Alec Baldwin … Father of the Year (NOT!!!) … Phone Message to Daughter

Alec Baldwin Telephone Message Ripping his daughter a new one.

What a troubled individual this man is. Gee I think every girl wants to be called a rude, thoughtless little pig. News flash to Alec Baldwin, maybe that’s why she does what she does to you? Ya may want to get some mental help.

I am going to come out there for the day and I am going to straighten your ass out when I see you. Do you understand me?

You are a rude thoughtless little pig.”

Alec Responds: “I’ve Been Driven to the Edge”

Isn’t it interesting how people try to blame others for their own issues. Take some responsibility Mr. Baldwin, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Alec Baldwin swung back at wife Kim Basinger, slamming “certain people” who he says, “will go to any lengths to embarass [sic] me and to disrupt my relationship with my daughter.” (TMZ)

What Alex Baldwin said to his daughter is worng on so many levels.. However he is not the only guilty party involved in this.. How about kim Bassinger who so obviously has released this message to the public.. I feel sorry for the girl for having two parents so out of touch with reality that the only peope they worry about is themselves..

He never thought about what such harsh words would do to a young teenage girl and kim never thought about how making this public is making the girl relive her humilition over again and this time in the public eyes.. Both of them shoudl be ashamed of themselves and both of them need parenting classes.. Pronto..

Don’t know how this young girl is going to ever grown to be a normal adult when she is surrounded by so much hate!! It will be a miracle if she can ever realluy trust anyone..

    6. Kat_Gram on April 21st, 2007 3:11 pm

I agree with you Melissa, why would Ms. Bassinger release this ? She harmed her daughter also. It’s always the same, parents fight, kids get hurt. Why did the media release it also ? TMZ is such a mean blog. They are the ones that this was released to. This girl deserves better from BOTH of her parents.

Kim’s Lawyer is Harvey Levin who owns TMZ. Very bad move releasing this..The damage done between Alec and the daughter is now much worse..

    10. Mortella on April 21st, 2007 4:28 pm

This became part of public records when entered into their divorce proceedings. Baldwin’s attorney should have requested a gag order be placed on it.

Interesting how quick some are to blame Kim Baysinger! She doesn’t write the laws, you know!

I’d have to say Baldwin’s attorney dropped the ball on this one!

    11. WTF on April 21st, 2007 4:39 pm

Why are some putting ANY blame on KIM? NONE of this is her fault other than choosing this ass to impregnate her. I think many of us believed his stories of being unfairly denied access to his daughter and how fathers get the short end of the stick in divorce. Well now we see exactly why Kim is protecting her daughter.

You KNOW darn well this isn’t the first time he’s done this to the little girl.

    12. Joanie on April 21st, 2007 4:59 pm

Seriousely; when I was that little lady’s age, my dad used the xact same kind of language on me. My folks weren’t divorced, but my dad was just mean. I decided LONG ago that I’d raise above that name calling and be strong and be a good person to everyone – and I have kept that promise to myself! However, names still hurt, even after all these years. I’m 49 now, but being cussed at daily, being called names like Baldwin did to his little girl, still stabs at the heart a bit. I pray that little girl will be strong and hold her head up and be proud of who she is.

    13. tex on April 21st, 2007 5:27 pm

there’s two sides to every story, the little teenager may have never worked, never looked for work, maybe a snob and may be a couch patotoes that mouches off of others, may have had a new car at 16yr old, may never clean her room or chip in on house chores

    14. Observer on April 21st, 2007 5:41 pm

Maybee the little girl hates her dad because of what other people have fed into her ear the last two years..Maybee Mr.Baldwin is out of control..

It’s all none of our business!!!!!!!!!!!!Releasing of that msg violated a court order.

Alec Baldwin just once again shows just how much of an idiot he really is. Remember the comments he made about US Rep Henry Hyde during Clinton impeachment that “people should stone him to death”.

Baldwin does this to his own child, imagine how he treats total strangers?

      What an A$$.

    17. mayan_moons on April 21st, 2007 9:09 pm

I remember that Red. Hey if Alec talks that way to his own little girl can you imagine what Kim’s had to go through? He wasn’t just pissed off, he was threatning and i’m glad this came out coz it may curb Alec’s rage before it escalates into something no one can take back.

    18. justinsmama on April 21st, 2007 9:31 pm

Wow. I would be frightened to allow him to see this child.

