Amigo: Lawsuit Kalpoe against Skeeters too expensive
From Amigoe, I guess lawyers and clients do not have contingency payment arrangement in Aruba. Deepak’s attorney, Rudi Oomen setting the stage why his client may not be suing Jaime Skeeters for the tapes.
“My client has limited means and cannot just institute a lawsuit in the United States”, said lawyer Rudi Oomen about the rumours that his client Deepak Kalpoe will take legal proceedings against Jamie Skeeters in the States. Skeeters is the man that recorded a conversation with Kalpoe and sold it to Dr. Phil’s TV-show.

Hurricane Wilma Hits Florida Keys and Mainland Florida
Hurricane Wilma came ashore the Florida mainland before dawn on the west coast near Naples as a Category 3 storm.
Hurricane Wilma crashed ashore in southwest Florida and roared across the peninsula, pounding Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach on Monday after slamming Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and killing 17 people in the Caribbean.
The sprawling storm, about 400 miles across, covered much of the Florida peninsula and some of its strongest winds whipped Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, the state’s most populous area with about 5 million people.
Wilma made landfall as a Category 3 storm at 6:30 a.m. EDT near Cape Romano on the southwest Gulf Coast. It then began its path across the peninsula.
Hurricane Wilma plowed into southwest Florida early Monday with howling 125 mph winds.

Beth Twitty Remembers her daughter Natalee Holloway’s birthdays
Scarborough Country October 21, 2005
Beth Holloway Twitty in what is a rather difficult interview to watch dealing with questions on dealing what would have been Natalee Holloway’s 19th birthday. No matter how you feel about how Beth Twitty has dealt with the way she has gone about bringing this matter to the forefront of the media, no one can begin to understand or comprehend what a mother’s grief must be like especially on her daughter’s birthday.
Beth Twitty also brings up some interesting points on Judge Rick Smid placing suspect’s rights over a victim just so he can begin college. Also her hopes that the suspects will be brought back in and hopefully interrogated by the Dutch interrogators as before.
You know Joe, I think back to the judge. I think back to judge Rick Smid and I think that he chose the suspects rights over the victim’s rights in this case. It is hard for me and I’m sure it’s hard for everyone that has stayed with us in this investigation.
We see it so clearly what they have done and I just can’t imagine why the judge would feel for Joran to begin his studies in college. He felt like he needed to move on with his life and he needed to begin and not miss his college days.I just can’t imagine a judge placing suspect’s rights over a victim just so he can begin college.
Beth Twitty will be returning to Aruba on November 1, 2005.
Joe: Do you have any birthday memories? Anything, like her 18th birthday, what was she doing on her last birthday?
Beth: Probably her 16th birthday cause that is when you do the car. I think that one was probably the most special, and it probably is to all parents.
Joe: What do you remember the most about the 16th birthday?
Beth: I don’t think I can do it. (Starts to cry)
Joe: Any parent with children knows that they spend all of this time getting their children ready to go off to school.
Beth: Yeah
Joe: That was robbed from you apparently by three young men who are now on the loose. How do you deal with that?
New Orleans is Coming Back, But It Will Be a Long and Painful Process
The devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina has brought New Orleans to it’s knees. The city was hit by the storm, flooded when the levies broke, had its population spread throughout the country in one of the largest relocations that has been witnessed in the history of the United States.
Now it is preparing for its comeback. The restaurants are starting to return. There is a shortage of labor, but some of the better restaurants are returning, 200 in the past week, and many others are making plans to return.
On the housing market, the destruction is not as bad as originally thought. Shortly after the storm hit, the city was thought to be a wasteland and never to return. Now after the storms have ended and the water receded, the damage can be more honestly assessed. The word is that about a quarter of the homes of the city will have to be bulldozed. This will allow some opportunities for the city to revitalize and return stronger if the infrastructure can be developed to keep the water out in the future.
So New Orleans will rise again. It will be very interesting to watch the process.
Focus Shifts back to Fisherman’s Huts and missing items in Natalee Holloway Investigation. (fish trap cage)
Lately, much of the focus in the Natalee Holloway investigation has been toward searching the water. There have been references to boats and missing items from the fisherman’s huts. Joran after originally changing his story that he had left Natalee Holloway at the Holiday Inn stated that he left her alone on the beach near the Marriott and the Fisherman’s Huts. Also, it was reported that items were stolen from the Fisherman’s Huts. From the Sat. September 17, 2005 Geraldo interview the following was said regarding missing items:
Geraldo: What is the significance of the huts?
Harold: This is astounding, because what happened the night after Natalee disappeared three out of four huts had been broken into. A knife was missing from one, a fillet type knife with a steel shank. When I interviewed the fisherman, he said he had forgotten to tell the police. He called them, they haven’t responded according to him. There was a cage that they use to trap fish. Big enough to put a body in, he said that was missing.
Geraldo: What does that tell you Harold?
Harold: It tells me that they might have taken Natalee out into the water. You only have to go out about 3/4 of a mile and it drops down to about 40 ft. Strong currents, strong wind.
However, last night during Greta Van Susteren’s interview with Jossy Mansur he stated the following:
Greta: … Now the search Jossy, we hear there is another search today and that a missing cage may have some sort of relevance to the search. Do you know anything about a missing cage?
Jossy: Yes mam, I do. The person that looks after the fishermen’s huts found in the morning that Natalee disappeared that there was a knife missing and a cage. From one of the locked places the fishermen keep their gear.
Jossy Mansur also goes on to state that the fact that the size of the missing fish cage would be able to hold a human body and the coincidence of the fact that the items went missing at the same time that Natalee Holloway did as well.
Greta: Now, how big is this cage?
Jossy: It is a big cage, it is a fish trap made with chicken coop wire. You know the ones that have the round holes in them? That’s pretty big.
Greta: Could you put a body in it? Could you put someone 5’4” or 5’6” in it? Jossy: Yes, you can.
Greta: Was this reported…she disappeared on the 30th. When was this first reported missing?
Jossy: It was reported to the police that same morning by the caretaker. The man who looks after the fishermen’s huts.
Greta: So, it wasn’t because he had heard there was a missing person? It was just coincidentally I have a missing cage and reported it? Jossy: That is correct. He just told them there were a knife missing and a big fish trap missing.
