What has this world come to? The body of six year old Hannah Mack was found hung in the garage of her families rural 
Navarro Hills, TX home. Hannah Mack’s autopsy also been determined that the six year old had been sexually assaulted. These crimes against children have become so heinous there are just no words to describe them. We are speechless. The motivation to sexual assault a six year old and then hang her defies all sense of morality.
Authorities have made no arrests or named any suspects since Hannah Mack’s body was discovered by her mother on Monday. They are saying little about their investigation. “I will confirm that the hanging and sexual assault were part of this scenario,” Navarro County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mike Cox said. Cox said several people have been interviewed and no one has been ruled out as a suspect.
There have been no arrests nor suspects named by authorities; however, here is an interesting comment. They have asked “caseworkers not to say whether Hannah’s family had been investigated by child welfare officers”. This makes one wonder whether there had been previous investigations into this child’s social welfare.
Police asked state caseworkers to not say whether the girl’s family had been investigated by child welfare officers, said Marissa Gonzales, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. She characterized the request as uncommon.
Hannah Mack was reportedly last seen sleeping on the couch at 1am by her great grandmother.
Jean Langford, the girl’s great-grandmother, said Dana Mack saw the youngest of her three daughters sleeping on the couch around 1 a.m. before discovering Hannah’s body. She said the family hoped police would be further along in finding the suspect. “(Dana) is just devastated. We all are,” Langford said. “This is the worst thing that’s ever happened to this family. Hannah was our pride and joy. She was our little sweetheart. “What makes this so bad is that we still don’t know who did this awful thing.” Those concerns are shared by the family’s neighbors near Navarro Mills Lake, about 65 miles south of Dallas. They say imaginations in this lakeside community are starting to run wild. Neighbor Pam Gray said she heard Dana Mack screaming early Monday while she went outside to feed her pigs. She and other neighbors said Mack drove about a quarter-mile to the nearby store where she worked after discovering Hannah’s body, pleading for help. (Houston Chronicle)

Kevin Anders, the live in boyfriend of Dana Mack, the mother of murdered and sexually assaulted Hannah Mack has been arrested. Anders was arrested on possession of child porn. I guess its not too much of a stretch to figure out what happened here. Kevin Anders was originally listed as a person of interest. Why are we not surprised?
“Computer files obtained during the initial crime scene investigation revealed the presence of pornographic images of children,” said Mike Cox, Navarro County sheriff’s chief deputy.
Mr. Anders is a suspect in the death of Hanna Mack, whose body was discovered by her mother, Dana Mack, on Monday. (Dallas News)

God bless this little girl … and if they find, try and convict the perpetrators, please hang them. They deserve worse, but this is the best that we can hope for.
OMG authorities need to take a long hard look at juveniles in the vicinity of the crime IMO. This is either the act of a “loosely organized” person or an inexperienced deviant to perform such an act in a residential setting such as someones garage and make no effort to conceal what they have done. On the contrary they have left what they have done to be found by the childs family. This pervert will be caught.

A truly horrific story. The total lack of respect for an other persons integrity and life..; and a 6 year old child?! How frightened she must have been.
When are we going to take and absolute no tolerance stand against these pedophiles? I am sure there is a history of sexual abuse in the boyfriends past, there normally is. I am so sick of “protecting” the rights of these sickos! We should be only protecting the rights of their victims! When do we finally get it?

My heart goes out to the mother of this child. This was not her fault. People will make you believe that they are a certain type of person all the while plotting to do you harm.
She is not at fault and we all need to pray for her in her time of need.
While I certainly have a lot of sympathy for the mother, I have to agree with the other posters about mothers and boyfriends. I haven’t been in the situation (i.e. single/divorced with children), but I definitely think this is a no brainer-the safety of the children always comes first. Wouldn’t you rather be alone raising your children than living with the fact that some of your bad choices resulted in the horrific murder or assault of your child?
I know it must be difficult to have relationships in this day and age, but I also know I wouldn’t hesitate to 1) Put my child first and 2) At least do a private background check on someone I’m considering allowing to move into my home.
This is just so, so sad and I know that this mom will pay the rest of her life for her choices.
Just another note…the arrest was for possession of child pornography found on a computer seized from the home (with the boyfriend’s “name” on the file). It’s not difficult to find out who is looking at what on a computer. Also, with the police asking child protective services (or whatever it’s called in Texas) to not say if the family had been previously investigated or not, it looks to me like there were some kind of warning signs other than a red light and bell ringing on the computer saying “pervert watch”!!
I think prison should be so absolutely horrid for these criminals that they’d think again before committing the crime, if they don’t get the death penalty than live in pure HELL for the rest of their life…you can’t rehab them…no one wants them back in society…who wants to feed their sorry asses….I think we are way to easy on those that perform the acts of abusing, molesting and killing our children…feed ‘em to the hungry lions…I know that is not civilized…but neither or they!