    19. kpg on April 21st, 2007 10:37 pm

It is none of our business.

The child should never put in this situation.

      Both parents are wrong.

    20. Scrapiron on April 21st, 2007 10:51 pm

I would know Baldwin is a retarded democrat just by the comment defending him. He belongs in a mental facility for a long time, not on the street. Of course that would also apply to 90% + of the current supporters of the traitors in the democrat party.

    21. Katablog on April 21st, 2007 11:53 pm

Joanie, wish more people would listen to what you say from your own experience. I also know that abuse can take a heavy toll on a child’s self esteem. And yes, the one thing I learned from it was how NOT to parent.

Tex: she’s 11 years old! She should be out working when she has parents that are loaded? I think not. There is never any excuse for talking to a child in this manner.

Then, instead of Baldwin being horrified as to how he sounds and bluntly just saying: “I screwed up, I apologize and will immediately apologize to my daughter”, he ends up whining about what he’s been through!

    22. Mortella on April 22nd, 2007 12:06 am

This CHILD is 11 or 12 years old! I certainly hope she doesn’t have a job!

There is NO excuse for talking to any child in this manner. NONE! He is angry with the mother and taking it out on the child.

Oh, and note he is going to take off a WHOLE DAY to deal with this problem. What a loser! Doesn’t sound as if he cares to invest much time in his child at all and yet expects her to jump when he calls.

Those of you making excuses for this creep, really, I have to wonder if you really condone speaking to an 11-12 year old in this manner? It’s far too threatening to speak to an adult like this let alone a child.

We have all had bad days but the majority of us manage to refrain from taking it out on our children. The rest of you might need help just as badly as this sorry excuse for a father does.

    23. Kat_Gram on April 22nd, 2007 12:09 am

Why is this about Baldwin’s politics ?
He said some uncalled for things to his daughter.
His wife and or her lawyers released this private voice mail to the public. Why ? The girl is eleven years old
and must be very hurt by the divorce and making this public just hurts her more. Does it matter what anyone’s politics are in this particular situation ?

    24. Patti on April 22nd, 2007 2:03 am

I agree with you Kat Gram. I hear the voice of a frustrated father that was told to call his daughter at a certain time and is upset that she wasn’t there. From the sounds of it, it’s not the first time it’s happened. I get the impression that he’s calling from New York, late at night; and, had to be rude to someone in order to get to the phone and make that call, timely. He is venting his frustration into a blank answering machine… perhaps saying things that he could never say, in person.

I agree with the others that say this is really none of our business and it is underhanded of Kim Bassinger or anyone to cause this sort of damage to a person’s career out of her own sense of revenge. This is not being shared as a means to curb a child abuser, which would be done through the courts; this is being shared to ruin someone’s life… and that’s wrong.

It’s too bad that Kim Bassinger doesn’t realize that destroying her ex-husband’s career is going to result in his inability to care for his daughter, financially, in the fashion that he had in the past and it is only going to put a kink in whatever relationship he may have wanted to have with her and his daughter.

      This is just plain ugly.

    25. tex on April 22nd, 2007 8:12 am

i stated 16 in my sentence, not 11 or 12. but their are always some in the crowd that selectively hear what they want.

i have a friend who is a juvnile probation officer for 600+ kids under the age of 13 yrs old. many of these children are pathological liars and some are cold blooded murders w/o remorse, some have waelthy parents who have high priced attorneys and others are just so street smart they can convience anyone their parents are the scum of the earth when in fact their parents are angels, but by then the damage is done and sometimes parents will lash out with anger and mean words. unless your on a jury, don’t pass judgement w/o all the facts.

    26. buster on April 22nd, 2007 9:57 am

Alec Badwin’s an idiot and Kim knows this !!! Thats why she is using the little girl to get at Alec, Kim knows how to push Alec’s buttons and she is doing a good job using her daughter.
Alec should of left a really cool message saying how much he misses her his and how his love will always be there for her, That would of really oissed of Kim. Now when Kim’s little games using the daughter gets old and cruel she will run to daddy in an attempt to get away.
Kim’s releasing of the phone message was just another attempt to get Alec out of the little girls life and this time I think it worked.
Hey Alec go to Aruba and relax then go to carlos and charlie for a drink

    27. Stranger on April 22nd, 2007 10:17 am

#13 – Is that you Alec? I noticed that you do have a problem remembering the child’s age.

