Still think it’s only a publicity-stunt (and sure as hell BNN got their publicity!!!)
It wants to make people aware of the problem of organ-shortages and promote organ-donation!
(BTW. Two reasons why this donation CAN’T go on: • The woman that supposedly will donate her kidney has cancer and doctors are afraid the kidney is infected and will not transplant it. • Doctors in the Netherlands have said they won’t cooperate with this type of “donation” via TV.)
TV-show with kidney? Eh, don’t kidd-me!
If we did, you’d be Captain Kidd. Just kidding.
(We don’t need allusions to pirates of the Caribbean … we’ve been dealing with them over the last two years.)
Oops. Wrong spelling. (English is not my first language…)
Meant of course: Hey, don’t kid me!
Haha! Just watched the show, and it was all a hoax, and brilliant one! TV reporters from Japan, Germany, the US and everywhere were here, and the whole world believed this was true – a great success and a great way to bring more attention to organ donation.
It’s all been a hoax!
Woohaa! And everyone fell for it and spoke shame of it!
Oh these perverted Dutch with the liberal views.
Pfff, doens’t everyone complaining about look like a fool now!
No, those complaining of it don’t look like fools.
If it was meant to be a joke, it certainly says something about the sensibility that would treat this as humorous.
Next, I know at least one person who says it only became a “hoax” when the rest of Europe reacted in horror and the Dutch realized that it would be bad PR for them. So suddenly, what had been planned became a “hoax … ha, ha.”
Oh Richard come on… you must know that we Dutch don’t care about good PR. For decades (centuries?) we have been seen as being too liberal, too tolerant, too whatever by the outside world, so we don’t really care anymore.
Also, this was not a joke, this was about something dead serious and the producers did a great job putting donor shortage back on the political agenda in this country.
