty hard to do in 10-30 second commercials and so the McCain campaign has to get on enough media shows with respected experts, showing how these things won’t do what Obama says and worse yet will ruin the American economy. But this is exactly where the media controls the American thought process.

For example, how many MSM big newspapers ran the story of Pelosi’s blackout yesterday? How many have taken the liberals to task for blaming Bush for the high gas prices? Those are the same non-existing entities that will actually give McCain sufficient time to show how Obama’s policies could easily produce the next depression and possibly an attack on America.

    13. Sandra on August 2nd, 2008 9:45 pm

McCain deserves to be put back in his bamboo cage at the Hanoi Hilton and set out in the jungle to rot. That’s were he belongs. That reflects the depth of his betrayal for embracing human garbage like Karl Rove, Rick Davis, and Steve Schmidt. It will not win him the presidency, only a permanent place in the gallery of American rouges and misfits.

    14. Scarrlett on August 3rd, 2008 5:20 am

They better be careful with that ad.
The kind of young folks in favor of this self-appointed savior DO NOT have the capacity to think through a lot of the sarcastic stuff and may love this ad and NOT get the ending. This new generation{all colors} is so self absorbed that the cheering and hype of that ad will suck them in and their mind will only hear that. JMO