This guy is a pig! And, this outburst is just the latest in a long history of chemically induced BS. I must admit he was pretty good in the “Departed,” but I don’t think the roll was much of a reach for the guy.

    28. Stranger on April 22nd, 2007 10:27 am

Some of you are confusing discipline with abuse! When correcting a child, one never attacks the child mentally, or physically! It is to the parent to be the adult in the relationship, set forth what was wrong with certain actions and then fairly administer some type of consequences fro those actions. Calling your kid a fat, lazy pig is no where to be found in what might be considered appropriate parenting skills. Attempting to explain it away only condones and compounds the problem.

If this child is subjected to this type of mental abuse over a prolonged period of time, there is a good possibility that she may end up a regular poster at RU or FOB.

    29. Kat_Gram on April 22nd, 2007 11:09 am

One of my issues with this ” debate ” is the release of the message to the media. Baldwin is not a good Dad for speaking to the daughter this way. This should not be fodder for the public. I think both parents are wrong.
The child is the important thing here and were her needs served by either of the parent’s behaviour ? If they go this far it’s not hard to imagine the poison the kiddo is probably and I say probably subjected to. Divorce is tough on kids. In the parents war with each other, it is always the kids who suffer. ps And the lawyers get the cash.

    30. Stranger on April 22nd, 2007 11:31 am

My problem with this is the way the guy was trying to bully his daughter. I seriously doubt this is new behavior and he probably used the same tactics on his ex-wife. If he was stupid enough to be in the middle of a custody battle and leave that recorded message, he deserves the bad publicity. I wonder how many democratic fund raisers he will be invited to over the next few months……

    31. yoyo muffintop on April 22nd, 2007 12:11 pm

You know, after reading the following I was starting to lean to Baldwin’s side: “We are not going to say how we got it. We got this legally,” Levin told Lauer. “I’m not going to reveal the sources, but I will also say that we thought about this a lot just because it involves a kid. We have reason to believe that Ireland was just fine with this ending up on TMZ.com. We ended up doing what we thought was right.”(Harvey Levin on the Today Show 4/20)

Then I read Alec’s apology on his website (nice plug for the book at the end. yak): http://tinyurl.com/2yo638

Kat_Gram is right right – parents war, kids suffer, and only the lawyers win. Only in America.

    32. yoyo muffintop on April 22nd, 2007 12:15 pm

uhh…I’ll save this one…In this case 2 rights equals a wrong – and the kids are being wronged.

    34. tex on April 22nd, 2007 12:28 pm

i know of a story where a minor (not a teenager)who was caught using drugs and hanging out with a bad group of kids. her parents grounded her, took her cell phone and computer for several weeks and told her not to associate with her friends. the girl met with her usual friends at school and they concocted a story to a teacher who that her parents abused her and her friends were witnesses. police took the parents to jail, put the child in foster home, the dad lost his job, and the mother had a nervous breakdown. months later during the court custody battle the child said she lied to get back at her parents for grounding her. by that time the girl had suffered abuse in foster care, the parents divorced and the new teacher said i’m sorry. a bit late for appologies – 3 lives had been destroyed because of a few cunning kids.

    35. Stranger on April 22nd, 2007 12:48 pm

If this recorded message was not made public, just how many more degrading messages would have the little girl received from her father before it was halted? My bet would be only until he didn’t get his way again and decided to pitch another tantrum toward an eleven year old kid.

His apology sucks and is typical of self-serving a$$holes.

    36. Stranger on April 22nd, 2007 12:56 pm

#34 – I am really missing your point! This eleven year old girl was not available to answer the telephone at a designated time and her father flipped out then started calling the kid names and making threats.

There are some very bad, mixed up kids in this world, but I don’t get the connection in this case.

    37. wreck on April 22nd, 2007 1:09 pm

So – “to hell with all kids”; huh, tex??? Yes, there are exceptions but most all of “bad kids” are due to some type of bad parenting skills.

    38. tex on April 22nd, 2007 2:03 pm

no, i didn’t say what you said and i didn’t say all kids are bad, i just mentioned an instance that deviates from the obvious. you took my exception and exploited it to state “all”.