It sounds like a horrific question, and it is … but we know from the West Virginia torture case that a mother and daughter were in the group. Nothing seems to be beyond belief.

That’s a good point. How many times have we heard horror stories about mothers who ignore the sexual molestation of their daughters? I don’t know what the case was here, but most mothers would have a hunch that something was going on. Perhaps she felt “safer” in public view on the couch than she did in her bed.

We cannot judge this case without facts. Do we know if this mother knew? Does this man have a history? How long were they together?

An arrest report released Thursday in connection with the child pornography charge says that Mr. Anders most recently worked as a convenience store clerk and is still married.
Mr. Anders also was convicted in 2005 on a misdemeanor charge of driving with an invalid license. He was sentenced to one month plus 15 days in jail and fined $500, according to Texas Department of Public Safety records.

Another neighbor, Patricia Partney, said word had recently spread about a public fight between the couple at a nearby Dawson carwash. Details of that altercation were unknown.
Ms. Mack discovered her daughter missing Monday morning at a time when she should have been awake and getting ready for school. The crime has shocked the small community of Navarro Mills, about 15 miles from Corsicana near the banks of Navarro Mills Lake.”
Okay, he had a past. If the mother knew about this past, she is responsible.

You know, the first time I heard anything about this story was the other night. I thought to myself, the little girl didn’t scream, no one heard her leave, it had to be someone they knew. Come to find out it is the sick ass boyfriend of the mom. A friend of mine said they should arrest the mother, first of all for being with a man that has that type of history. She has 3 daughters. What is she doing, pimping them? I am studying forensic psych….the mother had to know the signs!Why didn’t she check his background? I saw on another site (yahoo) Hannah had been molested before. How could Dana Mack *the mother* sit there on TV and say, “we dont know who would do such a horrible thing”, the fact is she knew exactly who it was.

I hope you remember me. You had a flea market spot in front of us. Lori and the Girls and I and all at Big Daddy’s flea market send our deepest Heart felt Sympathy. We loved Hannah! She was a very lving sweet little Girl. If you need anything come by and give us a holler. Lori and I moved out to stall #110 outside buildings.

There should be added penalties and punishment for crimes of this calibur. This man should be tortured until he cannot shed any more tears or is so horse from screaming his lungs out. After it is determined that he has been tortured enough he should have all the flesh peeled off his body and then beaten until he dies. I am sorry for the family but that does not bring sweet little hannah back. It is good knowing she is resting in the presence of the lord now. I personally would put the man responsible for this behind bars and allow special visits by 20 or so of the most hardened criminals to sexually assault this man for 10 hours straight everyday until he decides to kill himself.

Neighbor charged in hanging, sexual assault of 6-year-old Texas girl
CORSICANA, Texas (AP) — A neighbor of a 6-year-old girl who was found hanged in her family’s garage has been charged with sexual assault and capital murder, authorities said Friday.
Hanna Mack’s body was found earlier this month by her mother. Authorities said the first-grader had been sexually assaulted and hanged.
Shaun Earl Arender, 19, was linked to the crime scene by DNA evidence, Navarro County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mike Cox said Friday. Arender lived less than a mile from the little girl’s rural home, about 65 miles south of Dallas.
Arender was already in jail on unrelated burglary and drug possession charges. A DNA sample taken from the shirt Hanna was wearing was entered into a Texas Department of Public Safety DNA indexing program Wednesday, and it indicated Arender was a possible match, according to the arrest affidavit.
Arender was questioned Wednesday, and, according to the affidavit “would not give a statement, but put his head on the table and cried.”

Child pornography? Well, since people have freaked out about child pornography (and rightly so, as long as it IS pornography) many people have been arrested and charged (some convicted-some not) for simply having a picture of their own child naked in the bathtub as a baby! My ex-husband was one of them and he would never, ever touch or harm any child. He’s an ex because we were young and stupid. He cheated and I couldn’t let it go. I have NO faith in the TX justice system. The true pedophiles go free and let back into society while the innocent are jailed or punished before even getting to trial. I’m not surprised it was the neighbor. And I’m not surprised that if left to the mob, the boyfriend would already be rotting 6 feet under.
Anyway, as a single mother of three (two girls and a boy) even the suggestion or question that something may be up with ANY man has me steering clear of “boyfriends”. I have men that I date and hang around with, but my children don’t even know their names, anything about them, and have never met them…and never will. I take care of my needs for intimacy and closeness WITHOUT involving my children. I’m a better daddy than ANY strange man could be. It takes an emotional detachment, but I reserve my love for my kiddos.
Rest in peace little Hannah. My heart bleeds for you and your family. I can’t imagine the horror.
