Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama Battle Royal Round 1 … “Everybody in politics lies, but they [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling”
“Everybody in politics lies, but they [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling” (David Geffen)
That’s going to leave a mark.
Let’s hope that this is a sincere battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President and not another pathetic John Edwards pandering to be VP stunt. Barack Obama takes Hollywood. Has Hollywood turned on the Clintons because of too much excess baggage?
A clear undercurrent to yesterday’s high-profile Hollywood swing was the ease with which Obama swept up support from entertainment industry titans who had once been squarely with President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.). (Washington Post)
The new kid on the block is cutting into Hillary’s turf. The political debates and Primaries should prove truly interesting. Hillary Clinton may be the only Democrat who is upset that Democrats took over the House and Senate during the 2006 midterms. Now she must explain her past votes to all wings of the Democratic party.
(AP) LOS ANGELES Checks from Hollywood’s A-list stars such as George Clooney, Eddie Murphy and Barbra Streisand added up to a one-night take of $1.3 million for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, who earlier Tuesday urged an audience of thousands at an outdoor rally to help him transform America.
From the outset, it would appear as if Barack means business and Hillary is running a bit scared of the new kid on the block. The battle went negative and rather quickly, Hillary Clinton, Obama in Hot Exchange Over Hollywood Heavyweight’s Comments.
“We aren’t going to get in the middle of a disagreement between the Clintons and someone who was once one of their biggest supporters. It is ironic that the Clintons had no problem with David Geffen when was raising them $18 million and sleeping at their invitation in the Lincoln bedroom,” Obama campaign communications director Robert Gibbs said in a statement that was e-mailed to the news media.
David Geffen, former Clinton supporter has words that were none too kind to Hillary Clinton and her campaign for the 2008 Presidential election.
“Not since the Vietnam War has there been this level of disappointment in the behavior of America throughout the world, and I don’t think that another incredibly polarizing figure, no matter how smart she is and no matter how ambitious she is – and God knows, is there anybody more ambitious than Hillary Clinton? – can bring the country together,” he was quoted as saying. “Obama is inspirational, and he’s not from the Bush royal family or the Clinton royal family,” Geffen added. Geffen was particularly bitter about Sen. Clinton’s position on Iraq. “It’s not a very big thing to say, ‘I made a mistake’ on the war, and typical of Hillary Clinton that she can’t…. She’s so advised by so many smart advisers who are covering every base. I think that America was better served when the candidates were chosen in smoke-filled rooms.” (Fox News)
Then Obama’s political team fired back
“Everybody in politics lies, but they [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling,” Geffen had said.
The top Democratic dog Hillary Clinton’s campaign responds to the unkindly comments. Clinton Camp to Obama: Cut Ties & Return Cash After Top Booster’s Vicious Attacks. With all that is in Hillary’s past and her husband’s they are actually going to make comments that others should return monies because of vicious attacks. If that is not the pot calling the kettle.

Rattle on SM-Hillary may very well be your next president.
I guess GW doesn’t lie at all. LOL. He’s the biggest liar I’ve seen in the Presidency in 40 years, except for Nixon. After all is said and done, in the future GW will prove to be the absolute biggest liar of them all.
I realize that this may come as a shock to some on the LEFT, but it was uber-Lefty David Geffen who called the Clinton’s liars, not SM … st least not this time.
#1. This is the battle between Hillary and the rest of the pack that want to be President or at least nominated on the Democratic side. Hillary will have to stand a death of a thousands cuts being the front runner.
Word is that many do not support Hillary on the LEFT … especially the far Left.
Of course we never hear this because the media loves her.

#2. Oh I don’t know … your boy Bill Clinton was right up there as well. When did buba say we would have our troops out of Bosnia?
Here is reason number one why Hillary will not win the 2008 presidential election. She cannot take critisizm. She can dole it out, but she can’t take it. Anyone, including those in her own party that do not get down and worship her are wrong.
Reason number two, she is a divider, she is polarizing, she can cannot unite people.
Somewhere I read news of a poll that shows Bill (Former president Clinton) and not running I might add, is more popular than Hillary who is running. Imagine that. People will forgive a president who got some on the side, who inhaled, who draft dodged, who cheated and lied, but they will NOT elect Hillary who is a bona fide carpet bagging fraud.
Name one politician who isn’t a master at worming his way out of “sticky situations”! It seems to be a part of life in the political arena! But, only the Dem’s seem to be called “liars”. Repug’s just pretend awkward situations don’t exist. Ignore the question…it’ll go away!
Round #1 of the Battle Royal? Good gosh almighty! With nearly a year remaining until the caucuses begin and a year and a half remaining until the presidential nominating convention, this is going to become one heck of a monotonous, humdrum battle to watch long before it ends.
Kate, not just the Dems’s, the Republicans too. “They” have set themselves up as Federalists if you will. A class unto themselves while the working class (poor, middle, upper class and filthy rich) are taken for a ride.
Bush is taking it pretty good in the press and on all the major networks. Just this morning Imus, (very liberal) called for Cheney to be hung as a war criminal, Bush a liar and then turned on Mike Barnicle and called him a liberal pussy.
Why? Because people are tired of the ultra left and the ultra right and want reprsentation for middle America.
Hillary IMO cannot relate to working class and middle America in General. She tries, but she can’t do. Guaranteed she doesn’t get elected ni 2008. No one wants her there. But she will run and raise money and awareness and like the two party system proports itself to have choices, in the end Hillary will take the podium, say thank you for supporting me, now its time for you to join me in supporting the front runner. (whomever that will be)
Same with Kucinich, and Mitt Romney and others from both parties. They can’t win, but the bring their little parcels to the big party and then turn them over. America, its still the greatest country in the world.
The thing that has me most scared is a bad combination of power.
Can you imagine Hillary Clinton paired up with our Leader
of the House that, proudly, hails from the great city of
San Francisco.
San Francisco?
What the ?!?!?!??!?!
Sodom ~ or ~ Gomorra?
San Francisco:
With all those feet, running…..
to badness.
This ain’t Hollywood, Baby…
… but, it’s the next best thing!
Hollywood is dead…
… all that’s left are casualties
Besides, anyone that has a video camera can take
pictures and sell them…
REAL, reality T.V.
Which Hollywood does Obama support? The classic
or the latest and greatest?
What is most interesting in all this was how poorly the Hillary camp reacted.
Let’s face it Hillary has never run for real office. She has never had the pressure on her. When she ran in NY state for Senator, Guilliani had to withdraw because of Prostate cancer.
She conveniently avoided the media and the MSM never put her on the spot.
There is a new media darling now and his name is Barack. Just how will Hillary react to not getting her way and actually having to answer questions?
Should be interesting

LOL I wonder how it feels to be called out by your own peoples?
Look the left is even showing dissent with the Hillary Camp.
Got to love it.
Patti I will agree with part of your comment, that most voters on both sides are not listening to the “so far from reality Hollywood “do as I say not as I do” group.
Enjoy this video of the Clinton / Obama feud. It’s fun! http://www.theointment.com/?p=296
Enjoy!
