Ex-DA Mike Nifong, “no credible evidence” that Three Duke Lacrosse Players Committed a Crime

Ex-Durham, NC District Attorney is a day late and a dollar short. Today the disbarred Village_idiotNifong stated that there was “no credible evidence” that the Duke LAX players committed a crime. Um, Nifong … then why did you prosecute the case? Maybe you should have made this revelation when you first investigated the alleged rape.

Disgraced former prosecutor Mike Nifong acknowledged Thursday there is “no credible evidence” that three Duke lacrosse players committed any of the crimes he accused them of more than a year ago, offering for the first time a complete and unqualified apology.

Its one thing to apologize. However, it still does not explain why Mike Nifong pursued a prosecution when he knew there was no evidence. That is a criminal act on his part to knowing prosecute with no cause. It will also prove to be a rather costly error on Nifong’s part as civil lawsuits will be filed in the future.

On Thursday, Nifong apologized.

“I agree with the attorney general’s statement that there is no credible evidence that Mr. Seligmann, Mr. Finnerty or Mr. Evans committed any of the crimes for which they were indicted — or any other crimes against (the accuser) — during the party,” Nifong said. He declined to comment further after the hearing, as did his attorneys. (Yahoo News)

Whoa! I watched today & when i saw Nifong say there was NO credible evidence to prosecute the players i felt sick & then very very angry. In the beginning i kept an open mind & felt the priviledged players could possibly be guilty coz who hasn’t seen the HAVE’S degrade the HAVE NOTS at some point in their lives. But i waited & wanted to see the evidence Nifong had before i came down on one side or the other. It was when we learned that the accuser had semen samples taken from on and inside her body of 5 different guys and that NONE of them were the DNA of the 3 accused that i saw evidence that the accuser could be lying. I must admit when i heard there was semen all over this woman and none of it belonged to the 3 accused and that Nifong told an associate not to disclose that fact that i was like….nooo…..could it really be true what everyone was saying about Nifong? A trusted state prosecutor knowingly going after…..RAILROADING 3 innocent men for his own political gain…..DAMN!

Hell yeah i think he should be brought up on criminal charges! He betrayed the public’s trust in the system & was willing to send these guys to jail & ruin their lives. That deserves some jail time in my book!

Does a little too Late seem appropriate here ?
and now he has hired Attys representing him to save his assets from seizure in case of a Civil trial of which there will surly be .
Our Judicial system is surly broken and the Laws are
far far too many and many times only defending the politicians and those with much money to hire lawyers to defend
delay and file counter suits for them .
I am not sure what the answer is and it is too late for me but some day the public will awaken and decide that the ”First thing we need to do is shoot all the Lawyers ! ”
and that will cut down on most of the politicians.
Ever try to defend against an Atty that has directly lied when giving advice to you ” even though this is as much MALPRACTICE as a Dr that knows but doesn’t disclose what is wrong with you trying to defend yourself against these “Vultures” that have already drained most of your finances
and can and do pass on most of your sensitive personal information to their Atty ( ATTY client privilege is BS at this point )and then if you can even get past the first part of a JUDGE (Former Lawyer ) granting you a trial.
Believe me this IS NOT the Justice system that we all were taught about in school and PLEASE don’t ever let an ATTY tell you that is, and if they do RUN holding your pockets
      closed .

      Apparently Nifong was working

with the NBC 7 SECOND Live Show Delay Button,

and flicked the setting up a notch,

to 7 YEARS!!! His name is easy to remember

Nifong… almost sounds like ding dong.

What do you want to put the poor guy in jail for? He needed a ‘hook’ on which to base his flagging re-election campaign, the one he found worked for him but it turned out the defendants had more money and better lawyers than most defendants and so they beat the trumped up charges.

It was a bandwagon… Duke University joined in right away, as did a great many Black Studies professors everywhere but most importnt the voters did!

It was no big deal. It was no more financially or emotionally devestating than other charges, its just these three defendants happened to be rich enough and strong enough to survive the ordeal.

Also, is it clear whether the woman who raised the charges in the first place knew that these three were innocent?

As I recall, she came out with a lot of contradictory stories. In this country, unlike Aruba, lying to the police is supposed to carry penalties.

(OK, on Aruba it might, depending on what day of the week it is, whether you’re a witness or a suspect, how hot it is outside, etc., etc.)

The accuser and Nifong need to go to jail.

      #2: most politicians ARE lawyers.

You really have to wonder what was going on inside Nifong’s enlarged head. Surely he knew that sooner or later the truth was going to come out. Just what was he planning to do at trial? Put forth his lack of evidence and his nutty “victim”?

What blows me away is that this could happen in the USA to three innocent people, one with an iron-clad alibi, costing them their schooling, a year of their lives, their reputations and untold amounts of money.

Too little too late Nifong. I hope you go to prison and I hope they take every last one of your assets and then some.
