RSSAtlanta Orangutans Hooked On Video Games
We are worried that our children are getting hooked on video games? It looks like researchers are also getting the Orangutans at the Atlanta Zoo hooked on them too.
Next step, rehab for carpal tunnel syndrome and weight watchers.
They’re Sumatran orangutans at Zoo Atlanta. The orangutans play on a touch screen built into a tree-like structure in their habitat. Volunteers from IBM worked nearly 500 hours developing the games. Correct answers mean food pellets for the apes.
They also have a painting program and draw by moving their hands or feet over the screen. Researchers say data from the games will help them study the animals’ memory, reasoning and learning abilities.
Zoo officials also hope visitors will get a better understanding of the orangutans’ intelligence and the plight of the dwindling species. via Tampa Bay’s 10.

Shave off its hair and you will.
Too funny..there used to be a zoo here where we could go feed them grapes and they had a tv in their cages mounted up high. The people working there said they like to watch videos and dance.. They put on MC Hammer singing “Can’t Touch This” and the orangutan got up and started clapping and dancing.
Don’t ya just hate people that sit in the safety of their homes, using their keyboards to spew their ignorance for
the whole world to see?
