Global Warming Alert: Oswego New York Gets Enough Snow To Bury Shaquille O’Neal

7foottallbasketballplayerIf you are complaining about the weather where you live, you got nothing on the people in Oswego, New York. They have over 7 feet of snow on the ground and getting more as we speak. That is enough to cover Saquille O’Neal, NBA superstar, who stands 7 feet 1 inches tall.

That is a great deal of snow.

Must be global warming.

The snow in some parts of New York state is deep enough to bury a basketball player. Snowfall totals in Oswego County have topped the seven-foot mark.
The National Weather Service reports 88 inches of snow has fallen in the town of Parish since Sunday. That’s seven feet, four inches of snow, as high as the National Basketball Association’s tallest players.
New York’s governor has declared a disaster emergency in the area. Forecasters say it isn’t over yet. The region could get another two to three feet of snow Friday.  via 14 WFIE,

Hows this for perspective.

Proportional Height for the post.

Wow.

Obama even mentioned global warming today during his speech. Guess he hasn’t been to the windy city lately. Brrrr!

Here is link to a 2005 article from CNYwinter.com to add a broader perspective of winters in upstate New York, where snow is measured in feet, short trips are measured in hours, snow removal is a social event and those special occasion gifts that best suit the needs of New York’s upstate apple-knockers are jumper cables, tow ropes, wool socks and flannel pajamas.

We had 14 days now of subzero weather, snow last week and a winter storm watch for monday through tuesday. 7feet..yuck.. I like a little snow at Christmas, then I am ready for summer again. When the kids were still home we use to love going out in it with them. I still sled now and then, but I can see NOTHING GOOD about waking up to 7 feet of snow. I saw those people on the weather channel on their roofs shoveling the snow off. I say time to go south when that happens. I would take some global warming sent to me the past few weeks. Dear Al..

Lived in Oswego most of my life. Moved out 11 years ago but family still lives there. This was a good old fashion snow storm. The interesting part is the thunder snow. Very cold air blows over the very warm water and creates thunder and lighting in a blinding snow storm. The storm of 1966 measured 16 feet of snow in some areas. To plow our street a backhoe had to be used because you could not get down it with a regular snow plow. If you are born and raised there you are accustom to the snow.

Yeah, its really cold where I live. There aint is no such thing as global warming.

Yesterday was colder too, so I would say that ours earth is not getting warmer.

Good article you scardey monkies. Nice to know someone else thinks like me.

Just because there is a lot of snow doesn’t mean global warming isn’t happening. In fact, it’s more proof that the entire climate is screwed up. Temps have been more extreme lately with record highs and lows throughout the year. Something big is happening.

There are even tons of trails in the air around us, dropped by planes, that spread out and make this artificial overcast. There is much evidence of a multi-national climate contorl program.

Think me a crackpot if you will, but don’t ignore the signs and evidence. I know I sound corny, but the truth is out there :-p
