      Beth,

What is the best way we can help you at this time?

    2. Miss-Underestimated on October 15th, 2007 11:19 am

I was at her book signing in Chicago. As I left I realized I wanted to ask her, if she had an opportunity to see any time line for Paulus the night Natalee was missing? How was she able to be so calm when she met with Anita and Paulus?

    3. msmarple on October 15th, 2007 12:21 pm

Beth – Will you discuss the “telephone call(s)” that keep getting mentioned on this forum? Specifically, there were reports or rumors that these snippets of conversation existed:

“I don’t know these people” (female voice)
“Are you calling home?” (male voice)

Supposedly this was heard on the phone call that was on William’s voice mail, and that Charles Croes listened to that night y’all landed.

(I know you have been asked about this before, but old rumors die hard … )

Thank you for the book; I see it is No. 34 on the NYT list for the week ending Oct. 6. (I asked several questions at the Atlanta signing 10/04.)

    4. Richard on October 15th, 2007 12:44 pm

Don’t ever relent, Beth. We never will.

      Question to Beth,

Will the book come out in Holland as well? In Dutch?

    6. Anna on October 15th, 2007 2:54 pm

Beth, I found your book wonderfully inspiring for all of us facing adversity in our lives.

You discuss your confrontation with Theodore Vadir van Loon in the book and good for you. I notice that there is no mention of Lorenzo van Rijn. Was Lorenzo just another victim of the Aruban Rumor Mill and not related to Joran nor involved in any way with Natalee’s disappearance or do you feel that he is in some way. Never having seen any valid connection I wonder if he is to deflect from the main suspects or do you think he played some role in whatever happened to Natalee?

      Thank you,

      Anna

    7. Anna on October 15th, 2007 2:58 pm

Do you know if Peter deVries is still following this case and if he might have another program on it at any time in the future?

    8. Meee on October 15th, 2007 3:17 pm

Right now the Globe magazine has an article about the water search. Will only be on the newsstands today. Maybe tommorrow. I guess it’s last weeks Globe

    9. Carpe Noctem on October 15th, 2007 3:34 pm

      Beth,

After all this, I feel Natalee was part my child
too. She never should have been mistreated in
such ways. It makes me ill to think about it.
Natalee was about as GOOD as God makes ‘em.
A real sweetheart. We love her a bunch,
      and her family too!

      ….

      QUESTION-

If you had a MAGICAL LEGAL WAND that you could

wave, who would be sitting in jail right now,

      and why?

    10. Patriot on October 15th, 2007 3:39 pm

Beth, have you spoken to Tim Miller and what’s the latest about him going to Aruba for another water search?

    11. brie on October 15th, 2007 5:14 pm

Beth do you think the FBI is correct in their synopsis of the case? Joran and Deepak responsible for her death via date-rape drug and buried her at sea. God Bless You!

    12. brie on October 15th, 2007 5:27 pm

Also what to you think about the ALE avoiding Paulus’s timeline and his withdrawal at the ATM machine, actually there may have been several.

    13. brie on October 15th, 2007 6:12 pm

#2….I think the reason Beth tried to stay calm is because she was so intense on finding out what happened to Natalee. She sat across the table from the two meanest people in the world protecting their son and Anita at her worst describing, in detail, the sexual activity of her daughter and Joran. Anita knows Beth was a virgin, and this was a quest for her son, the delicious sporter. Doesn’t it all make you sick! I’m sure Beth said a lot of things under her breath! And I would expect her too! The whole family is sexually sick!!!!

Anita describes this sexual activity and Natalee’s under garments…Natalee was in no way approval of anything like this..Joran said she in and out consciousness…and Anita gives her approval!!!

    14. brie on October 15th, 2007 6:37 pm

And somewhere along the line you’ll find the criminal Posner, who has no legal right to be on the island, involved. Why doesn’t the Dutch do something about his illegal right to be there. He gave Joran a line of credit at the casino and the rights to be a guest at the Holiday Inn, that’s why he is at pool and probably has a room a the Holiday Inn. Posner and Paulus, what a team. Crime via Posner, cover-up Paulus. Paulus knows his son isn’t innocent but he has gotten help to protect and cover-up. I hope the Dutch do their justice in solving this case. We know too much. Most of it exposed by the actions of Joran. Fok der Bitch….Daddy and Straaten will handle this…I’m a psychopath and everyone protects me…I know how my Dad thinks and I will always be allowed to do what I want…I’m Mom’s delicious sporter and I’m an ordinary boy….is it ordinary to kidnap, rape and murder a girl….!!!!!! Your people SUCK!

    15. Allan K on October 15th, 2007 6:46 pm

Could you divulge any info on why Bacchus sent the FBI and have you heard of him receiving monetary contributions from Aruba?

Do you know why Mr. Pink left the island at the time of Natalee’s disappearance or your thoughts on this?

In my mind Natalee is not dead without the body. I am fearful that she could be in some awful place and if you ever had those thoughts you are not alone.

What of the lowlife Van Stratten that has seen the evidence. What evidence?

    16. Klaasend on October 15th, 2007 6:47 pm

Some questions for Beth posted in the other area:

What does Beth think is Freddy’s involvement in Natalee’s disappearance?

What does Beth think the phrase “Your own father!” mean as uttered by Deepak in the van conversations? Is it an indication of a much deeper involvement by Paulus other than just covering for Joran?

What is the main reason that Beth thinks Natalee was at the van der Sloot house?

