Maher maybe 50+ but he has no wife- nochildren- and has a stridency that suggests ONLY his point of view is the correct way of viewing things- in my book that makes him a TENNAGER- and I treat his remarks as such.

    2. Anthony on March 8th, 2007 11:01 am

Sorry about that, meant to say TEENAGER, spelling is the first thing to go, you know.
P.S. Also feel that Maher is valuable as he verbalizes what many on the left truly feel but are too smart to say (people who believe in God are dumb and dangerous, people who join the military are too dumb to know what they’re doing). While most conservatives know this by well, moderates need real evidence or they refuse to believe.

Dana is totally correct about the comment that Bill Mahar made about the VP Chaney .
Free speech has gone to this mans head and for the sake of entertainment ??
This type of rehetoric has no place on American TV Noe Radio and The SM & Danas show has held itself High above the standard even though some of the topics have to make their blood Boil I appauld the SM /Dana radio for NOT stooping so low as to openly support the death of any individual that has not been comitted of a felionious crime .
Keep up the good fight men and ladies. Jerry from Ohio.

Maher is a comedian at least he says he is that has now twice used his public forum to spew hatred. Its very clear he hates Bush and will use any forum to state that.
Remember what he said on ABC before he was fired there
ABC decided not to renew Maher’s contract for “Politically Incorrect” in 2002 after he’d defended the supposed bravery of the 9/11 terrorists by saying, “We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That’s cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it’s not cowardly. Stupid maybe but not cowardly.”

      And now

Maher replied: “But I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people wouldn’t be dying needlessly tomorrow . . . I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.”

This isnt free speech this is garbage plain and simple.

And yes I did watch the clip many times just to make sure exactly what he said. His stupid comments affect everyone no matter where they live.

In regards to comment #4 from Dana Good comment and may be I was being too kind calling his comment about what if Chaney were to die knowing of the VP’s health situation
      freedom of speech .
I don’t think Mr Bill (No Class ) has any business on a national stage maybe he shoulkd go back to the small one nite stand comedy clubs But ill bet that he would not last long there when some vets heard what he was spouting and were close enough to get to him .
I bet he would run like the chickin that he is in that situation .

Dana, these people like Bill Maher actually think that Dick Cheney and GWB are more dangerous than Bin Laden, Saddam and terrorists.

      They actually believe their BS.

The funny part is that if we were ever taken over by Islamo-Fascists … the Bill Maher and Hollywood libs would be the first they would “take to the soccer field”. Then the liberal professors would be next.

Maher and company have some real screwed up ideals.

bill needs to grow up. just because he has a podium, doesn’t give him license to say whatever the hell he chooses.

unfortunately i’ve read comments on liberal wacko sites wishing for air force 1 to go down, yadda, yadda. sick people who wish harm to others.

      Hey Red!

I’ve been saying the same thing for years that if the US was invaded by these Islam/Fac that they would be the first to have boot prints on the back of their heads. NO doubt in my mind about it and it troubles me that they let their hatred of Bush override the safety of America.

United we stand and divided we fall.

      Thats the bottom line.

      now that’s truly frightening.

Instead of taking Maher to task, the Conservatives are much too busy eating one of their own and trashing Ann Coulter! Or having Newt Gingrich confess to having had an affair.

Coulter’s remarks at the recent CPAC meeting have received ten times the coverage of Maher’s far more offensive one but much of it is coming from the Right.

I am very disgusted with the GOP right now for being so totally spineless and not standing up to Liberal hate speech. All one has to do is criticize the Right and they will fall all over themselves trying to explain. It’s a form of vanity to be so thin skinned and quick to turn on one whom they should be at most downplaying.

Apparently, the new speech code for CPAC is what Michelle Malkin finds acceptable for her toddlers to hear!

Unless the GOP develops a spine and in a hurry, they are in big trouble yet again! They just can’t say enough bad things about themselves while giving people like Maher a free ride.

I don’t like Michell Malkin to much.

There were much more important news stories that you could have discussed, so why focus your moral outrage on the badly worded yet harmless opinion of a TV personality?
