Catherine Mayo, 59, of Braintree, VT who’s bizarre actions on August 17, 2006 caused United Flight 923 from London-to-Washington to be diverted was sent to the mental hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A woman whose actions aboard a London-to-Washington flight provoked a security scare will be held indefinitely at a residential mental health facility in New Hampshire, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.
Catherine Mayo, 59, of Braintree, Vt., has been in federal custody since Aug. 17, when United Flight 923 was diverted to Boston after Mayo urinated on the floor of the cabin and made statements that the pilot and crew believed were references to al-Qaida and the Sept. 11 attacks.

The GMA interview is dated in that it took place prior to the request and acceptance of Dutch police, KLPL, to take over the investigation. One wonders what Joran Van der Sloot has to be thinking to continue to bring the media focus upon himself. Joran thinks he is a star. He just cannot stay away from the camera. Complaining to the media that the media is hounding and speculating. Anyone else see a problem with this?
One wonders what Aruba, its citizens, the ATA and officials must think about Joran Van der Sloot continually playing to the American media. Wonder why your tourism is where it is at? If he is looking for sympathy, it is not going to happen. If he thinks he will convince people he is innocent, that is not going to happen either. One thing is for certain; every time Joran Van der Sloot goes on TV, the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway comes to the surface again in the MSM. Think Aruba and its tourism officials are happy about that? Joran, who is talking to the media?
That explanation hasn’t stopped the media scrutiny.
“It’s goes too far, definitely in the American media,” van der Sloot said.

Aruba Agrees with the conditions of the Netherlands (National Police Corps, KLPD) assistance in the investigation of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway
Its official … Aruba has agreed to the conditions that the Netherlands National Police Corps, 
KLPD, will assist in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. It appears that even though it was Rudy Croes who initially requested the Dutch assistance, he was absent from the meeting that formally approved the conditions.
Remkes indicated at the end of the meeting with prime minister Nelson Oduber (MEP) that Aruba has agreed with the conditions that the Netherlands had associated with the assistance. Specialists of the Korps Landelijke Politie Diensten (National Police Corps, KLPD) will lead the location and will also get total tracing authorities. The KLPD-detectives are allowed to carry weapons and will get accessibility to all technical tracing-means. “So the team can start”, said Remkes.
The detectives from The Netherlands will travel to Aruba in a few weeks. This is the final chance for Aruba to help their tourism. Can the Dutch bail Aruba out of the problem that was created by the incompetent investigation and the presumed cover-up?
The detectives will travel to Aruba in a few weeks. The minister couldn’t say yet how many detectives will come to Aruba; he thinks between 5 and 15. He expects the investigation to last for weeks and not months. The Netherlands will pay for the costs.

Think Aruba is Not Being affected by the decline in Tourism? Ask KLM Airlines.
A constant decline in tourism creates a need in the air travel industry to rethink the size of the 
aircraft needed and the frequency of trips. Thus is the recent decision by KLM in their flights to Aruba. They refer to such events as “changing market conditions.” The continued one year decline in tourism to Aruba can certainly be called … changing market conditions.
KLM will adjust its service to the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba over the next year in response to what it called “changing market conditions.” From summer 2007, all flights will be aboard MD-11s instead of the present mixed fleet of 426-seat 747-400s and 282-seat MD-11s. The MD-11s will be “radically modernized” in the coming months to bring the product in line with the World Business Class and economy class standards of KLM’s new 777s and A330s. Frequencies will be reduced. Aruba will be served four-times-weekly, twice in combination with Bonaire and twice with St. Maarten. Bonaire also will be served five-times-weekly to and from Ecuador. Daily flights to Curacao will be nonstop.
Not only are the planes being used to travel to Aruba reduced in seat capacity by 144 seats, the frequency of flights will be reduced as well. Maybe Aruba wants to ask itself what caused this “changing market condition”? Can you say … Natalee Holloway. Can you say Aruba’s continued refusal to handle this matter properly?

Steve Irwin Dead From Stingray Barb Injury
Steve Irwin, the world famous Crocodile Hunter, has died today from a stingray barb struck and penetrated his chest. He was filming a documentary on northern Australia when this attack occurred. Steve Irwin has been a noted figure in popular culture as he had television shows that featured him introducing exotic species to the world while always cheating death. The phrase “Crickey” has been associated with Steve over the years.
A DOCTOR and witnesses have told of the desperate efforts to save Australian icon Steve Irwin after the Crocodile Hunter was struck in the chest by a stingray barb today. Irwin, 44, died this morning after being fatally injured while filming a nature documentary off Queensland. The news has shocked the nation and prompted a rush of tributes from politicians and the public alike. Irwin’s wife Terri was in Tasmania at the time of the tragedy and had to be contacted by police with the terrible news. The couple’s daughter Bindi, 8, was with her father in north Queensland, Irwin’s manager John Stainton said from Cairns. Choking back tears, Mr Stainton said Irwin had gone “over the top of a stingray and a stingray’s barb went up and went into his chest and put a hole into his heart”. “He possibly died instantly when the barb hit him, and I don’t think that he … felt any pain.” via NEWS.com.au.
