A 50 year old Dallas man, Douglas Cook, was charged with beating his mother to death and then living with the decomposing corpse. Douglas Cook had a history of abusing his elderly mother and had been arrested in the past. What evil lurks in the hearts of some people? Despite efforts of his deceased mother to not have her son go to jail for past abuses against her, Cook was hell bent on getting there.
A 50-year-old Dallas man with a history of abusing his elderly mother lived with her decomposing corpse for about a week after allegedly beating her to death, MyFoxDallas reported Monday.
According to the report, police discovered the fatally beaten body of Nora Lee Cook, 84, in her bedroom Saturday after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from Cook’s home. The neighbors had told 911 operators that they had not seen Cook in several days, authorities said.

That is just terrible. Has the world gone crazy? We never know, anymore, what will happen.
Thank God they caught him. He’s a psycho that
reminds me of a man named Crow who lived in
Minnesota. Many of the horror movies, such as
Psycho and The Hannibal Series have been based
on his crimes. He, too, lived with the corpse
of his mother and was the first serial killer
in the U.S. He was arrestd in the 1940′s and
the scenes found at his house were so horrific
that they were not reported in police reports
as they would be today.
Wouldn’t surprise me to find that he had a hand
in other murders, as well.
Nora was a close family friend of ours and she will be greatly missed. She was a warm and loving mother who loved her friends and family with unconditional love. She lived in what I would consider to be a bad neighborhood and was always tormented with dope heads coming in her house to rob her, but all in all no matter how bad off they were or how threatening they were she offered all she had and even let them stay if they needed to sleep. There wasn’t a bad bone in this woman’s body and it breaks my heart to hear that such a tragic thing happened to her. I hope he receives the death penalty for his crimes, demented, sick or mentally unstable…. call him what you want but he’s a violent MURDERER!!! He viciously murdered his own mother in her house after she opened it up the him. She would have given him everything he needed or wanted but he killed her. This man deserves no sympathy and he deserves nothing but the worst. I shall be at his court date and I shall try everything in my power to see that this violent man is never released, or better receives the death penalty. At least it makes me feel better to know that Nora is in heaven and she is with her beloved daughter (who was also violently murdered) living in peace and away from all the heartache of the world. RIP Nora Cook, you will be forever be in our hearts and missed greatly, the world is truly a sadder place without you. God Bless
My grand father sold her the house she was found deceased in. I grew up with the Cook family. I beg to differ about the warm hearted woman you talk of. Yes she became a warm hearted person in her last years, but she gave those children hell all of their lives. She more or less used Francis as a slave and would constantly yell at her, I despised this woman all of my life for what she put Francis through. No, Doug had no right to take someone’s life, and he deserves punishment, but his mental status is solely his mother’s fault.
Futher more her daughter Francis at age 11 developed a tumor around her putoritory gland said to have been caused by Nora throwing her down a flight of stairs which cause her inability to take care of herself or have a normal life. Francis told my brother, when we were young, that Nora had done this to her. So really how much simpathy could you have for someone so evil?
Just to let everyone know that his court date is sheduled for April 28th 2008 at the Frank Crowley Court in Dallas.
Just to let everyone know that Douglas wimped out and took 25 yrs. He knew he was screwed, and I found out they found the guy who raped Francis. He is now in custody.
