The Detroit Lions … the Worst team in the NFL … Even In Victory they Lose … Lose 2007 #1 Draft Pick

Only the Detroit Lions can create a loss from a victory. That’s how the 2006 season has Lions_logoended for the Lions.

How bad have the Detroit Lions been this season? One might say beyond terrible. Prior to todays finale in Dallas the Lions had a 2–13 record. The only bright spot to a truly pathetic season was the fact that they were poised to pick first in the 2007 NFL draft with a loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Detroit Lions and Oakland raiders were battling for the dubious distinction of futility for 2006.

A funny thing happened on the way to Detroit having the worst record in football and securing the number 1 pick in next years draft and picking Brady Quinn of Notre Dame  or in this mock 2007 draft they actually won todays game, 39–31. Proving the Detroit Lions can do nothing right in 2006.

It worked out pretty good last year for New Orleans who chose second. ;)

There is no way that was worth losing the #1 pick.

As a Cowboys fan, as Tom very well knows, as we rib each other all the time … I fully admit the Cowboys are going no where this year in the playoffs.

Much in the same way was the Giants will be going home early was well. ;)

Since I’m a Giant and Notre Dame fan. I’m quite annoyed at the Lions for winning and not getting the #1 pick (Quinn). I can’t stand Oakland. Almost as much as the Cowboys. Alright. Who am I kidding. I dislike Oakland. But I really hate the Cowboys. Have a Happy New Year.

Unfortunately for Detroit … the Lions do not have the Houston Texans picking #1 in 2007. As foolish a pick that was ever done last year by Houston.

The Oakland Raiders are in the market for a QB as well.

Brady Quinn looks like he will be wearing the Silver & Black next year.

Classic :) Lets not forget the Lions Coach who drove through the wendy’s drivethrough drunk and NAKED. Or the 3 years in a row they drafted a wr with there number one pick. Its time to hang Millen by the goal posts.

You guys have to let this whole thing play out. What if Quinn pulls an Elway/Manning. He pretty much holds all the cards. In the end if he is the #1 pick he will have some say where he wishes to be employed. If a team were looking for a running back they might consider Slaton or Rice.

Rice not coming out, he is a sophomore I believe. At least one more year at Rutgers.

Slaton worries me as he plays in a non pro-style offense.

There is still a good QB in LSU

Tom is barely a Giants fan after their pathetic showing this past year.

Tom has never been and never shall be a Notre Dame Fan.

So let it be written so let it be told.

I would trade Grossman and Griese for Quinn straight up! I think you are right about Rice. It will be fun watching him play another year at Rutgers. If I were the Lions I would trade down and stack up on D. Millen cant be trusted with such a high pick. imo.
