Four People Have been Arrested in Connection with Washington Redskin Safety Sean Taylor’s Murder
“They didn’t think he’d be home”
Four men from the Fort Myers, FL area in connection have been arrested in connection with the murder of Sean Taylor. The of the individuals had a very close connection to the deceased Sean Taylor. What another senseless killing. What a grim reminder that football is just a game.
Two of the four men may have had a very close connection to Taylor. The Miami Herald reported earlier in the day that Jason Mitchell, 19, had attended a party at the Palmetto Bay home several weeks ago to celebrate the 21st birthday of Taylor’s sister, Sasha Johnson, and that he had mowed the lawn and done other chore-type work at the residence. The paper also reported that Charles Wardlow, 18, is the brother of Christopher Devon Wardlow, who dates Johnson.
The other two men arrested were Eric Rivera Jr., 17, and Venjah Hunte, 20. Police said there could be more arrests, but they are certain they have the gunman in custody. Parker said more than one of the men had confessed but would not discuss the details of those confessions.
(News Day)
Police had originally stated that the murder was a random act of violence, even though Taylor’s friends stated that it was not. It turns out that Sean Taylor’s home was targeted; however, it would appear that murder was not their intention. That point is moot as an attempted robbery turned horribly wrong as Washington Redskin safety Sean Taylor is dead and Family, friends and the NFL mourn him.
Police had called the case a “random” act earlier in the week, a description Taylor’s family and friends rejected. But Parker said Friday night that the men indeed specifically targeted Taylor’s house, although he believes their intent was not murder.
“It’s very clear that they were not targeting the individual,” Parker clarified. “They were expecting a residence that was not occupied.”

If they were expecting an empty house, an easy burlgary, why would they have guns?
good question
This isn’t adding up to me. First the gun question. Then, they find out the empty house isn’t empty and instead of booking, they kick in the door and shoot? I’m not buying this.
Well if it was a theft gone wrong it is a very sad sad situation.
