Eve Marie Carson at University of North Carolina & Lauren Burk of Auburn Murdered

What is going on in our college campuses? In both senseless murders, did the victims know their murderer? First, 18-year-old Auburn University freshman Lauren A. Burk of Marietta, GA was murdered on Tuesday night near campus. Lauren Burk was fatally shot with a single gunshot to her head where she later died that night after being taken to the hospital. Police say that they have many good leads; however, are being tight lipped beyond that. From the Auburn University web site

First, let me express my deep condolences to Lauren’s family and our friends in her Georgia community. Many of you have shared your heartfelt prayers for their strength through this ordeal. To Lauren’s sorority sisters, we pray for you who were extended sisters to her. Lauren will remain special in our memory, and so many of you are already working on ways to commemorate her.

Bad Timing for Barack Obama … Tony Rezko Trial Starts … Change? Looks Like Political Business As Usual

The Obama momentum may be coming to a quick end …

The timing of the start of the Tony Rezco felony trial, a once a top fund-raiser for Sen. Barack Obama, could not be any worse for the Democratic candidate of “Change and Hope”. After months and months of the media asking little no no tough questions of Barack Obama, no gloves may be ready to come off. Prompted by the Clinton campaign, Barack Obama is about to get a lesson in what it means to be vetted. Obama’s Rezko ties hardly seem like a political change … looks to be political business as usual.

In politics, perception is everything … Barack best answers the questions.

Sen. Obama hasn’t been accused of any wrongdoing in the case. But in recent days, the campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton, his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, has leveraged the opening of the trial to spotlight Sen. Obama’s ties to Mr. Rezko.

Sen. Obama has acknowledged his ties to Mr. Rezko. During a news conference Monday, he rejected the idea that “we have been trying to hide the bone on this.”

Rezko In Debt $50 Million; How Did He Afford Obama Lot?

Accused Illinois fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko is in debt by $50 million and relies on “family” handouts of $7,500 a month to pay monthly costs, according to a previously sealed court transcript reviewed by ABC News.

Aruba Cooperating with American, Dutch, Antillean Governments on Drugs … What About Missing People and Crimes Against Tourists?

Another war on drug report from Aruba and One Happy Island and its continued drug smuggling and its related money laundering practices and criminal violence. Why is it that Aruba will supposedly cooperate with American, Dutch and Antillean governments when it comes to the “war of drugs” and money laundering but not when it comes to missing persons and crimes against tourists like in the case of Natalee Holloway?

According to American justice, drug smuggling and its related money laundering practices and criminal violence continue to be a threat for Aruba and the Neth.Antilles.

Extending the Judicial cooperation between the American, Dutch, Antillean, and Aruban governments can contribute to lowering that threat on the islands and also to a broader joint fight against the drug criminality in the Caribbean.

Aruba more and more important as transshipment location for drugs (Amigoe: 3/5/08)

A huge amount of cocaine was intercepted on sea in February of 2007.  One huge catch can influence the statistics, but is not necessarily an indication for a certain tendency.

ORANJESTAD – Aruba functions to an increasing extent as a transshipment location for drugs that find their way via airplane or cruise ship to the United States and to a smaller extent, to Europe, states the International Narcotics Control Strategy Report for 2007 of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the American State Department that was published last Saturday.

Bicycle Bomb Attack at NYC Time Square Military Recruiting Station

A bomb went off this morning at a military recruiting station in Time Square in New York City. No injuries have been reported and no suspects. Further proof that there are nuts every where and that people must continue to be vigilant. With all the cameras in the Time Square area, it would be impossible for the person who committed this crime not to have been seen.

Police blocked off the area to investigate the explosion, which occurred at about 3:45 a.m., shattering the station’s glass entryway. No one was injured.