    39. wreck on April 22nd, 2007 2:28 pm

      tex,
I know you don’t mean “all” kids are bad — but you seem to certainly be hinting that it is kids’ fault most of the time. I think that the vast majority of kids are decent — of the “bad” ones, 90% of those are due to poor parenting skills. There are only a very small number of kids that are just plain miscreants despite a good family.

    40. Tex is Right on April 22nd, 2007 3:48 pm

      Tex,

I, for one agree with you. However, you are arguing with special olympic gold medalists.

You can’t win against a bunch of self rightous folks who are unable to fully comprehend fact and logic.

For what it’s worth — 1. I think Alec is basically a douche bag. 2. This whole phone message thing is being blown out of proportion (but who other than monkeys can blow). 3.His message and tone were wrong, but unless you have been a parent in such a circumstance, you have no right to judge. 4. Whoever released this tape to the media sux.

Blow away, monkeys, I shant argue with you gold medalists.

    41. Patti on April 22nd, 2007 3:57 pm

I think what Tex is saying is that we don’t know what kind of person this kid is. There is no doubt that parents are supposed to take the higher ground and not resort to calling names… but parents are human, too, and do not always remain between the guide lines. I don’t know of ANY parents who have never lost their tempers.

He makes reference to it being 10:00 at night and how he would expect her to be home… but, not knowing this girl I hate to make judgement. I will say, however, that this is a Hollywood child; and many of them act beyond their years. Maybe she needed some “straightening out”.

    53. Mortella on April 22nd, 2007 11:21 pm

This is the same Alec Baldwin who in 1999 on the Conan O’Brien show said he should go to Washington and stone to death Congressman Henry Hyde then go to his home and kill his wife and children.

The politics enter into it because if a conservative made such statements, they would likely be facing a congressional inquiry or worse.

This guy is a jerk! He is addressing an 11 year old child, his own whose age he cannot even recall. But never fear, this fine example of a father is going to devote a whole day to flying out to straighten out this kid. Maybe he will find out her actual age while he is there!

Going public is the best way to expose and hopefully prevent some sort of physical attack. I doubt Baysinger is the one who exposed this as it is now a matter of record in the court but even if she did, I don’t blame her for it may well prevent his vile and hostile words from escalating into some sort of physical abuse. He sure seems capable of it in that rant! You can bet this is not the first time he has addressed this CHILD in this manner, too.

    54. Patti on April 23rd, 2007 12:37 am

      Ahhhhh… too late, Indy Dan.

What could be finer? A little bit of democrat vs republican mixed in with a splash of Hollywood on top of a heart-wrenching subject like child abuse.

      My oh My…

      What have we here?

A little dish of character assassination?

      MMMMM… yummy.

    55. Mortella on April 23rd, 2007 2:37 am

Yes, indeedy, if one is going to play the part of a political activist, then one should be fully prepared to have those same politics injected into all aspects of ones life, especially when one is exhibiting similar ranting behavior. How can we not think of and recall when he has behaved like a nutcase in the past? Because it was political, he gets a free ride? I don’t think so!

Remember when the left constantly bashed the Bush Twins at every turn? What goes around comes around but they were minors at the time if you will recall. This is a grown man who sticks his ugly mug in every political rally that comes along.

So, sorry, the left doesn’t get a free pass especially in light of how they politicize everything themselves. I can’t even watch this particular individual in a movie any more for thinking about some of the crazy rants he has had in the past, political rants that would be.

A rant is a rant and he is the one who has politicized similar behavior in the past. Deal with it! Or are we supposed to pretend he didn’t do all that crazy stuff before?

And since when should Kim Baysinger cover for this loon? She’s supposed to pretend he’s not a nutjob? Well, the fact is that he is and this is not his first, second nor third insane rant that we are aware of. Usually, he is quite proud of them, too. So what’s the beef when he is the one always going political? Oh, right, just forget everything he has done in the past and pretend this is the first time he ever made such a fool of himself?

Yes, liberals are very special people and entitled to make threats against congressmen if they want to. I keep forgetting that. And we are all supposed to pretend we didn’t hear him do this all before and also forget that usually when he does it is political.

Sorry, my memory’s too good for all that! I remember and remember it well.

    56. Skyboxx on April 23rd, 2007 6:07 am

Wonder who plays Alec in the made fot TV movie DADDY DEAREST?

