School Bans Hugging – Spotlight

Well, in the wonderful age of political correctness, now hugging is banned in an Iowa City, Iowa middle school. The stated reason is that it is impeding foot traffic through the hallways because of too many group hugs.

Do you ever get the feeling that these administrators have a bit too much time on their hands?

School officials at Southeast Junior High School banned the popular act of affection because girls would hug in groups and stop the flow of traffic during passing periods.
Principal Deb Wretman said they have now instituted a strict hands-off or handshake policy at the Iowa City school. She said it’s safe and efficient.
“The reason that we have the hands-off handshakes is really a, ‘Lets move through the halls during passing time, do it safely and efficiently,’” Wretman said. via Local 6 .

Seriously, folks… the spotlight has been on for way
      too long.

We expect our kids to love and care about eachother.
We teach them to be a part of the team and to watch
over and protect one another; and then ban they’re

      I think I need a hug!?!?!?!?!

Let’s create a little more work for the school officials, how about they all take mandantory IQ test’s. Is it now wonder that some children grow up with no values, you cannot have values with out love.

i am doing a school project on hugging at school because our school just banned hugging! every child in our school agrees that hugging is a good thing and has no violence, on this side i want to know why schools banned hugging! these people are right! it sure beats fighting, stabbing, and shooting each other……please reply so i have answers for this debate!! and answer the questions below:
      “why did u ban it?”
      “what is wrong with hugging?”
“would you rather a school that everyone murders each other and hurts each other in the playground?”
please give reasons that you think that it is wrong…and for the people against the ban please give me the reason you think the ban should dissapear!
thank you and i hope to get alot of replies!
