In Willemstad, Curocao the public prosecutor (OM) believes that suspects of felonies like murder and rape should not be walking the street. The citizens and innocent people walking the streets should not be put in harms way. So why does the public prosecutor in Aruba not feel the same? Why is it not only okay to let suspects walk the street, but also to let them go altogether and close the case even though they believe the suspects played a part in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Why isn’t the prosecutor in Aruba doing what their job description most certainly states, prosecuting criminals? Not just violent crimes … any crime that a suspected individual has committed. Instead in Aruba, they seem to only prosecute those crimes that those in power give them the okay to. Those suspected of crimes who are people of privilege or are associates of those in power are turned loose under the guise of not enough evidence. However, maybe there would have been enough evidence if investigators had actually properly investigated a crime instead of attempting to covering it up from the start.

The OM has no control over the number of available (police) cells. It’s the elected Parliament–members that decide on the budget for justice and the priorities. “Parliament discussed the increase of the punishment for car-robberies recently, but as long as no budget is allocated for decent cell-space that meets international standard, the discussion remains informal”, said the OM. And this is despite being creative in minimizing the use of cell-capacity by not locking up drug couriers, but instead ban them from travel.
Sulvaran didn’t only mention the situation of the police-cells. He specially lashed out against according to him, the high-handedness that seems to exist when the examining magistrate decides on the custody of suspects. He says that there is no critical thorough dossier investigation preceding the ‘stamp-sessions’ that take place every Tuesday in prison, while the case-prosecutor sends an ‘ignorant’ colleague to be present. It seems that the custody has already been decided in advance, concludes Sulvaran.
The OM mentions in its written reaction that “the prosecution of suspects is explicitly reserved for an objective and professional instance to avoid political prosecution for example, like the ones that took place in the former Soviet-Union. Basic assumption is that everybody is innocent until proven guilty and sentenced in the court of law.”
During the custody, for which the OM takes the initiative and the judge checks whether it is correct, ‘the suspect is represented by his lawyer and he can appeal that custody’. “The OM is required to follow the judge’s custody order. Immediately after he has been arrested, the suspect is put in a police-cell, but according to the Criminal Code, after a maximum of 10 days in custody and if the judge orders detention after that, he/she must be locked up in a House of Detention.

Actually Aruban officials KNOW who committed the crimes against Natalee. Remember, they had a confession that they can’t use. They also appear to have at least some evidence (email messages?, computer forensics?, cell phone triangulations?) that should give them very strong circumstantial evidence (plus of course 22 stories, “no body, no case”). So IMHO they KNOW, they simply can’t PROVE in a court of law with a judge who is Paulus’ friend.

The search team deploy a Marine Magnetics SeaSpy ‘Overhauser’ magnetometer to aid in the search. The magnetometer will tow behind the boat approximately 20ft off bottom and detect iron-bearing debris or targets. The mag will be used in conjunction with the side scan sonar.
People should be protected from acts of terrorism that are taking place in the Caribbean.
Is Natalee’s truth getting a little too close for somebody’s comfort?
Natalee Holloway was targeted for gang rape, kidnapping, and all the hideous acts inflicted upon her – because she was innocent, because she was an innocent tourist American, visiting Aruba.

Predatory men posing as tourists at HOTELS and other tourist attractions, where tourists were lured into gathering, attractions promoted for the island night life, and this being done with the full cooperation and knowledge of Aruba’s police as well as individuals from the tourism sector on the island.
This is no secret! Jacobs warned Dave, Natalee’s father to “watch his drink”, and spoke of drinks being drugged!
A tourism employee spoke of knowledge of Joran Van der Sloots predatory conduct, and another leader in the Aruba’s tourism industry admitted that a cover up took place!
What more proof do we need given the egregious efforts that were then implemented to cover up the hideous criminal acts of human rights violations inflicted upon Natalee Holloway!
Predatory men posing as tourists who targeted a little defenseless girl, drugged her, so that they could then proceed to do all the wretched evil contemptuous acts they inflicted upon her while she was drugged and completely helpless.
They even included a parent – a man dressed to be a “father” posing with his son at a tourist attraction right at Natalee’s hotel, claiming to be tourists, lying to Natalee and her friends, so as to create a very false sense of safety and security.
And they lied to this child, telling her they were fellow tourists, just like she was, and staying at her Holiday Inn hotel, only Natalee had no idea that they were selecting her for their hideous criminal acts – which, I believe it was Deepak who referenced the successful plot as “hitting the jackpot”.

