Paul Van der Sloot files lawsuit for being detained unjustly.

In an interview with Jossy Mansur with Greta Van Susteren and ‘On The Record’, October 21, 2005 we learn that Paul Van der Sloot arrived at the court house in Aruba today andPvdSloot1 will file a law suit for being unjustly detained during the Natalee Holloway investigation. According to Jossy Mansur, Paul Van der Sloot is looking for monetary compensation.

Greta: Jossy, explain why Pal Van der Sloot was at the courthouse today.

Jossy: Well, he started a case against the Aruba government because he wants monetary compensation for the time he spent in detention at the police stations.

Greta: That was about five days, six days? I can’t remember exactly what it was. Jossy: I think it was three days. I think they let him go on the fourth or fifth day. It was a very short time.

More from the interview with Jossy Mansur. (Hat Tip: SunMoonStars) Pvds2

Greta: Welcome Jossy.

Jossy: Thank you Greta.

Greta: How much money does he want?

Jossy: That we don’t know.

Greta: Is it because it is not stated specifically in the papers? Or is it sealed? How come we don’t know?

Jossy: We don’t know because the case has come forth but he has to wait until a decision on his status as a suspect. That will happen on the 11th of November. Which is when the judge will decide whether they will let him go as a suspect? In other words, free him for any suspicion or just keep on holding him as a suspect. Because he is a suspect.

Greta: What is his major complaint about that detention? I mean not that anyone wants to be detained. Where does he say that the Aruba government basically went beyond their own guidelines?

Jossy: Because he claims he was detained unjustly, it was unfair. That he had nothing to do with whatever was brought against him.

Greta: Is he representing himself?

Jossy: No, he has lawyers standing him by

Greta: And what about his son Joran? Has Joran filed a legal action as well?

Jossy: I don’t know anything about Joran as yet, as of this moment. I don’t believe he will, not yet.

Greta: I didn’t mean to suggest he had. I was just curious if he was joining one with his father?

So, guess this means the theory of the ALE trying to cover for PVDS is wrong. What gets me is how could he NOT be a suspect. Maybe he’s jsut tring to draw away from the investigation. Putting something else in thier faces. I think it’s a very sneaky thing to do. How could he possibly think he could get away with this??? Some people’s IQ Level surprises me…..and I’m not sure why it does. Just another person who thinks he can cheat and lie and get away with it. Oh no, I forget, aparently you can get away with anything in Aruba. JMO!!!!!

Here we go again. The best defense is a good offense. Maybe in his lawsuit: if the prosecutor is smart, they could get Paulus to admit some unknown facts.
And if Beth and Jug are smart they should start a lawsuit against Joran for admitting to leaving Natalee alone on the beach in a semi conscious condition. And when and if Natalee is found sue him for anything that happened to her for not informing authorities of her where-abouts and her condition and charge him responsible for any ill that befell Natalee. This would be accidental or otherwise. He has already willingly admitted to his irresonsibilities. Include Paulus in that lawsuit because Joran was a minor was living with his parents, was underaged and allowed into Casinos and Clubs. So his father is responsible for Joran’s actions.
      Stick it to them Beth.
And one more thing. Boycott all the Dutch Antilles Islands and Holland. The only thing the dutch were good for was the kid with his finger in the dyke. No I did not misspell dike.

So..his son killed a girl and he wants to make money off of it? Paulus van der Sloot has no conscience. I can see where his son gets his psychosis from.

I have lived in Aruba for 16 months in the late 80′s. In the field I worked, we had to put up with having to hire Arubians without experience to cover technical support. No way around this. You give them probation for a set period of time during which they do their best to keep their jobs, however as soon as they passed probation, you better roll you sleeves up and start working ’cause they are done working and you get to pay them their weekly wages and there is now way you’ll get rid of them. Ever! It was the same in trying to get into business, max 49 percent to foreign investors the rest has to be Arubian, same scenario appears, as soon as the papers are signed, your parteners will not work the business ever, even if you put up his share($) in order to go into business.
Some security gards caught on video tape stealing from a slot machine while the casino I worked at was closed for the night were released because they haven’t stole enough money.
This was One Happy Island, still is, nothing has changed.

I just can’t believe this Sloot person. He was just taken in for some questioning a short week and he had to find himself another job but doesn’t he see why???

    7. oneyka on October 22nd, 2005 7:54 pm

Stupid! the girl is still missing, they keep searching for her remains if you will, and the goverment is going to award him money for giving free advise to the other three creeps? no body no crime? Aw, come on! Paul and company must be very hard up to come with this suit, its laughable! but who knows! Anything can happen in Aruba that is backwards.

    8. kate on October 22nd, 2005 8:40 pm

Sounds like PVDS is confident that he will never be connected to this case in any way. Wonder just how much he thinks the six days he spent in jail are worth anyway?

I really would like to know how he explained to Anita exactly why he was out all night (at the ATM machine, McDonald’s, etc) while she was away. And, how did he explain to mama why Joran was out dancing and gambling most of the night, before his final exams? As a teacher, wife, and mother, I would want the answers to these, and other questions.