Does Beth think Lorenzo had anything to do with this case? Supplying drugs? Hosting a party attended by Natalee? Body disposal?

Is there anyone involved in the investigation of Natalee’s disappearance, at this time, that Beth has any confidence in at all, such as the KLPD?

      1. Are there names of people involved in what happened to Natalee that we have not heard of yet?

      2. Do you know if Anita returned home from Holland with anyone else in her family?

      3. Is there any other information that you intentionally left out of your book that would shock the world.

      Thank you.

    17. brie on October 15th, 2007 7:10 pm

Joran and his pimp club take a second seat in knowing what’s going on..their allowed this behavior because of a larger basis of what IS going on…it’s all related to Posner…and I do believe their is abduction involved. His history only supports this! Natalee may be buried in the sea or not!!!!! Why is he not being investigated. This apparently all began when he entered the island. Everyone knows he is illegal but say nothing because they have jobs!!! Why does an innocent life have to be dissolved because of criminals!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    18. Dana on October 15th, 2007 7:13 pm

Folks please remember that the interview will be approx 25 minutes, I will try to get to as many questions as I can as they relate to the book. But the time will go by very fast.

      Dana

    19. LilPuma on October 15th, 2007 7:13 pm

There are many stories in Beth’s book about kind-hearted Arubans who helped her and prayer services that were held daily during her stay on the island. Is there anyone in Aruba whom she got close to and kept in touch with?

    20. dennisintn on October 15th, 2007 8:22 pm

lilpuma, it might not be safe for the people beth might mention as being friends with. i would hate for the people to be attacked along with natalee, beth, their family and jossy. and they probably don’t have the resources to fight back like jossy.

    21. brie on October 15th, 2007 8:26 pm

I think there were Aruban’s, that tried to help and I don’t it was them that Attacked Beth for the apology..she was forced to make the statement of apology because of of ALE. Everything on that island is blamed on the victim.!!!!!!!

      Dana,
Beth is VERY popular at SM! Be sure to invite her back for all of us!

I would like to know if Beth knows who that is sitting by Natalee in the casino.

    24. Maggie on October 15th, 2007 9:56 pm

Was so great to hear Beth. Great interview.

I’ve previously posted a story on here about 20 year old ISU student Scott Javins, who had been missing for 5 years. His car and skeletal remains were found in the Wabash River this past weekend, due to a tip that was called in. His parents were on Nancy Grace’s show, America’s Most Wanted and I think Greta’s show asking for tips. They worked so hard to keep Scott’s story in the news. They didn’t have to fight the police or the cruelty Beth and Dave has though. Beth and Dave are doing the right thing, Keeping Natalee’s name in the news and they’ve done an excellent job of it.

This comes from Scott Javin’s parents. Scott was the love of their lives.

“We were hoping it wouldn’t come out this way,” Merv said. “We wanted to see Scott come through that door someday and say, ‘Hey, Mom, Dad, I’m home,’ but I think we kinda knew as time went by that wasn’t going to happen.”

“But we held on to hope,” he added.

Scott’s face has become a familiar one in the community of Terre Haute, where fliers, banners and billboards have gone up – and stayed up – for more than five years. His parents, driven by their love and fear for their son, have kept Scott’s picture in the media, followed numerous false tips and maintained an annual vigil on the south side of City Hall where they had a Ribbon of Hope memorial erected as a symbol for missing persons and their families. That vigil, the couple says, will continue.

Doreena and Merv, both of whom work full time, have dedicated much of their free time to efforts at improving law enforcement’s handling of missing adult cases.

Both of them volunteer time to IN HOPE, a statewide volunteer organization committed to providing resources to families searching for missing adults, and Merv serves as vice chairman of the executive board.

When asked whether they intend to continue their work with IN HOPE now that their son’s fate is known, Merv answered, “Absolutely.”

“I would love to see the local media, news stations, newspapers devote a section to missing persons, a small column, run a picture with phone numbers and a little bit of information about these cases .,” he said.

Doreena chimed in, “Keeping it in the news, keeping the story alive and fresh and keeping people talking . I think that played a big role in solving this.”

She said she would offer that same advice to families who still have someone missing.

“Keep it out there, keep their name out in the news,” she said. “You have to.”

    25. Miss-Underestimated on October 16th, 2007 8:46 am

      Maggie

Thanks for the story. I think you hit the nail on the head as far as Beth finding Natalee.

“They didn’t have to fight the police or the cruelty Beth and Dave has though. Beth and Dave are doing the right thing, Keeping Natalee’s name in the news and they’ve done an excellent job of it.”

The battle of finding your missing love on and those responsible are one thing. But when you have to fight the very people who are responsible for helping you find answers, well, that just slaps the face of justice.

Aruba, when are you going to take responsibility for helping Beth and Dave Holloway find out what happened to Natalee, are you going to wait for another book to come out revealing the evidence? This story is not going away Aruba, the price your island will pay will be heavy.

I know this is logic 101, but I keep thinking about what Dompig said when he took over the investigation. “In the first 48 hours you will interview the perpetrator or perpetrators.” (That may not be verbatim, but close enough—agreed?)

And—did he? Did he interview the perpetrators? Answer—you bet your sweet Cushman Silver Eagle motor scooter (Powder Blue) he did.

And what happen next? Answer—He arrested them. All of them with the exception of one (his son) and two that fled. One fled t to Georgia, and one to the Netherlands. Seems their fathers knew it all and would not allow an interview or an arrest (this can happen when you have money in abundance).

      Time served!