Seriously, there is more to this story and Alec, somewhat of a liberal blowhard, lost it and its on tape. I can’t say its child abuse, but it is wrong. Are their any out their who have never never raised their voices and said things like this? At least this little girl will know, via her loud mouthed dad that the world can be a cruel cold place sometimes.

This was a private situation exasperated by a public leak.

Is mom saying to the little girl that she has to respect Dad , even though they are divorced?

      Will Alec get counseling?

Will there be a reunion show on Dr Phil?

Will someone make a killing by printing up tee shirts with the words, “I’m a ruthless little pig……?”
      Don’t touch that dial………………..

Character assassination? If the guy had any character, this would not have happened in the first place. It couldn’t have been assassinated anyway, because it committed suicide!

Just an FYI — Kim didn’t choose Baldwin, or anyone else, to impregnate her, Ireland is adopted.

I know that sometimes all things seem political — And Alec Baldwin is certainly good at that, but this is not political. It may have been a Republican or a Democrat who released the tapes, because we don’t know the origin (and I don’t know Kim’s political party), but this wasn’t done for political gain it was done in order to make points in during a child custody dispute, plain and simple, nothing “sinister” about it. Both parents are to blame in this, and no matter what Tex thinks, I disagree…there are 2 adults and an 11-year-old child in this, the blame for the 2 supposed adults trumps any for the child, no matter what she did. Calling her a pig is inexcusable.

There is nothing right about any of this, it isn’t anyone else’s business, the information should not have been released, Alex shouldn’t have said what he did, and Alex didn’t need to apologize on his web site — after all, that just turned into “poor me” being treated badly by Kim. If they think that this has been difficult for them how do they think Ireland feels? He should apologize to his daughter privately (and I have heard that he has done this). Ireland is just another pawn being used in a divorce situation, except she gets to have everyone else weigh in with their opinion.

What we need here is a judge who isn’t afraid to start fining people and putting them in jail until their behavior improves.

He said if Bush was elected again he would leave the U.S. to bad he didn’t! He just seems controling. I can see now why Kim divorced him. But, she had a hand in this to, and who knows the child may have wanted the world to see just how her father really is!! Maybe she did this for a reason hopeing her mom & dad would see what it has come to. Kids are smart, when my husband and I split up our daughter had to call it to our attention that we were acting like children and make us see what I guess we couldn’t and I’m glad she did cause we have now been happly married for 25 years thanks to a child who could see what we couldn’t. But I don’t think there is hope for Kim & Alec and it is sad for their daughter.

Two things in life must be earned: love and respect.
A parent can’t demand it and a court can’t command it.
The child has her father’s phone number, does she call when not being commanded to call?? Maybe the court should be more worried with the child, her feelings and her life. If she fears her father, maybe a counselor should evaluate the situation. The court can file contempt charges but that will not create a relationship between this child and her father. The courts are for the adults and treat these issues as if a property settlement. No one is entitled to love or respect. It can’t be forced.
Alec has much bigger problems than Kim. IMO

Baldwin promised to leave the country if Bush was elected along with several of his buds so what are they doing still here? He now weasels and claims he only said it would be a good time to leave the country. Yeah, right!

And it is impossible to juts forget the rants this man has had in the past and pretend this is the first time we have heard him behaving in this out of control manner when it isn’t.

Maybe Baysinger or the daughter actually fear him and made this public as a sort of insurance against some sort of physical attack by Baldwin.

Here is an actual transcript and link from one of his previous rants, the ones we are supposed to ignore for some very odd reason.

Excerpt from Late Night with Conan O’Brien

“They voted on one article of impeachment already. And I come back from Africa to stained dresses and cigars and this and impeachment. I am thinking to myself, in other countries they are laughing at us 24 hours a day and I’m thinking to myself, if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. [stands up, yelling] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH!”

      EOQ

So this man has been making threats and doing rants on the record back to 1998 wherein he actually threatens a sitting U.S. Congressman. I would imagine an 11 year old would be scared to death by this lunatic.

Hint: It becomes a matter of public record in a divorce unless the judge rules otherwise and places a gag order.

But this is why rants by this Bozo are political, because he has done it all before. It’s just that usually his target is some member of the opposing political party. This time it was his 11 year old daughter. Who’s next? Neither Baysinger nor the daughter owe him a cover up.

If you are a has been actor who has turned into nothing but a political activist, don’t do these rants if you don’t want to see them on YouTube or elsewhere. And if you preach to others, expect to have it come back to you.
