Hey Al Gore … Its not easy being Green. Could All Gore get sued for fraud 
by former Weather Channel founder? Wouldn’t this be an interesting way to get a legitimate dialog going on “global warming” without just having to hear one sides version. Far be it that fluctuations in in the earth’s temperature be naturally occurring.
So what say you Al Gore? So is the fact that the temperature decreased also an effect of global warming? The average temperature across both the contiguous U.S. and the globe during climatological winter (December 2007-February 2008) was the coolest since 2001, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center.
In the contiguous United States, the average winter temperature was 33.2°F (0.6°C), which was 0.2°F (0.1°C) above the 20th century average – yet still ranks as the coolest since 2001. It was the 54th coolest winter since national records began in 1895.
The combined global land and ocean surface temperature was the 16th warmest on record for the December 2007-February 2008 period (0.58°F/0.32°C above the 20th century mean of 53.8°F/12.1°C). The presence of a moderate-to-strong La Niña contributed to an average temperature that was the coolest since the La Niña episode of 2000-2001.
Weather Channel founder, John Coleman, wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, hoping a legal debate will settle the global-warming debate once and for all.
John Coleman, who founded the cable network in 1982, suggests
suing for fraud proponents of global warming, including Al Gore, and companies that sell carbon credits.
“Is he committing financial fraud? That is the question,” Coleman said.
“Since we can’t get a debate, I thought perhaps if we had a legal challenge and went into a court of law, where it was our scientists and their scientists, and all the legal proceedings with the discovery and all their documents from both sides and scientific testimony from both sides, we could finally get a good solid debate on the issue,” Coleman said. “I’m confident that the advocates of ‘no significant effect from carbon dioxide’ would win the case.”

One of the problems for us non-scientists in trying to balance the conflicting claims is that there are ordinary weather cycles that last for hundreds of years. Most of us don’t live that long anyway, so we can’t really cite firsthand experience in deciding whether we are in another passing cycle or in a period of real change.
I’m reminded of an adage from an economics textbook. The difference between a recession and a depression is, among other things, the length and the severity of the downturn, and different policies should be used for each.
Well, guess what? A recession doesn’t carry a sign saying “I’m only temporary” … the truth is clear only in retrospect.
I do know one thing (that’s about it) … there were a lot of ‘scare’ headlines in the late 1940s saying that the Earth was entering a new ice age.
Ok just my thoughts. The papers lead the sheep into whatever their agenda is. Sorry Americans are so dumbed down they can not think. On the subjest of recessions, if the papers never reported it Americans would not get scared but they trumpet it every night and the sheep believe it. If the media said today the economy is booming the people would be out spending and enjoying life. I hate election years same shit every four years

We have had on of the coldest winters here in New Zealand for a long time. We are a lot closer to the south pole than Al gore and his band of patriots, Global warming is a scam. Our government just spent 2 billion buying useless carbon credits. This comes after during world wide ressession and after NOAA published results proving the entire earth is cooling. Nice one.
Some things are fairly easy to recognize. If you look at the ice core records, you can see a pattern involving estimated global temperature, measured CO2 content and atmospheric particulate counts. (presumably volcanic, however see below.)
CO2 levels and estimated or calculated temps correlate well. but I would like to see what goes into determining those temps. Thickness of an ‘annual’ layer?
Some 20-25k years ago something put a lot of dust in the air. I would like to know what. The last super volcano eruption we have evidence for happened ~73k years ago, and the ice core records show that it had a ‘blip’ of an effect. So what threw all the dust in the air 20-25k years ago?
Unlike the end of previous ice ages, the temp seems stable for the past 10-15k years. Previous ice age ends involved about 2k years or less of ‘high’ temps, followed by a fairly steady drop in temps. While I will accept that humans have almost doubled the CO2 levels over the past 300 years, I do have a hard time believing that the pace of human development over the past 10,000 years has had a near perfect stabilizing effect on CO2 levels and global temps. Are there any other things on the planet that have had that kind of a stabilizing effect, and if so are those forces also at work now?
Yes, we are probably the cause of the sudden jump in CO2 levels over the past few centuries, How many years was the carboniferous era converting atmospheric CO2 into what became the fields of coal and oil resources that we are rapidly depleting? We seem to be putting a whole lot of that stuff back where plants extracted it from.
God controls the weather and NO ONE ELSE. Who cares anyway….after Obama and those other nitwits pass the healthcare reform, we’re sunk anyway, warm or cold!!!