Why was Joran so concerned that news about the “jackpot” they had hit was broadcast all over the phones that he knew were being tapped?

Not to undermine these remarks from Curacao … but that is the island where, in March 1998, Amy Bradley vanished. She was kidnapped from the cruise ship on which she and her family were traveling, just one day after it docked in Aruba and crew members wanted to take her to … you guessed it … Carlos ‘n’ Charlies.
There is very good reason to think that she is still alive, perhaps on Curacao, and in a situation of duress.

Joran or 2K have children: How nice for them to go on with their lives when Natalee’s was snatched from her. What might it have been like for her to marry, and have children?
Anita becomes a grandmother, something that is denied to Natalee’s mom forever.
This case will haunt them at every turn, every day of their sorry lives. The news will continue to follow them as Joran says himself, “He has better thngs to do than think about this case.” REALLY?

One of the suspects wrote in an Internet chat session that Natalee was dead, according to this Associated Press story, just out from Aruba.
It also says Beth is considering appealing the prosecutor’s decision to close the case.
ORANJESTAD, Aruba – One of three top suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway wrote during an Internet chat session that the teenager was dead, Aruba’s chief prosecutor said Thursday.
Prosecutor Hans Mos refused to identify the person who wrote the message but said its discovery had contributed to the decision to re-arrest Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe last month.
The men were subsequently released after they refused to speak to authorities about newly uncovered evidence. The Aruba Public Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday it will not charge the three.
Mos said their re-arrests had been warranted by the circumstantial evidence, including statements from witnesses who said the three behaved strangely in the hours after Holloway vanished at age 18 on May 30, 2005 during an Aruba vacation with her Alabama high school graduating class.
Ronald Wix, an attorney for the Kalpoe brothers, denied that prosecutors had new evidence.
“All they did was recycle old evidence and claim it was new evidence,” Wix told The Associated Press, adding that his clients felt vindicated by the prosecutor’s decision to drop the case.
“Unless he finds a body in the bathroom of one of these kids, there’s no way in hell they can arrest them anymore.” Wix said.
Mos refused to reveal details of other evidence that he said was gathered through new investigative techniques and a listening device planted in one of the suspects’ homes. Mos said van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers remain “the primary three persons of interest.”
“Any and all leads and new evidence will be investigated,” Mos told reporters.
The three men were seen leaving a bar with Holloway hours before she was due to board a flight home to Mountain Brook, Ala. Van der Sloot, who now attends college in the Netherlands, said he left Holloway alone on a beach that night. He and the Kalpoe brothers have denied any wrongdoing.
The Aruban prosecutors say they cannot prove a crime was committed because her body was never recovered. They have said they focused on cell phone calls and text messages between the suspects.
On Wednesday, Holloway’s family blamed mistakes by Aruban investigators for bringing the case to a dead end after more than two years of searching.
Holloway’s stepfather, Jug Twitty, said he believes witnesses in the Dutch Caribbean island know what happened but are not coming forward, and he criticized prosecutors’ decision to dismiss the case against the only known suspects.
“It’s also I think a sad day for the Aruban people because the officials there are inept,” Twitty told the AP in a telephone interview from Birmingham, Ala. Natalee’s mother, Beth Twitty, referred a reporter’s questions about the handling of the case to Jug Twitty.
Jug Twitty said Holloway’s mother was considering appealing the prosecutor’s decision and hoped a new search by a Texas-based private group in the waters off Aruba might find Holloway’s body.
“I can’t say we’re optimistic,” said Twitty, who recently divorced Beth Twitty.
He said police botched the investigation from the start by waiting nine days to arrest the three suspects, giving them “plenty of time to cover their tracks.”
“There are also people I believe that know what happened but won’t say anything because they have to live on that island,” he said.
Complaints the last two years about the handling of the investigation prompted calls for a tourism boycott by officials in the United States, including Alabama Gov. Bob Riley.
“We’ll be glad when it’s out of the media … We’ve suffered enough,” said John Herbert, a receptionist at the Arubiana Inn on the island of white sand beaches off the coast of Venezuela.

I think Joran confessed along time ago. But, because of way it was handled, being under 18 and no lawyer present, it got dismissed..

The OM failed to produce enough evidence on time to the Judge Commissioners’ assessment. A judge is a completely different character. What’s left now is the statute of limitaions for murder (12 years) and manslaughter (6 years). Ah well Nobody will open up untill then.
