University of Colorado Fires Ward Churchill … Its About Time! … PLAGIARISM
The University of Colorado governing board voted 8-1 to fire outspoken professor Ward Churchill from their faculty. As much as one would wish to fire Ward Churchill for his comments made about 9-11, that falls under free speech. Ward Churchhill was fired for plagiarism. Try as he and his attorney will do … this is about your client the plagiarist. That is a firable offense in academia.
Three faculty committees had accused Churchill of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct. The research allegations stem from some of Churchill’s other writings, although the investigation began after the controversy over his Sept. 11 essay.
“The decision was really pretty basic,” said university President Hank Brown, adding that the school had little choice but to fire Churchill to protect the integrity of the university’s research. (Fox News)

CU regents fire Ward Churchill
The first, very long chapter of the Ward Churchill saga ended this afternoon as just about everybody – including Churchill – had predicted: He was fired from his job as ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado.
The next chapter is set to begin Wednesday, when the controversial academic and his civil rights attorney, David Lane, sue the university in Denver District Court.

Good for the Univ of Co they might have finally woke up, or more likely though they found a way to fire this guy with out being sued .
We really do not need this kind of individual teaching our future generations Leaders IMHO

Yaaaahoooo, finally.
I was thinking UOC had the insane at the helm to let this guy to continue with his rants and shows. Yes, they are finally thinking about the integrity of the university. Yaaahoooo.
I tend to think that the plagarism, even if a genuine offense, is only the necessary fig leaf. If this scumbag hadn’t attracted international attention for his 9/11 remarks, the university would have passed it over.
Now when is Duke going to do something about the professors who took out newspaper ads slamming its own students?
I suspect the only reason he was hired in the first place is that he claimed to be Indian (which he wasn’t); that, of course, made her the wonder boy in the eyes of the politically correct. Diversity at all costs, even if it results in hiring incompetents.
I hate to say this but this jerk will land on his feet. It’s the ugly side of our society. There’s always room for somewhere for these kind of weirdos.
How do you say ‘About Dayum time!!!’ and be ‘politically perfect’?

Shades of Ward Churchill
Ward Churchill had a friend, Ruben G. Mendoza, a teaching assistant at the University of Colorado, Denver. Ruben’s department Chair Dr. Moore, for abusing students, booted him from the university, against which Mendoza promptly filed suit. Ruben, an ersatz Chicano, resurfaced as an activist, and got fast-tracked to tenure through one Steven F. Arvizu, at CSU Monterey Bay. Mendoza became the nosebleed of the fledgling university. Churchill was invited to CSUMB by Ruben to speak at a weeklong gathering of the clan. Mendoza also engages in academic misconduct, so far without consequence. The Duke lacrosse team fiasco shows that educators have created a phony cultural paradigm that distorts reality. And, no one exploits phony paradigms, obfuscates truth, or games the system like the Clintons. Point being, miscreants like Churchill and Mendoza have powerful political backers: the fish rots from the head.

Set the Wayback Machine for 23 August 1995: a hot day in the nation’s capitol. But 3000 miles due west on California’s Central Coast, a constellation of events was unfolding that would have a profound effect on Western civilization; plunge it into decades of war. Yet, this cataclysmic upheaval was only part of the plan. Bill Clinton picked up the telephone. It was his Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, calling from a payphone in Monterey. Bill held the receiver at arms length and gazed at the tasteful floral arrangement that adorned the Oval Office. Leon’s disembodied voice filled the room. What now, asked Hillary. It’s that damn college, mouthed Bill. There was, no getting out. Hillary nodded, just tell Leon he’ll get whatever he needs: http://theseedsof9-11.com