Aruba, tell the Van der Sloots to kiss your “cheeks”!

    9. Marci on October 22nd, 2005 10:54 pm

In my opinion Paulus Van Der Sloot knows where Natalee is, however he probably knows she has deteriorated by now, and he feels quite safe about it. That law suit is just to put more stress on the Holloway/Twitty family. He wants to try to convince the world that he is an innocent person.

    10. julie on October 22nd, 2005 11:53 pm

when will the cowardly vandersloot allow his property to be searched ?

    11. julie on October 23rd, 2005 12:03 am

since joran the moran admitted to raping Natalee isn’t that grounds for the governement to search vandersloots property? of course the criminals have had plenty of time to clean up their evidence by now. what a lousy excuse for an investigation.

    12. 10061906 on October 23rd, 2005 7:50 am

Excuse me if this gets listed twice.
Here we go again with the lawsuits. It would seem that the best defense is a good offense. Maybe if the prosecutor is smart, he may be able to get some incriminating evidence while Paulus is under oath.
Maybe Beth and Dave should start their own civil lawsuit against Joran for wrecklessly leaving a semi conscious Natalee alone on the beach: thus making her an easy prey. Hold Joran for any injuries sustained once Natalee can be located. And even if she is not found sue them for all the expenses that he caused you by her disappearance.
He did not tell any of the authorities of her where abouts or her condition which I believe is a felony in Aurba. Also: since he was considered a minor and living with his parents, both Paulus and Anita should also be included in the civil suit. Joran engaged in activities such as underage drinking and gambling which Paulus and Anita knew about; knew he went to C and C’s and in doing so eventually led to whatever happened to Natalee. So sue all three for damages and expenses you incurred.
I agree with the boycott issued based upon not going to an unsafe resort. Boycott all the Dutch Antilles Islands and Holland included. The only good thing the DUTCH did was create a boy who stuck his finger in a dike. {{edit}}}.

Wasn’t bringing in PDVS a ‘tactic’ that Aruba gov was using? Like tapping the phones before the ‘suspects’ were ‘detained’…

    14. Marci on October 24th, 2005 12:28 am

Beth should write a book of everything that happened since Natalee disappeared in Aruba, then the people of Aruba will see how corrupt their Justice System is. Trapenberg, the government spokes person, got rid of the reporters, because he said they were interferring with the investigation. They were charged an inflated amount of fees to come there. Sooo, why would the American tourist go there then. I wouldn’t feel safe there without a reporter. NO ONE SHOULD VISIT ARUBA.

    15. Sarahscooby on October 24th, 2005 9:49 am

This case has no legal merit – it’s simply a way to distract the public’s attention away from the real issues of Natalee’s disappearance and search. I’d be pretty shocked if PVS – who knows all the secrets of what happened – didn’t also file a case against the Twitty/Holloways just for spite and to further confuse the issues.

More of the same garbage from Jossy Mansur. Once again, there is NO record yet of a lawsuit being filed. But that does not stop Jossy from speculating that it is going to happen, without absolute proof. What happend to the party boat DJ lawsuit? Wait, that did not happen. I bet this does not happen either. More of the same.

    17. John Staton on October 24th, 2005 1:11 pm

Since we know without any doubt that he obstructed an investigation and very probably is directly responsible for the destruction of all evidence, is $2.50 too much? Yes it is arrest him for above.

PVDS thinks he’s being so clever. Act indignant and file a lawsuit because that’s what an innocent man does. WRONG!! An innocent man would have given his son the third degree in front of the Twittys that first night they were questioned. He would have been looking for the missing girl, not telling JVDS and the K-2, “no body, no crime.”

MY GOD, if someone came to me about their child missing, whether my son was a suspect or not, I would be out searching. The VDS-2 and the K-2 NEVER helped look for Natalee in any way shape or form. Of course they all know where she is, so there is no point in looking. They all feel sorry for themselves. The media is picking on them…the whole world is picking on them…all because of Natalee Holloway and the Twittys. What rotten people the Twittys and Holloways are. How DARE they look for their missing child.

I hope and pray that the truth comes out. Natalee deserves to go home and her family deserves closure. I have a very strong opinion about what the VDS-2 and the K-2 deserve, but unfortunately, that punishment is not part of the Dutch law.

    20. commonsense on October 25th, 2005 11:27 am

Once again, people being led blindly to the light.
Julie – Please tell me where you heard that Joran “admitted” that he raped Natalee. BHT saying so does not count.
Marci – BHT will write a book. But at this point, you could find it in the fiction section, since she was led by the lies of Jossy Mansur. He lies to her about evidence to cover-up his hatred for the current administration. He should be arrested for being a liar, who has led the Holloway family down false paths of hope and evidence.

There are no other viable options to get Aruban officials to take this matter as seriously as they should. So, today, my family is cancelling our annual vacation and endorse a travel boycott to Aruba, and as a US citizen, I am joining them in this effort.”
